 Maisujin Kazayo Kinja sighed. "Trust me, I know the feeling. In my case, it was sheer stubbornness that kept me alive, even after two punctured lungs, a broken back, and a fractured skull after a Blitz hurled me through a steel wall after slamming me like a freakin` rag doll several times on the floor," he said dryly. "It was then that my demonic side, inherited from my uncle and father awakened... trust me, that hurt like hell; felt like someone had dumped hydrogen flouride down my throat and sulfuric acid in my bones," he said idly.

"I know how that feels," Lyre said. "I was Human after all, not a demon. Becoming one feels like that. Being summoned feels the same." She sighed and turned to look at him. "This world has changed little since I died."

Maisujin Kazayo Kinja sighed. "As was I... until I died from a zanbatou through the gut... came back as a half demon due to my father's nature... then I ended up doing what both him and my uncle had tried and at least partially succeeded in: sealing the demonic dimensions from the human dimensions. Technically, I'm more two thirds demon now than full demon... I've seen my other uncle's demonic Devil Trigger form, and honestly, I would rip my own heart from my chest before I turn into that; I have nothing against demons as a whole, but the ones that feed on humans..." he said dryly with a shrug. "Kinda obviious I didn't succeed half as well as they did," he sighed.

Crystal shrugged. "The food here is as bad as the food at the orphanage I grew up in," she muttered.

"It is still something in your stomach, which is rather empty right now so eat something." Marth told her as he stood up from the table and moved the plate over to where the other dirty ones were waiting.

Maisujin Kazayo Kinja shifted slightly. "My father mentioned there were abilities like that, though neither he nor I can be sure how it'd affect me," he admitted sheepishly. He took a deep breath as he felt his skin darken from the deeply bronzed tan it normally was to a deep golden brown like amber crystals with odd glowing blue tribal markings running around his arms. His irises shifted from the bluish lavender they normally were to a deep golden yellow that glowed faintly. "This is the closest I've gotten to a full demonic form... and preferably it's the closest I'll ever get," he said, knowing his voice was deeper and held more of a growl since his canines were lengthened to nearly a inch and a half in length while most of his other teeth had gained slight points to them.

A black aura suddenly surrounded Lyre. She knew he could see it. "My mark reacts to other demons," she said. "As for my true form, I pray you never see it."

Maisujin Kazayo Kinja cocked his head, shifting his weight. "If it's more beautiful than your current form, then I'd be in trouble," he said with a teasing note in his voice before he spun as a body was hurled at his back before it slammed him backwards into the snow. The demon was nearly nine and a half feet tall, with three massive claws on each hand and armored forearms and knees. It had a single horn on its helmeted head which identified it as a Blitz, other than the crackling dark gold electrical aura around it. When it turned and roared, Kinja noticed a healed slash that ran from under its helmet down the right cheekbone and down into the armor on its torso. "Damn it... how the hell did one of those get into the camp without an alarm being raised? That's the Blitz that damn near killed me," he snarled, his grip shifting to the sheathed katana at his hip.

Lyre was on the demon before he could draw his sword. Her own katana was drawn and she drove it into the demon's chest. "You might want to be faster," she called out.

Maisujin Kazayo Kinja's eyes narrowed as he took two rapid steps and blurred as he increased his speed. The Blitz growled as electricity arced up the embedded katana, but snarled as its right leg was taken cleanly off at the knee. His hand snapped upward, grabbing the horn before he jerked hard, snapping the horn off short. The Blitz gave a howl of pain before Kinja spun, ramming the horn square through the back of its neck at the base of its oversized skull hard enough for the horn to stick out the front of its thick neck.
