Is this some kind of psychological trap? he thought to himself, but shrugged it off and looked back to the class. He waved sheepishly to them. " Uh, hi. I'm, er, Arthur. Arthur Richmond. I'm a senior here and I've been going to this school since I was a freshman, though I don't have any skills, what with being human and all." he broadly introduced. ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon CourtLeon held up his hand to stop his, turning to address the class. " Okay, class. So far, all we know about him are the basics, but we can determine a lot from those. Arthur, I need you to answer a few questions for me." He didn't wait for consent, walking over to the board and starting to write the questions in his neat script. " Do you like sports? Do you believe in Santa? What's your favorite color? Animal? Cologne? Why is the sky blue? How many languages do you speak and why haven't you broadened to others? How long were you bullied as a child? Who was your hero growing up? And, most importantly, does this tie match my eyes?"

___________________________________________________________________________ A comically large bead of sweat rolled down the side of Arthur's head. A trap, just like he expected. What he didn't expect was the onslaught of questions! Pursing his lips, the TA struggled to sort out the questions in his mind and answered them to the best of his abilities. " Ah, umm, er, I like football and soccer. I don't believe in Santa. My favorite animal is the zebra, the great white tiger, and pretty much every black and white animal. My favorite color is magenta, I like Old Spice because it's cheap, I only know English and some Spanish, I won't learn any others because they're expensive and hard to learn. I was bullied during middle school, and my hero was the person who saved me from bullying." He took a moment to catch his breath. " And finally, you're tie is fine." he sighed. ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon Court" Lies!" cried out Leon as he spun and pointed to the TA. " My tie is PERFECT. Better than fine." The teacher laughed heartily, then gestured for him to be seated. " Alright, guys, let's start with the lesson for the day which is Freudism!" The man delved into his lecture, reciting science and philosophy, slowly linking them in to Sigmund Freud's theories and how they applied to today. To the students, it was hard to not be enthralled. When the bell rang, they all took their stacks of homework and slowly walked out. Leon took a breath and sat on the stool once more, looking and smiling at Arthur. " First class out of the way! How do you feel?"

___________________________________________________________________________ Arthur shrank slightly when he was pointed at, but let out a sigh of relief when Leon ended up joking. I thought he said he wouldn't be a cushy homo, he thought to himself, eyes so closed that they were bold lines. He sat through the lesson, finding himself interested in Mr. Court's speech. Leon spoke coherently and with emotion, and he always managed to add an opinion or a joke occasionally so people wouldn't be bored by the facts. He was truly a phenomenal teacher. By the time class ended, Arthur got up in his chair and stretched, sighing when his back cracked. Hearing Mr. Court's question, Arthur sweatdropped and gave him a suspicious look. " This isn't another one of your psychological traps, is it?" he asked warily. ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon CourtHe threw his head back and laughed heartily, manly chest shaking as he slowly, but surely, drifted back to Earth and stopped laughing. " No, it isn't," he chuckled, wiping a tear from his eye. " I'm genuinely curious. But if you want to get psychological, I could always ask about the guy who saved you from bullies and became your hero?"

___________________________________________________________________________ Arthur smiled lightly when he heard, and saw, Mr. Court laugh so hard. At least he didn't make him feel like an idiot. Hearing the question, Arthur paused then smiled again. " Actually, I was going to tell you about it anyway." he said and tilted his head forward so he could better look at the ground. " Back in middle school I was bullied. I wasn't an outcast because of some God-given power or because I lost my parents - Which I didn't, by the way - I was just dealt a bad hand at life and was randomly dubbed the kid to pick on. Only one day it got really bad. These high school kids, freshmen, beat me up for some money, and they just kept going at it - kicking me when I'm down and similar things. Then someone came to help. He stopped them and everyone else from picking on me, then he helped me up and told me that whenever I needed help, all I'd need was to call him." His smile grew tender and nostalgic. " You don't seem to remember, Mr. Court, but the man who helped me-" He looked up. " -was you." ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon CourtHe blinked, unsure of what to say. Back in high school, he'd been a bit of a punk, never really caring about anyone else except himself and his gang. In his youth, Leon rarely paid attention to kids being beaten up, occasionally joining in just to be an a**. " You must be mistaken," he started to say, only to be shot with the memory of his senior year. That was the time that a fellow gang member had finally been killed in a fight, someone who Leon had been friends with for years. It was then that Leon decided to turn his life around, to fight for those he'd beaten up in the past, to become something worthwhile. He'd only come to that decision after he walked home from the funeral, where he saw- " Artie?" Leon slowly walked over, setting one warm, large hand on Arthur cheek and looking at him closely. This couldn't be that scrawny kid from seven years ago! No way! Then, he really looked into Arthur's eyes, and he knew it was the truth. He broke into a grin and wrapped his arms around the teen, hugging him happily. " Oh God, it is you! God, Little Artie R., I barely recognized you! You couldn't have been older than twelve or eleven when I last saw you. Let me look at you." He pulled back, looking over the boy with happy eyes. " Jesus, kid, you really grew up!"

___________________________________________________________________________ Hearing the blunt denial, Arthur began to feel disheartened, but that changed when he heard his old nickname. Smiling brightly, he nodded and hugged Leon back, happy that his hero finally recognized him. " Aha, puberty was good to me. Er, still is." he laughed while rubbing the back of his head bashfully. " Honestly, I could say the same for you! You sure did change from when I last saw you." His smiled widened and he playfully flicked the area between Leon's eyes. " But you've still got that wild look in your eyes from before. That's how I recognized you. Well, that and your purple hair. Not everyone has purple hair." he commented before blushing and looking away. " Ah, sorry. I'm rambling now. It's just so great seeing you again after all these years!" ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon CourtLeon couldn't stop himself from chuckling at the adorable rambling he remembered this kid was prone to doing. " Seven years and you're still the cutest damn thing," he confirmed with a nod before wrapping an arm around Arthur's shoulders and leading him to the door to his office. " We've got to catch up, Artie, seriously! During lunch, you should come and hang out with me and Nikolai. I'll make sure he behaves." He winked, then stopped walking and pulled his arm off of Arthur, crossing them as he leaned on the door frame. " Oh hey, have you gotten any ladies since then? I remember telling you over and over again that girls were going to go nuts over you one day."

" In all honesty, there's someone at this school I've been interested in for a long time." he admitted with a slight blush. ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon Court" Really now?" he asked, reaching into his bottom desk drawer and rifling through some old papers. " Why haven't you asked her out yet? I mean, you weren't exactly shy as a kid, from what I remember. What's holding you back? A-ha! Here it is!" Stepping around the desk, he handed Arthur a picture of a young boy who very closely resembled the teen being carried on the back of a laughing young man who looked a lot like Leon, but younger and less muscled. " Remember this? My brother took it when I got back from university that first year. You were so cute, trying to be mad at me at first, but then hugging me and begging me not to go again. I swear, you were the sweet little brother I always wanted!"

Coraline opened the door then sighed realizing the class had already ended. She leaned against the door dropping her head speaking to the teacher not really aware that there was another person in the class,"I missed the entire class didn't I?"She said not looking up, 18 years old and she still can't remember to wake up for class. She sighed bumping her head against the door softly as a silent way of telling herself she was stupid,"What kind of trouble am I in?"She asked softly lifting her head lightly her green hair falling back just enough to reveal her soft face with dark circles under her eyes a clear sign of lack of sleep.

He paused when he saw Leon looking around for something, but before he could ask, the picture was held up to him. He blinked at it then blushed in embarrassment and looked away. " Aww, I can't believe you still have that picture! So embarrassing..." he grumbled. Suddenly hearing a voice, he turned around to see a student at the doorway. " Oh hello, are you here for second period already?" he asked and looked over at the clock ___________________________________________________________________________

Leon CourtLeon, however cheerful as he usually was, was not amused by the young woman and stood completely straight, arms crossed and frown on his lips. " I won't stand for tardiness," he boomed, moving to stand in front of Arthur, powerful shoulders filling the doorway. " Go report yourself to the office and get a tardy detention slip, then come back for the assignments you so carelessly missed." The teacher didn't care how tired she looked, or how apologetic she could be. He was not the kind of teacher who would accept a tardy student on his first day back. " Go," he shooed, turning his back to her to signify that he was finished speaking to her at the moment. " Arthur, go into the closet and pull out my briefcase, will you? I have next class' assignments in there and you need to hurry to your own next period."
