The brunette slowly sat up straight and wore the blandest expression he could make. "I-I knew that." he muttered. Deep inside, though, he was flailing about wildly and yelling about why Lock would say such a grotesque word or why it would sound so silly - in all honesty, he'd probably say it just because of how funny it sounded.

But I haven't even finished my food yet." he said, feeling chills go down his spine the longer Lock stared at him like that. "Look, if it's about that double chin thing, I didn't really know what it meant!"

"I didn't give you a ring when I asked your parents for permission. I suppose that means I have to ask you to marry me all over again, and I want you to have an engagement ring that you love wholeheartedly. We should go after you eat to the jewelry store."

He could probably pull it off as some kind of help a friend needed to marry his girlfriend, but if Ethan even let the thought play out of some girl marrying his Lock... Fire was already forming a wall behind the angry brunette as he angrily chomped on his food.

๑۩۞۩๑๑۩ﺴ Some shadows have more depth. ﺴ۩๑ But Ethan was too involved with his imaginary scenario to hear Lock. He could already picture it, angrily seated in the audience as he watched Lock smile that stupid charming smile of his to some giddy and busty girl. The priest pronounced them man and wife, and the two had a pretty heavy kiss. Ethan grit his teeth and tapped his foot impatiently both mentally and physically as his thoughts got stronger and stronger. The imaginary couple pulled away from their kiss, and Lock caressed his wife's cheek while asking,"Are you alright, baby?"A vein pulsed above Ethan's twitching eyebrow, and this was back in reality, Absorbed in his thoughts, he slammed a fist against the table and pointed accusingly across the table at the blonde. "I OBJECT!" he yelled at the top of his lungs.
Two minutes was a very long time. In the first minute Ethan's imagination faded away to reveal him pointing at a very confused Lock, and everyone in the restaurant held an equally confused look as they stared at him in curiosity. In the second minute Ethan reluctantly registered what just happened and blushed with intense humility. Frozen with humiliation, he kept his dignified and defiant pose of pointing at Lock and holding up a fist, though now he had a twitchy smile instead of a infuriated frown.
