It was horrible.

Seeing the ruins of the Silver Kingdom with her own eyes had been hard enough. Her task had been to gather miasma from the Tower, and yet, she could not help but feel a sense of pity of the emptiness, the eeriness, of what was left of a place many once called home.

And now her own Kingdom fell, and she knew the pain the citizens of the Silver Kingdom had felt. Arms folded, her fists clenched tightly around her arms. Justice watched, unable to take her eyes away from the slow deterioration of their Kingdom.

Once, she had thought that she would deal out justice on the battlefield. But she had not come into skirmishes in the one trial alone and she wondered if she could aid in a battle to take away someone else's Kingdom. Was that called Justice?

But at least their King was alive. And with the battle won, they could rebuild their Kingdom. It was an inner struggle within herself, but she ultimately remembered what she had stood up for, what she had proclaimed to do for their Kingdom.

She would fight. The Black Kingdom would rise once more.

Judgement's unease turned out to be well-founded, when everything she knew was torn asunder: the Kingdom she had struggled so hard to protect had fallen while they tried to relax. Hadn't she felt that it would happen? She'd watched so many of her fellows fall in the Tower, and she herself had only gathered a handful of Miasma.

It wasn't enough. She silently bowed her head, and swore she would never fail her King like that again. She would never let herself fall in battle as pitifully as she had failed to gather Miasma. She couldn't. At least her wounds were not so great that she could do nothing in this fight.

She would be only a minor player, but she would play her part. And she would play her part at Justice's side, because that was how this had to go. One, without the other: how could they follow through?

The loud crack echoed in her mind long after it had faded, and she watched everyone flee; she, herself, must have fled. Didn't she? When she came to, when she could really see what was happening, she felt a pressure on her wrist. Justice had kept hold of her and run, clearly. She could keep up, of course, but... for some reason, she must have gone into shock. She hadn't seen what had happened.

Not really. Fragments of it rose to the forefront of her thoughts: The Kingdom torn asunder, the Voice promising we would fall permanently if we forgot the Oath we swore and lost the fight. Judgement's face was blank, and she tried to focus on what Justice was saying, but everything was still gone.

Gone. And she hadn't even seen the king stair-racing.

It took her a long time before she could muster any words. Instead, she kept hold of Justice's hand and stared straight ahead. Then, her free hand slid up to her meteor hammer, stroking its chain. How grateful she was that she had decided not to relinquish it. And they still had their coins: those bits of treasure she'd dug up from the cavern piles.

"Justice?" she mumbled, lowering her shadowed face. "I have weighed this in my mind, and I know: the others deserve to fall. We must exact our revenge," she continued, squeezing his hand almost violently. "Threefold, for every inch of our kingdom lost to ruin."

"We will see our king crowned the True King," she swore.

His prediction is right...again. Sometimes he is afraid by his own ability to predict things like this.

The Voice has spoken. The fires of battle has been lit. The fuel, that is a mixture of hatred, sadness and despair has been poured upon the Remnants.

One thing is certain.

The Voice
"To fight to redeem, to fight for the title as True King, I announce the Final Tournament that will take place in the Great Battlefield. And to the battlefield I give my greatest blessing, a fragment of my Power. With it you may challenge many, and bring victory to your Kingdom. Fight in battle and emerge victorious, and I will bestow upon your kingdom the power of the True King."

This is the battle he's been expecting.
But before that, he would need something...someone else. His combat ability is very well above average, but he would not like to take any chances of being backstabbed or ambushed.

He would need partners. Trusty Partners.

Night's ears flicked as he entered back into the fallen kingdom. So many memories fading in and out of each other...he tried to disprove lie from truth from lie and all in all...

he needed to focus only on one thing. Not the abandoned what used to be of the black kingdom...but the students he was with and how to save them.

By killing them.

He went to his former friend and former sharer of the card, Fortune.

"Fortune was not kind to us today Jericho." The black cat eyes remained on the fallen kingdom. "In battle, we can only hope that our fortunes show us mercy....." How hard would it be, to kill?

He'd done it before, would it be any different against his friends?

He looked for Aymet instead. The king.
his king? Friend. He'd have to kill him too.

Jericho turned as he saw his fellow Forturne. He was still very angry, and it was rather apparent too. He let out a huff, he nodded to the feline.

"Indeed. I will rip out their throats. We will still stand victorious over them all. I swear by it," he snarled, "Fortune is fickle. But I have faith it will be on our side once we are out on the field."

The two halves stared up in abject horror as Their Kingdom fell, and the Tower, Their Tower crumbled until all that remained was more shadows. Except these did not shift, or alter, or reform. These were sullen, immobile, and made fury and frustration bubble and mount within Them.

The winged half of the pair soared upwards, clawing frantically at nothing in particular while shrieking Her head off. While on the ground, Tess was quiet, and still, hands covering Her mouth, ignoring the keens of Her other half. She turned on Her heels and began walking, feet moving of their own accord until She came into contact with a fellow Shadow.

Tess looked up and found it was Strength and the Lovers knew They needed that right now. Strength to go on, Strength to push through, and the Strength to tear anyone who dares step foot within their Kingdom. And without another word, Tess simply wound Her arms tight.

When she heard the crack, it was as though her heart followed suit. This must have been how those from the silver kingdom felt. It was horrid and sad, she was torn between fighting and consoling those around her. There wasn't much time left before they would have to leave for the battle field, which from the sounds of it was their last chance. What were they going to do?

Strength felt as though she could barely breathe, the stress of it all weighing on her. Would her comrades be able to keep the faith of the kingdom
? They were a strong group, they should be fine. But this kind of pressure could break anyone not strong enough to deal with it. Honestly, she couldn't blame them if they did.

When the arms wrapped around her she wasn't exactly sure how to handle it. She wasn't offended or angered, but felt a strange sense of comfort. She was thankful for this random act, and considering the circumstances, she had a feeling the half of the Lovers needed it too. For now they were all orphans, who had to fight for their lives and a home. Maybe everyone needed a hug... "It will be ok. We are strong and fierce, and above all else; angry."

Tess simply nodded, all Her fury and rage was currently being keened skywards by Her other half. She took comfort in having Her gesture accepted and not pushed away, She listened to the words from Strength and found truth in them. "Yes. Yes, that is right. We are angry. We are Revenge. We shall make them all pay for what they've done," she agreed, voice surprisingly calm, though the black hate no less intense. Featureless as She was, when Tess pulled back from the hug, she was smiling.

It wasn't any easier, the second time around. It was perhaps, marginally less horrific, since it wasn't his familiar, home surroundings crumbling...but in some ways, the fact that he'd left his own shattered, fallen kingdom, only to join another (temporarily or not, it was the same)...and have it fall to ruin, as well.

Finally, all was almost eerily quiet, and then, filling the silence with an oppressive, heavy weight upon everyone, the Voice spoke.

Apparently, it was time for him to decide where his loyalty lay. He might not be up for swearing eternal allegiance--the fast-moving events were such that he couldn't help but think a rushed decision would be foolish--but he also didn't think he could sit back and offer to do nothing, either.

Slowly, he squared his shoulders, and made his way forward, to offer his life (or to die, as the case may be) in the battle ahead. He might not be too sure that he was on board with the vengeance-mindedness of the kingdom, but he had too much sympathy for what they had to be going through (although their King still stood) to not offer whatever aid he could.

Night's tail flicked as he studied the dragon. he'd have to kill him.

His gambling friend.

Did he know him outside of this dream? Did it matter?

"Lady luck has a way of balancing out the tides of war. Perhaps it is true. Because we have lost so much, we will gain something more on the field." Night grinned, "A freedom from this kingdom?"

Strength nodded as the other shadow pulled back, patting their shoulder as a sign of solidarity. "I don't think others will be ready for us. But we will prove that we should not be under estimated."

She would be as much of a pillar as she could for her comrades, being sure to be a representative of her name. She would be open to those who needed her support, and stand for who she could. The times ahead were going to be very difficult, and they would all need to dig deep.

Death just couldn't believe her eyes, crumpling places seemed to be following her.

Off the fire... right into the frying pan.

But the Voice said that a battle was coming. This time Azmodel would be ready, she wouldn't go down without fighting for her King.
In the mean time she would have to watch her beloved kingdom fall ever further.

Arynek looked at the shield Sun tossed her, and then looked back at Sun with a confused look. Does she want her to slide down the stairs on the shield? The girl had no idea how to do it, no a clue at all. "Sun, how can I use it?" When Sun wanted to speak something, a shadow came straight to them.

"You two-"

The shadow's calling drew Arynek's attention, she listened to what the shadow said and looked back to Sun, for what they should do next.

Every time the Voice showed up, there wasn't any good news. But this time, Arynek was glad for the news that Black kingdom may not fall as Silver. However, the Voice asked for battles. Pondering for a while, she made up her mind.

"Although I hate fighting, I don't want to see your kingdom fall, so I'd like to offer my help, the most I can give." She gave a hug to Sun. This girl had been kind to she, taking her around and leading her away from danger. Arynek viewed Sun as a friend, though they just met for a short time. It's time for her to return the flavour, to show that she is with them.

Rex was snapped out of his silent hunger induced sulking, instantly jumping to his feet as the ground under him began to shake, the land crumbling around. Oh hell, not again! But this time there was no where to run, no where to strike. Arrgg! stop it, stop it, STOP IT!

Rex roared as if to stop the land crashing around him. Every time the ground shook, Rex roared louder, defying the land that threatened to fall apart under his voice, defying the voice itself.

And then all was still. Had his roar frightened, had it stopped--too soon. He hissed as the voice spoke again. Though he did not understand fully what it had said, he did not like it, he did not like it at all!

He needed time to think and collect himself, his options, and consider his next plan of attack. This was the third time his life was in danger in the last few days. His first home of the Silver Kingdom fell, and it nearly killed him. The return back to investigate nearly cost him his life yet again. Now, now, this voice speaks of the Black Kingdom falling as well. Gritting his teeth and clenching his fists, he grew angry at the thought. Why does life continue to s**t on him when he finally gets comfortable? Is it that difficult? Life throws its punches and, so far, he had adapted to them. How long he could keep it up remained unknown, but, as a Silver, he had to. It was what they were good at.

Silently, the Wandering Shadow sat upon the top step of SOME RANDOM STAIR CASE.
