Calder was looking around. "Wait? Am I the only one that doesn't know what you are all talking about?"

"Hand?" The Vetala paused, staring down at the hand in question. Oh. Uh. Whoops. "I um...hurt it with the bone knife, I guess?" It was a simple explanation and one she was ready to shrug off. It was just a finger. She had seven others and two thumbs; she'd be fine. If it was still that bad when they went back to Amity, then she's just get it replaced.

"No, you're not." She informed Calder; she was just as lost about this whole glyph thing! But if it was that dangerous...maybe she should avoid it? Maybe. "Shun, let me bandage that for you?" That bleeding leg was bothering her, apparently.

"It wanted. To. EAT ME," Roch summed up. "It was like the tube all over again but worse in some ways cuz there was screaming and images and hands and--Jack... I don't know," he admitted, rolling onto his back and looking at Danny. "Just tell people not to go into the room at the base of the big tree."

Yin had it so wrong. So very, incredibly wrong. But Alex didn't know that. Alexander was just relieved that Yin was putting the protection charms away, slipping them back beneath his waistband and out of sight. But still he talked, as though now that he started he couldn't stop, not for anything.

"You know, my mom has talked to me about this kind of thing so many times it just never occurred to me that other people wouldn't know. She really probably is the best person to explain it all to you." Even as Yin took the phone out of his hand, Alex was still trapped in this haze of embarrassment, unable to think past it or move on or anything else. Yin was speaking, but it was like Alex just could not hear him.

"She uh..she even gave me another lecture about it when we went to visit my family together. As soon as she figured out that I liked you...." He reached up to run a hand through his hair several times, messing it up more so then it already was from a day of trudging around the jungle and training exercises. But still, talking, not stopping. Stopping would mean facing Yin and facing the fact that this conversation was even happening. It was horrible. Dimly, somewhere in the back of his mind something was telling him that he needed to stop. To stop now. Just stop talking. But he couldn't stop.

Oh jack but he should have stopped.

"First night home she even dumped a bunch of protection charms on my lap." He laughed, and it was a strained and nervous sound. "Like it was nothing, just, here you go Alex, you might need these. Of course, I told her I wouldn't ever need them because..." he stopped, suddenly realising what he was saying.

"Not that I don't want to or anything!" His voice got louder then, until he realized once more that they weren't alone, and he hunched over, more embarrassed then before "I mean....I just...I've never thought about it yet...like..it would be nice to at least be kissed first..really." His voice was getting quieter and quieter, and his face was turning a darker and darker shade of pink as he hunched forward and stared down into his lap, refusing to look up now. There were not many topics of conversation that Alex would shy away from, that would make him break eye contact and refuse to raise his eyes again, but it would seem that this was one of them.

Yin was going to have to come up with a good way to break him out of this quickly or it was probably going to continue to deteriorate.

"It almost felt like the kind of place that was meant to be locked up to me..." Shehk noted, frowning after Calder as he dragged Amrita off, her lips tightening into a sort of grimace.

"Oh man..do you think the Horsemen will be angry at us for finding that place, though? Because..... well, I didn't really get that 'join usssss' thing from it," she probably had trailed her 's's in honor of Jericho when he got paranoid, "but it definitely...tried to eat me." she flexed her fingers before slumping a bit and putting said fingers back to a more pleasurable use - texting Jericho.

"Well okay but...make sure that you get it done okay?" Amrita frowned, fidgeting with the bottom hem of her shirt. The more her schoolmates talked about the place, the more she was certain she never ever wanted to go there. Alas it was apparently not her decision to make as suddenly Calder had her arm...and then she was being dragged out the door. Uhh - wait - what?!

"H-hey! Calder!" Amrita whined as she was dragged out of the room. Her parting words? There were none, she was silent and trying to mentally prepare herself for the horrors that the Kelpie was dragging her into.

(Exit!)

Shehk pressed her hand against the pocket of her jacket, feeling the medal she wore on the inside of it press against her chest. She'd kept it in case it would bring her some use while being in the territory, but for the time being....


she'd let it be.

"I'm not going to go sleuthing until I've had a chance to go to the Death island." She had answers she was looking for to other things, and the vibration of the phone in her hand reminded her what she was looking for - the one answer she needed to find above any of the others. Even a passing glance over to Riley while she replied to it made her wonder if that far darkened island would have what she wanted.

Needed.

"What did you think of them, though...the...." she frowned. "Walls." The carvings were what she was thinking about, clearly.

Danny looked at Roch, and watched him physically clam up on the hammock. She reached a hand out to touch his arm and pat him a little. "Heyyyy buddy," she said awkwardly, "It's okay. Whatever happened in there was scary for all of us." She thought Roch was just having a manly pride moment at the thought of being scared by the glyphs. She couldn't even imagine it was his fault they all wandered in there.

At Shehk's question, Danny said, "What was on the walls? I only remember the buzzing ... and the pretty- Oh do you mean the drawings and stuff?" She shuddered a little. "They were ... scary." She wasn't going to describe it any more than that.
