Oh, uh....Just ignore the gender manipulations in here. wink Thank the gods. I can't stand american spellings. What have they got against the letter "u", anyway?! Pfft. I got your answer. why we don't use the letter u and why it's license instead of lisence. it's because of the blueback speller. after the americans broke away from the british we decided to educate the children the american way which apparently includes a new way of spelling. American spelling is just a way to differentiate americans from the british. but this happened like forever ago so i doubt anyone really cares. hehe learned that in am. hist. mrgreen Never knew that. I was wondering what it would be like if America was still owned by Britain. Everyone would have an english accent, americans would drive on the left side of the road, Pounds sterling would be used instead of dollars, Tony Blair would be in control of half the world eek and Britain would be mega rich!!

I wouldn't mind america being part of Britain. it might go pretty well and I wouldn't mind using the lb. then if i ever decide to travel to britain i wouldn't need conversions. and my costume wouldn't seem so damn expensive. i just got info that my outfit actually cost 115 american... you know i really wish that america was part of britain now... i mean look how we're turning out as a country. wasteful and not very bright and not very attentive either. i mean what was so bad about paying a couple of taxes and housing a few troops. if the officials were corrupt uncorrupt them!! and omg dlike we really needed to move further west and intrude on territory that doesn't belong to us.

yalie5 I wouldn't mind america being part of Britain. it might go pretty well and I wouldn't mind using the lb. then if i ever decide to travel to britain i wouldn't need conversions. and my costume wouldn't seem so damn expensive. i just got info that my outfit actually cost 115 american... you know i really wish that america was part of britain now... i mean look how we're turning out as a country. wasteful and not very bright and not very attentive either. i mean what was so bad about paying a couple of taxes and housing a few troops. if the officials were corrupt uncorrupt them!! and omg dlike we really needed to move further west and intrude on territory that doesn't belong to us. Yeh, it would be cool if america was still a colony. I read somewhere that many people believe that africa should've remained a part of the british empire. I can see why, as there's just so much going wrong in africa. Perhaps if it had stayed british then none of it's famines, civil wars, etc would've broken out. Plus robert mugabe wouldn't be in charge of zimbabwe anymore, which would be great. He's such a f**. stare

I don't know that much about america, and I thought bush was alright before the new orleans incident. But I guess everone was right - he is an idiot after all. Not really the ideal man to represent such a great superpower methinks.

I mean it's still quite a central country in world issues and has good potential - if only someone could take it by the horns and steer it in the right direction.

I wouldn't like America still being a colony of Britain; I simply think that Britain is nice as it is, and after all it's much harder to keep a larger country together and all loyal to the same gov't etc (look at the USSR)..
..the US is still definitely a world superpower, and the only one right now; but China is (as we know) catching up and will become one in the next 50-100 years or so. America owe China so much money that the two countries have become interdependent..
