Nevermind, back to the girls it was for the pale crimson. It was interesting, Akaya thought, how many of the Impressions had been girls this time around. But gender did not matter much at the weyr, so long as one was willing to work hard and do their duty. Speaking of duties... She raised her brows at the silver below. Was he...he couldn't be...oh dear. She tried to hold back giggles as the young male dragon posed and postured. He was pretty, but...well, she supposed silvers carried their reputations for a reason.

Freniar laughed. "Yes you should have. Excellent call." It was great to see that the crimson found Hers. Right after though, the silver the emerged, demanded by his stance, that all eyes should be on him. Solath nudged the lads hand, bringing his attention back to the blue. You know that you are always first on my list. He gave the blue a good rub and some more meat.

F'ren was again happy at another sucessful Impression. He missed the initial hatching of the Silver and so didn't see the flaring of his wings, he eye on the pale Crimson. When he did turn and look at the Silver he was surprised that it wasn't closer to the candidates, was it so weak that it had no strength to move? .... No.. no this Silver wasn't sagged or looking exhausted, more that.. he didn't NEED to move to find His, they were lacking a Gold in this clutch but shards if this Silver didn't carry himself like one.

"Thanks again!" She couldn't help smiling at the blue rider. She bumped her shoulder into him playfully. She didn't even know his name but so far she liked him. Dizzian nudged Courath gently. "Hey, what do you think of him?" She grinned teasingly as she watched Courath blink sleepily at the newly hatched silver. The little green snorted and laid her head back down.
~ All flash, no substance ~ Her remark sent Dizz into another fit of laughter, this time holding still enough to not disturb Courath.

"Assuming she won't be spending the next week simply carving meat," S'ren replied jokingly. Oh Weyrlinghood, soooo much feeding and cleaning. And pretty much twice as much for those with atypicals. He was glad Tereth had been a brown.
He had been concerned for the young crimson when she had first started calling out, but after a few calls it seemed that she was finally able to spot Hers amongst the ranks of Candidate. Only one egg left now.

Akaya's clear amusement amused S'koi in turn. "Never seen a preening silver before?" he asked innocently, trying to determine the specific source of amusement. The little male below certainly did seem to hold a more self-important air than usual though. Especially with the way that he posed for all the world to see. It was probably a good thing that he was the last dragon on the Sands; S'koi doubted he'd have tolerated any brothers or sisters stealing the show.

The silver stayed where he was, looking down his snout at the assembled Candidates with an imperious stare. He ruffled his wings, tucked them neatly against his sides and stayed put.
Only his head turned from side to side as he silently surveyed every one of the visible Candidates and found them lacking. Inhaling, he puffed out his chest and kept his head high as he stood, shuffled and turned his back on the assembled Candidates in all encompassing dismissal.
What that could possibly mean was hard to guess.

Freniar nudged her back. "Want to guess with him?" He peered at the rest, his eyes scanning to see who might match him, just from the initial view.

"...does he not like getting last pick?" Lena mused aloud, eyeing the showy silver. Or perhaps he meant for them to approach him and bow as if he were the queen of the clutch? It really was hard to tell exactly what his gesture meant, but his displeasure was quite clear. He didn't seem to be going anywhere, at least? It wasn't unheard of from a dragon to pick from the Stands' audience - perhaps he fancied his odds better out amongst the crowd?

Did the silver just dismiss the candidates? What was the dragon looking for anyway? Well then again most of the candidates were rather dust covered and didn't look particularly impressive next to his majesty there. Chuckling low under her breath Hekate shifted through the crowd for a slightly closer look at the preening silver.

Dizzian's cheer began to wane as the silver didn't move. His huffing wasn't a good sign either. While he wasn't tearing franticly through the candidates, it was clear he hadn't found his among those standing before him. Would be between like his sister? She hoped not, not only for him but also selfishly for herself. She didn't want to end the Hatching she'd met Courath at on a tragic note. It was bad enough they'd lost two hatchlings, a candidate and almost lost another. Dizzian shrugged at Freniars question. It felt almost like bad luck to guess on one that might between. Still she turned her gaze to the Candidates.
"Ummm....I don't know...How about her?" She pointed to Siano.

He looked, "Nah. His is probably out in the Stands somewhere." It was his best guess as watched the silver. He should find his soon. I want to rest.

Cetalese found herself leaning forward in her seat, although she was taking in the dismissed Candidates and the crowd as much as the haughty Silver. He didn't seem to like his selection, and while she was fairly sure his standing still was a tactic designed to hide that he was exhausted, he was obviously willing to take his time choosing from the audience at large. There might very well be a Stands Impression, which was almost unheard of, or so the rumor went.

"I've heard of it happening before. I know Optheli and her brother were both Stands Impressions....do you really think it'll happen again?" It was an interesting though. She wouldn't be able to pick someone out of the vast amount of people watching the Hatching though. At that distance she couldn't even discern individual faces let alone see rank marks to tell her who was already a Rider and who wasn't.

The silver's gaze shifted to the Audience, lingering on people here and there but ultimately moving on. He hadn't tried to move - didn't feel the need or the obligation, apparently. As a silver, as him, he deserves all the attention and all the respect because he was special.
His eyes, however, began to whirl with colours of distress as he still did not see his, and he called out - loud, demanding, and beckoning.

"I'm assuming he doesn't find any of the current Candidates to be 'worthy' of him," S'ren mused, watching the silver down below. Of course, if he would have none of the Candidates... that either meant he'd choose from the Stands or go Between. He was rather hoping the silver went with the former option...

"Still hungry?"
Very much so.
"Alright." Roeline took another piece of meat from the table and carefully fed it to her dragon, only paying minimal attention to the rest of the Hatching now. She did glance up in time though to see the young silver turning his back on the Candidates. Well that was... strange. Was he expecting there to be more behind him?
My brother is rather particular, Wolfth remarked, not seeming overly concerned. Of course, he is not quite as skilled in choosing as I am. He might be were he a bit less concerned with showing off.
... Roeline had the feeling that there was something almost amusing about this conversation, but she couldn't quite place why... Oh well. She turned her attention back onto taking care of Wofth and grabbed another piece of meat for him to eat. She needed to keep him niiiice and fed. heart
