[Tambrey]
Kratos took the glass that the server brought back for him with a quiet thank you, and surveyed the crowd once more before turning his focus onto the speaker. "Good - I'd rather not waste more time than necessary." When Tambrey nudged him, he almost but not quite jumped at the unexpected combat. "So I see," he said simply. He didn't want to risk saying more and potentially miss something important. Not that anything important was likely to be said right away, but still. Perhaps this formal function would be worth attending yet.
... Maybe, anyway.

[Blue Boy, Ivory]
Repede remained seated and looked up at Yuri as he walked away. The Growlithe stood up and Yuri paused as the kid went somewhere else. Both of their gazed followed the strange boy before the man looked down at his companion.
"Don't worry about it, Repede. Its not our problem."
The dog seemed to agree and followed after Yuri as he made his way back to Ivory.
"Hey, sorry about that. I offer you a tribute."
And with that, the man held the tray of food towards the girl as if it were some offering meant to appease her.
[Tymiko]
Tymiko never got a reply as she suddenly seemed interested in seeing what the announcement was about.
"Let's go," Seth told her, walking quickly back to the area of the party, but not running. This is what they'd come here for, after all. Or at least, he assumed that's why the girl was here.

[POKEYMANZ PARTY]
Opal liked hugs, so she wasn't about to shoo away any of such coming from the Chingling. The Eevee let out a soft churring until the Chingling was off to the next hug-victim.
However, the compliment seemed to catch her a bit off guard, her ears twitching slightly at the label. "...Vee?" she repeated at the label of "shiny." Ivory-friend had used that terminology on occasion, but it was spoken of so infrequently that the false Eevee wasn't truly sure what that meant. So her response was simple.
Opal is Opal. "Eevee vee Eevee." She smiled, squinting slightly at the Chingling before rather suddenly shifting forms. Her body glowed for a moment before her form changed from the fluffy Eevee to a smaller less furry Chingling. However, instead of being a perfect replica, she was pure white, even the tassels seeming to lack any color. The only part of her with color were her eyes, which remained their usual red color. Fortunately for lil'Maiko-friend, she could still somewhat balance on the tassels, should she have wanted to.
Delic-friend's plan did end up receiving her attention. Pinkie-friend spoke up first, so all Opal had to do was bounce up and down, making a similar bell chime with the movement. It was the best she could do to nod, though she was certain to add a couple "Ching ching ching!" to state her approval.

(Aulus)
When he squeezed her hand, she squeezed back gently and offered him a smile. The Butterfree had stopped, and all that remained was them and he was smiling at her and it was just perfect. "Sounds good to me," she said before beginning to head closer to the stage. "I can't wait to hear what they have to say." Hopefully it was interesting and worth reporting, but if they'd thrown such a big party for the League, it had to be at least good enough to justify the expenses.
*************
(Emil, Rosie, Luke)
Anastasia churred happily when Emil chuckled, but instead of continuing to lick his fingers, she twisted and started rubbing against his legs and bumping her head against his hand. "Breee~"
"Well of course not," Sera huffed as she folded her arms over her chest, for once agreeing with Luke. "We've been working so hard -- well, you guys were working hard, so they can't expect all of us to just go back to whatever we were doing before." Except that was exactly what she was considering, because why should she keep working hard when other people were there to work hard for her? Work smarter, not harder.

[Yuri + Repede]
The girl, while she sat alone, began to fuss with her purse slightly, trying to put the useless card into one of the compartments. After that, she momentarily dared to take off one of her pink boots and roll her ankle slightly.
She could handle wearing heels and not looking like she was in pain, but it didn't mean she didn't like to rest her feet when she had the chance. Amidst this, she did manage to hear a voice coming from a microphone. More than likely some sort of official for this gathering. As if she realized it was disrespectful to be partially barefoot, she scrambled to get her boot back onto her foot.
She had just managed to shove her foot back into her boot when a familiar voice addressed her.
"Tribute?" she chuckled as she jerked herself upright. Now that she wasn't looking at her own foot, she could see two dark blurs, rather than just the one. "Did Repede decide to come visit?" She smiled before leaning down to offer her hand towards him to sniff if the puppy-Pokemon wished to. "How are you doing today?"
Though she was still offering the Pokemon her hand, she finally noticed the mentioned tribute. "Oh... um... wow... th-thank you Yuri..." Her cheeks took a bit of color again, but it had everything to do with the fact that the amount he had gathered made her feel very self conscious of the amount she had taken so far. It wasn't everyday she got to eat such nice food, but now she felt as if she was being a Tepig.
"...um... hopefully you two will be willing to share this with me... maybe Opal if she decides to come and check up with me at some point..." With her unoccupied hand, she gestured to the food, inviting the other two to take some if they wanted.

[Ivory]
Yuri definitely hadn't been intending to make Ivory feel self conscious, but then.. his mind worked like a man's, and he was generally clueless about how girls thought. Guys liked to eat lots of food and generally didn't care about their figure. Plus, he thought it would be much easier to do it this way then continue to grab food off passing trays every now and then.
"Yeah, sure," Yuri said, holding the tray in one hand and then taking one of the snacks off and popping it in his mouth. His attention now mostly diverted towards the speaker, waiting for the announcement. He also took a moment to drop a piece of food down towards Repede, who caught it in his mouth.

(POKEPALS!)
Maiko had been thoroughly enjoying playing with Opal's tail fur when Delic came along so hadn't reacted to the Chingling at first. When he complemented her however she turned her attention to him with a pleased twitch of a foreleg. "Spin, ra in." She though he was quite lovely himself, even with no lovely fur to play with. His question about if they wanted to help him with couples sounded interesting enough. Maybe playing with people's hair would make them more attractive to their mates?! That idea pleased the spider greatly.
Then Opal changed. Maiko Looked down from where she was perched with a surprised 'Spina!' but balanced correctly. She sadly poked one of the tassels, all her hard work on that lovely tail fur gone. Then she perked up and started to arrange the tassels. All was not lost! This just meant that Opal could be ENDLESS fun!

(Asch)
Natalia gave a small smile then folded her hands once Asch let go, thankful she had passed her glass to a waiter when they had been moving, so she didn't reach for him again. She blinked then followed Asch's eyes when they landed on Luke.

(Frost)
"To be honest I mainly asked if you wanted to go to see you in a tuxedo." Xander admitted with a smile and light blush. "And it wouldn't hurt to help keep an eye on things." He added on more as an after thought. "Though if you wanted we could go somewhere less crowded and dance or something." The music stopped though after he said that and someone was up on the stage. "Or we could stick around to see what he has to say."

[everyone]
"They say everything takes a long time in politics," Weidman began, "including getting someone up on stage."
There was a pause filled with some polite laughter, because some people will laugh at anything being said by a public speaker.
"You're all here for answers and promises," the blue-suited man went on, his voice carrying across the grassy lawn, "or at least a night out and free food. That's all right; more ears to listen. I don't need to go on about the problems on this island; enough of you here have had run-ins with our little pest problem." A pause, before he added, "Maybe some of you here are part of our little pest problem."
In the rhododendrons, an aide wrinkled their brow.
'That's not the right speech!'
'Why wasn't he the one who got seasick?'
"Don't be too shocked." The man at the podium's tone was merry, bordering on irreverent. "They've had three years to dig in; Team Rocket's in every corner of the island now, and scouring them out will depend not just on how many Champions we send in but on how much you all want them gone. I'll leave logistics to the mayor-" Weidman nodded at a man with a comb-over advancing on the stage, "-but everyone here can know this: the League's here. You can get used to it."
"And try the tiramisu." With that addition he hopped down, somewhat sloshing the punch in his glass. The mic was passed to the nonplussed mayor as Weidman merged into the crowd.

Harvard merely nodded acknowledgment at Hayes' greeting to her, before skimming the table for the various refreshment options. Bypassing the flutes of alcoholic beverages, she helped herself to a small plastic cup of regular fruit punch. For one, it wouldn't impede on her judgement. Secondly, the disposable cup meant any attempts to retrieve DNA would be further hindered by the hundreds of matching cups that joined it in the trash. Some called it being paranoid. Harvard called it being thorough.
So far, things seemed to be going well. Everyone was behaving, at least enough so to where no unwanted attention was being drawn. And it seemed Hayes had found someone he knew. Or maybe he didn't but liked blondes? She couldn't remember seeing the woman when being given the partial tour... Then again, Hayes worked in the tech labs and left Lord of the Ring references taped to doors, how many women outside of his department could he possibly know? Or even people in general? Changing thought trains, the Elite stared steadily after the odd man hoping up on stage. If the speech or announcement the man was supposedly going to give went well, perhaps she could even leave the party early and get back to work-
Maybe some of you here are part of our little pest problem.
...So much for getting back to the office early. Now she'd have to stay like the regular oh-so-concerned citizens. Harvard cast around to see the responses others were having, though for the most part her expression stayed neutral throughout the remainder of the "speech." Calmly, she opened and reached into her purse, where her PDA remained hidden from when it had been stowed earlier. There were messages that needed sending.

[Ivory]
Yuri stood and listened to the guy on stage, occasionally tossing food into his mouth, but definitely leaving more than enough for Ivory. However, his smirk lit up his face again as the man finished.
"Heh. I like that guy," Yuri commented.
Short and to the point. No flowery speech and saying what was important. Perhaps this League wasn't all that bad, but that's what he'd come here to find out. It was part of the reason he'd let Tymiko drag him over.
[Natalia]
Tearing his gaze away from Luke, Asch directed his attention to the stage as some man began talking. His face remained impassive and unreadable, but he again took one of Natalia's hands, hoping to redirect her attention towards him and/or the speaker. And away from the fact that he was watching the trainer group from the corner of his eye.
[Sera, Rosie, Luke]
"She's very cute," Emil said towards Sera while petting the Umbreon as it rubbed up against his legs. He really liked Anastasia, and maybe one day he could get a Pokemon just like her.
"I have a Pokemon kinda like her too," he then added happily. Kinda like her meaning it was pink, had hearts, and was a dark type. "Would you like to see?" After all, Sera seemed to appreciate cute Pokemon like he did. Surely she'd like to meet some of his too!

So. That was the announcement? Tambrey listened, glass cupped in hand, and blinked a little as she heard the man speculate that some of them might even be part of 'pest problem'. Well. If that wasn't going to remind people to be annoyingly vigilant. At least, she thought, most of them were probably not too recognisable; especially all dressed up like this. Her surprised blink, though she regretted it for only a moment, was reasoned out in her brain; other people not in Team Rocket probably performed similar expressions at being reminded of the idea. She lifted her drink to take a sip, and have a sly glance at Kratos to see his reaction, or rather (she suspected) his lack of one; this ability to keep such a poker face about everything was bizarrely interesting. Her brain christened him 'Bruce'. She looked again to see where Weidman went as he hopped from the stage, then looked back to see what the mayor would say. "Not quite the length I was expectin' after that wait," She muttered; then again, she mentally shrugged, the mayor was still up there.

[Yuri + Repede]
The dark haired man started off with munching on the treats, so after a couple had been gobbled up, Ivory seemed to feel okay with grabbing a couple pieces as well and taking a couple bites.
She did have to pause from her efforts to let out a polite laugh at the joke said into the microphone. It was kind of true though, but that was half of humor was telling the truth in an unexpected manner.
She was about to put a bit more in her mouth when he once more sputtered up a truth she hadn't expected. Though this time, it was a bit more serious. Her first instinct was to look around at the people surrounding her, though it didn't really do that much good. It wasn't like she could see all the details like most other people.
The next thing to pop up in her mind was also quite important.
Opal
Her Pokemon didn't know about the dangers of Team Rocket. In fact, Opal wasn't even a part of her life during the issues in Goldenrod, meaning her friend was extra naive to the situation. Which meant that Opal was potentially playing with some really dangerous people or Pokemon.
"...R-Repede... can you do me a huge favor?" The girl leaned away from the table and towards where the Growlithe sized blob of color was. "...can you keep an eye on Opal if you see her...?" In all honesty, she really just wanted to latch onto the false ditto and hug her almost like a security blanket, but she knew that she'd be acting a little too nervous if she did something like that. When she and Opal got home, maybe she could do that out of the public eye.
Straightening herself out again, she glanced to the tray of food in front of her.
Nothing killed an appetite like worry. Despite how delicious it all seemed earlier, now it didn't look nearly as appetizing.

[Kunai]
The friend's request was met with hesitation and discomfort, "Well..." But she was the more submissive of the two, the 'good girl' who followed her daring friend into new and wondrous waters, and so she couldn't turn her down. "Oh, all right. But only a little!" With a slight wave of her hand to provide a silent 'be right back,' "Angie" entered the crowd and maneuvered in the appropriate direction. She feigned her hurry - a simple feat given her evident personality type as docile and polite - and listened carefully to the conversations she heard as she crossed the area. There was a lot of simple mingling going on, a lot of polite conversation and blatant flirting. There were a few groups actually discussing the event in more depth than how plausible it was to obtain non-alcoholic beverages, one of which was comprised of relatively young individuals - trainers, likely, who were indeed quite invested in the forthcoming announcement. The words she overheard indeed supported that.
Listening intently all the while, Catherine obtained a pair of glasses of... something. She wasn't particularly knowledgeable in the various types of alcohol, but judging from the shape of the glass, it was probably some kind of wine or champagne or something. Inwardly she made a face. Necessary evils. She returned to the elite at an equally leisurely hurry, taking in all the conversation along the way. "Hey, here you go," she said, offering the glass with a slightly mischievous smile. Her eyes flicked briefly to the stage as the announcement began. The words being said were interesting indeed...

[Sera, Rosie, Emil]
Luke felt eyes upon him and searched the crowd for its source, meeting Asch's gaze briefly. It figured that he was here, and of course he was with Natalia. He frowned slightly; if Asch was here, did that mean there were other Rockets as well? Should he call attention to it? There were League officers present, so it seemed like the timing couldn't be better, but at the same time, the scale of the event was huge - how many innocent people would be caught up in it if Team Rocket was indeed there and fought back? No, it was a bad idea. Luke deliberately turned his attention from his brother back to to the small group to which he was party, letting the situation go without comment.
He was sort of surprised to hear Seraphine agree so readily, as if it went without saying, and it was simultaneously reassuring to know that he wasn't the only one who felt as such on the matter. Luke nodded in concordance with her words - though not with her thoughts. He would have disagreed quite promptly had she vocalized those.
Someone upon the stage began to speak, attracting the boy's attention. He had been starting to wonder if he had misinterpreted the message that the League would be giving an address; it was nice to see that that wasn't the case, given that that was more or less the only reason he had attended. Seemed it was that guy again, the pushy one with the business cards. Some of you here. Well, Luke could confirm that one easily enough, having seen his brother. It was frustrating, but what could be done? Hopefully the League would back up those words.
Something to his side managed to attract the young noble's attention from the podium - Emil was offering to show his pokemon. Luke was aware of two of the boy's pokemon: the Igglybuff he'd been carrying when they met and the Sharpedo he had caught during the failed fishing excursion. And if it was a pokemon like Anastasia, a dark-type with heart-shaped markings, then he probably wasn't referring to the Igglybuff. "Emil, wait a minute, that's probably not a good idea..."

At first, she was a little excited to dance with Rory for a bit and she was prepared to laugh at her… friend? Yeah that word still fits in her vocabulary for him, because she knew he couldn’t dance and his statement confirmed her suspicions. The dance started slow and she was fine with that, hell, she was more than fine with it. But she noticed the music came to a close and as it did, she thought saw someone heading up to the podium (Rory’s superior height kept her from really seeing anything). So someone was about to make a speech huh? Could they keep dancing at least?
Rory’s stopping let her know that there was no way to ignore this, so she settled for stopping and hoped that this would be quick so she could get back to having fun, clearly the mission to gather information was taking a backseat right now, until she felt her hand being moved. She decided to see what was going on with her hand, and then really wished she could hide her emotions better. There was another scarlet red blush heating up her cheeks again was she watched Rory barely kiss her knuckles with a…wink?
Someone didn’t seem as nervous now…
A smile was about to form until she heard:
"Maybe some of you here are part of our little pest problem."
She knew what that meant, and it didn’t sound good at all. It wasn’t hard to act mildly surprised like most of the civilians around her at the statement, but it did put the tiny red head a little on edge. Something was about to go down and she needed to stop fooling around and listen, lest she need to hot tail it out of here…
And at the mentioning of the League, she knew things were going to get serious from now on. A small smile started to quirk at the edges of her mouth, the hand holding on to Rory’s squeezing a little tighter with anticipation now. s**t was going to hit the fan soon and MAYBE running away wasn’t starting to sound as appealing now.
