Mortimer chose to stand next to the other trainers while still trying to keep track of where Herbert was. It took the elderly trainer awhile to spot his growlithe from the position where he was at, but when he did find him he called out "Bite the tail, now!"
Herbert heard his master's call and ran towards the pokemon, teeth bared and ready to attack.

He was hopeful that it would work, and if it did, well, that would be the attack he would continue to use. If Ialu didn't have to get close, then it was less likely that he would get hit by the Kangaskhan.

Glace tackled hard into the Kangaskhan, but ended up getting recoil damage himself. He had the same hunch as Charlotte, though - this battle is ending soon!

Closing her cold blue eyes River forced out a breath in an attempt to settle her jumbled nerves, she knew that her pokemon was on his last legs so to speak but he was a fierce beast and would be able to handle more punishment.
Snapping her fingers the redhead signaled for Silo to perform yet another attack, swooping down the murkrow readied his claws and peck then unleashed his fury.
"Way to go!"
