Nixie sighed. "Will it really take that long? I want this house off my hands as quickly as possible. And I was hoping to get out of land-locked-Switzerland even sooner. I was hoping to head to the Italian villa next. It's right next to the ocean."

"It would go faster with more people." She said seemingly disinterested when in fact she was just focused on her surroundings. "Though, I'm sure you're not interested in pulling anyone else into this. The good news is that blueprints will help speed it up if you have them. Especially considering that it will give Austin something to do and save me the trouble of looking them over for possible hidey holes."

"Fine, I'll get you the blueprints, and I'll ask Austin to find us a long-term residence that doesn't have any dead bodies," Nixie consented. "Are you sure there's no way you can sniff around for salty leather or anything?"

"Yeah, I could. But there are a couple of flaws with that plan. First off, this place smells of a thousand different things and all of them are faint. Picking out a single scent like that would be difficult even if you could find something that smelled the same. Secondly, I like being thorough. Besides, you wouldn't want to miss it, have the place sold and then have to figure out how to break in and steal it would you?" The place was so big she didn't know where to start. So, she decided to check out the room where the dead girl was found. She turned around and said "I'll start looking, you go get the blue prints and tell Austin to look for possible oddities."

"Wait--Austin can't be anywhere near the coat. Not even by chance," Nixie argued, suddenly alarmed. . "I don't want him poking around here if you find it." She needed to get back to work or people would start to gossip; her working vacation only extended so long and there were other properties... finding her coat could take years.

"He's gonna get curious no matter what we do and eventually he's going to come snooping around. It's better to keep him busy. Besides, he can do his work on the blueprints from the new residence that he chooses for us to stay in." Kaori wasn't sure if Austin would actually do something to hurt Nixie in such a selfish way but, she was sure that he wouldn't turn into another Sovenn if he did. She didn't know what to feel about Austin. He seemed more interested in Nixie than in her and she didn't want to be the 'second best' option to anyone. Arguing wasn't something that Kaori wanted to do right now but this time she knew she was right. "So?"

"I...suppose..." Nixie admitted. It would have been so much easier if Austin had just accepted the termination package she'd tried to force on him weeks ago. If she told him they were looking for whatever the organized-crime types wanted, maybe that would satisfy him. "As my consultant, you have discretion in these matters. Do you need any specialized equipped? Stud finder? Diamond-tipped drill?"

"Umm... I couldn't say what I'll need just yet but I'll let you know when I do. In the mean time, get those blue prints to Austin and then come and find me." Suddenly she realized that wearing a skirt was going to come back to bite her. She would eventually be crawling around in tight spaces and she didn't want to do that in a skirt. In fact, she would much rather be naked than in a skirt for this line of work. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Nixie sighed and went back out to Austin in the car. "Austin, I need you to dig up the blueprints for the chalet," she told him briskly. "Kaori will brief you on what to do. Also, we need new hotel accommodations for the next week or two. Can you take care of all that?" "Yes, ma'am," he replied. He flipped open his phone and started making the arrangements.

Kaori traced her steps back to the room where Nixie had found the corpse. She could still smell the decay despite the heavy odor of cleaning supplies and people. She sat down in the middle of the room and closed her eyes. She relaxed and let the scents, sounds and motions take over. After a few minutes she opened her eyes and got up. Nothing had struck her as odd in the room. There were no currents of air or odd smells. So she resorted to running her paw along every surface. Eventually she came to laying on her back underneath a desk. She gave a few curses as her skirt rolled up. "If I were a billionaire, cheating, lowlife... where would I hide something that I didn't want anyone to find?" She mused to herself out loud.

"We have reservations for a luxury suite at the Dolder Grand just outside of Zurich," Austin reported. "The technical plans for the building are in the local architect's office. I remember the company Sovenn used to...renovate this place. Should I go in and see if Kaori needs my help or should I head for the architect?" "Check on Kaori, then drive me to the hotel. I'll work there while you get the papers from the architect," Nixie decided. She sat down in the car and started sending e-mails again, this time to the Zurich police to make funerary arrangements for the dead prostitute. Austin got out and ventured inside the chalet. He couldn't find Kaori at first, but he suspected her inquisitive personality would lead her right to the secret room. He found her, sitting still. He waited at the entryway until she noticed him.

Kaori was still focused on the bottom of the desk when she heard footsteps approach. She knew it was Austin which surprised her. She had been expecting Nixie. "If you're done enjoying the view could you come help me?" She didn't bother to roll her skirt back to a modest position but she sat up crosslegged and gave him a smile. "Can you pull this top drawer out while I'm down here? be careful though, if we find anything, it's likely to have a fail safe."

"I think you're giving Sovenn too much credit," Austin mused as he walked over to help Kaori. He kept his eyes glued to her ears to keep from embarrassing himself. The last thing he needed was a boner when she was on her knees. He gripped the drawer and gingerly pulled it out.

"Hmm..." Kaori mused as she laid back down. She touched the bottom of the drawer with her paw and said "Here's something" She pushed her finger into a hole in the bottom of the drawer and the fake bottom panel of the drawer lifted up. "Mind pulling that out?" she said and then immediately regretted having said it that way. Her ears twitched as she gave a small giggle.

"That's what she said," he muttered under his breath as obliged, lifting the false bottom up and away. A blank envelope was revealed. He set the drawer on top of the desk, but didn't touch the envelope yet. This was Kaori's show, after all.
