This new word brought unplesant thoughts to Mayaa, and as she tried her best to push it out of her head, it kept coming back.
"F-f-falling..."
And then she fell. In front of another booth.

Sherry was both unnerved and very curious about this booth. It was odd, to say the least.
This time, when the booth whispered the word Sherry froze. Did it know? Did it know what she was? Was this some kind of warning?
Armagnac said coolly as the cards appeared.
Sherry relaxed a little bit. Just a random word, perhaps? Maybe. But still pain was a word Sherry felt she was well acquainted with. She looked at the offered cards, then made a choice.
NEEDLES
Though she could think of a hundred other words also (and much more relevant to her) related to pain. Islands, vines, dolls, text messages ...It was probably a good thing she just choose from the offered cards. She would have been there all day otherwise.

The current word was really easy for her to relate to, because being a hunter, pain was just something she had to get used to. Physical pain, mental pain... You name it, Deus has it. However, since it was unlikely to find a 'Deus' card in the deck, she went with the next best word that described this line of work.

The words at the apple booth were growing increasingly more disturbing, though Aymet couldn't decide if it was a good or bad thing. Regardless, as he heard the single syllable whispered by an unseen voice, the answer was quick to flash through his mind. Not the cause, but the effect, of pain:

It wasn't difficult for Ariane to come up with a word to describe those words; it wasn't a particularly rare word either. She picked up the card with the word 'No' on it.

Final trial on the No face tart treat....
Arynek looked at the apples and chewed one. She seemed to have presage about what would happen next? A word in mind and card would drop. Just as expected, she heard the word and she knew she should pick a card. Em....this should do.
