Well, it seemed as if the zomboil was able to support himself again, and Yin merely straightened up a little and perhaps rolled his shoulders. He truly did not mind the weight, but the chill was still just a tad...off. Bodies should be warm. He was thrilled when the heart appeared. Okay, so he just needed to take a slightly more forward approach. It seemed crude, but it was what worked.
Then Alexander was holding out the controller and Yin accepted it somewhat reluctantly. after a few fumbled attempts he managed to mostly get it to work, though there were only so many walls for him to run into before he was blushing slightly and wishing that his hands did not fit the controller so awkwardly.
He successfully met with Sally after school and escorted her on an errand, earning another heart. Then he was polite to the ghoul that checked them out and lost one. He made it up by doing a good deed and helping an older woman across the street (regaining his heart), and then lost it when he bid her a pleasant 'good evening' and left without doing anything (other than his ears turning a remarkable shade of red at the option of kissing Sally).
By that point in the game he was more than tired of pressing the buttons and making decisions, so he held the controller back out to Alexander. "I believe I am finished for now, so perhaps you would like to take control again?"

Alex couldn't help but notice Yin shivering just a tiny bit after he pulled away from him. Oh right...that not liking the cold thing...
His heart sunk as it dawned on him that he would always be cold, and would always prefer the cold, and Yin would always be the opposite. Though the heat didn't seem to disable Alex so thoroughly as the cold did to Yin (unless that heat was from fire, of course). He pondered this over while Yin struggled to control Jack around the skellyvision screen, not really paying attention to the amount of times he had Jack running into walls. After a few seconds, he pushed himself up off of the floor and shuffled towards the heater. They had turned it down earlier and never turned it back up again, so Alex cranked the heat back up now, grimacing with distaste at the blast of heat that accosted him when he did so. Now all he had to do was not put his arm around Yin anymore and the other boil could be comfortable.
Since he was already on his feet and next to the bed, he reached over and picked up his phone, turning it back on before going and collapsing on the floor next to Yin. This time he kept some space between the two of them, though he did sit as close as he dared without actually making any contact. Once his phone was back on, he tapped at the screen, then brought the phone up to his ear.
Somewhere in the house, a skellyphone was ringing.
"Hey, it's Alex. Is my mom around? Thanks." A pause while Alex waited for his mom to come over and pick up the line.
"Hey mom! No, everything's still fine but...." He glanced over towards Yin, who was still struggling his way through the game. He turned his head away and brought a hand up to his face while he hissed. "Would you bring up some water and snacks? Pleeeeeeeaaaaaase?" He asked, waiting for his mom's response. He could tell she was struggling not to say something to the effect of 'come and get some yourself.' but instead she answered with an, 'of course dear.' He smiled broadly, and hung up the phone, finally turning back towards the game, just in time to see Jack not kiss Sally.
He reached over and took the controller back from Yin. "Hey, why didn't you make him kiss Sally? They're not going to get anywhere in their relationship at this rate."
Sounds familiar, really.

Yin would have been content to not think about the kissing option any further, but the question was rather mortifying. "But they are not bonded yet," he said incredulously, giving the zomboil a long look. "It would be most improper for Jack to kiss her, and he only just met her this morning!"
That might have been enough of a reason if an even more disturbing thought had not occurred to him. He starred at the screen as the wheels clicked together slowly, cheeks burning at the idea. In a slightly strangled voice he voiced his concern. "The game would not...they would not...it would not have shown them kissing would it?" He knew that the game was forward, and that there seemed to be more open and public indications of affection outside of the clan but...kissing? To show two people doing something so private? Surely not...but so far the game had shown everything else that had happened! This game was highly inappropriate and he wished fervently that he could just turn the game off, the image of Jack on the screen almost mocking him.
Oh Great Mantis and now he was visualizing it. How far his morals had fallen since leaving the clan.

"Things are different outside of your clan." Alex reminded the boil. "But I guess, perhaps after only just meeting her that morning, a kiss might not have been the most appropriate action. This is just a game though." He sighed, reaching up to rub at his eyes. He kept forgetting how much different Yin was to himself, but the weremantis always seemed to find a way to remind him.
"I'm not sure, Yin." He replied to the question of the game actually showing the kiss. More then likely it would. "Probably. I can have Jack go and find Sally again, and we can find out?" He teased, though he could see how uncomfortable the other boil was getting with every passing moment that they remained on the subject. He shifted a little uncomfortable in his seat.
But then he remembered something, and wondered if the game might not be so off the mark. He didn't know what possessed him to bring it up, but he suddenly burst out "Michi kissed me. Once when we first met and once after our date and I'm not bonded to her."
Really, that might have just been the worst thing he could have possibly brought up at the moment. He mentally slapped himself in the back of the head several times. Whywhywhywhywhywhywhy was he bringing that up when it was obviously such a touchy subject for the weremantis?

Different outside of his clan indeed. How disgustingly forward. Just a game indeed, anyone could just pick it up and start playing and in less than a couple of hours be watching others kiss. It was simply too disturbing to think about, though apparently Alexander was content to as he suggested going to purposefully test it out. They should probably just stop playing this game.
He was just about to suggest as much when the zomboil was suddenly going off about kissing Michi. It took a few seconds for the realization to sink in, but it did as he kept talking about it. Not just one kiss. Two. Two kisses. Despite the heat of the room Yin felt himself growing cold, his mind trying desperately to wrap around the notion. Alexander had kissed a ghoul. Twice. Michi. He had kissed Michi. The demon ghoul. The one that Alexander had acted as if things had not worked out with. And they had kissed. Twice.
He was upset, though he was not sure why. Was it because the two had done something so special and yet it was meaningless? Or perhaps because Michi had kissed Alexander but had not even desired to claim the zomboil when he was obviously a very nice boil? Could it be that he was disappointed in the zomboil? But...why? That did not make sense. Maybe it was because everything was just too different outside of the clan. Too extreme. Had he really thought that he could just leave and make it on his own in a completely foreign place and expect to actually understand anything? None of those reasons seemed to fit exactly and it confused and slightly terrified him.
So he stared at the ground, shoulders curved in, not saying anything. What could he possibly even say at this point? He was almost grateful when there was a knock at the door, though he still could not drag his mind away from the thought of the zomboil and the demoness kissing.

If he had any doubt in his mind that he had just confessed to something that he should have just kept to himself, his error was confirmed with the look Yin got on his face directly after Alex had mentioned Michi kissing him. He suddenly felt horrible for mentioning it, the weremantis looked rather upset and that had not been Alex's intention..though Alex actually wasn't sure what his intention had been. He still wasn't sure what had even possessed him to say it. He felt like he should explain himself somehow, like he had just been caught cheating on an exam.
It didn't mean anything, it was nothing, the first one was barely a kiss at all, I was thinking about you the second time...
None of those explanations were remotely appropriate, so he just sat there with his mouth firmly clamped shut, a virtue that would have done him some good five minutes ago when he had burst out with the kissing comment to begin with.
Yin couldn't even look at him now, and it didn't take Alex long to realize that all of the hard work he'd put into trying to get Yin in a better mood was quickly unraveling. A knock on the door was almost a relief, because it gave Alex something to occupy himself with other then worrying that he had just greatly offended his friend.
It took him some time to push himself to his feet and make his way to the door, unlatching it, and pulling it open. He assumed it would be his mom on the other side, and he was right. She was standing there with several bottles of water tucked underneath one arm and a plate of assorted little meaty foods held in the opposite hand. She took one look at Alex's face and frowned. "What's going on? You almost look ill."
Alex just shook his head at her, and mumbled. "Mom, I'm an idiot. You raised an idiot." Before holding out his arms to be loaded up with water and the plate of food. She looked puzzled, but she knew better then to ask twice what had happened.
"Thank you." He whispered. "I'll talk to you downstairs soon." A half hearted smile as his mom turned to leave and he kicked the door shut, not able to lock it just at the moment.
He didn't really want to turn around and face Yin again, but he forced himself to do it anyways, He shuffled back over towards where he sat and leaned over the bed, opening his arms so that the bottles of watter would thud onto the blankets. Then, grabbing one, he turned and sank awkwardly to the floor, holding it out wordlessly.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have said anything." He said quietly.

The zomboil that was beginning to cause Yin's brain to turn to mush got up to answer the door, leaving him behind to try to make sense of things. And he was getting very far. The scent of food hit his nostrils, but he honestly did not feel like eating. He felt like...going on a run. That would be nice right? Nice and normal. People everywhere went on runs.
Well, not in zombie land.
Alexander was back and he just felt...awkward. How could a boil just do what he did and act like it was nothing? Just be so...casual? He took the offered water bottle that he saw out of the corner of his eyes with a quiet "thank you," like nothing at all was unusual. Maybe that was what he should do, act like everything was perfectly normal.
But he could not even do that as Alexander was apologizing. "No, your private affairs are none of my bus-" for some reasons his throat closed off and he was forced to clear it, tugging at the collar of his shirt carefully before busying his hands opening up the bottle. "I mean, if you need to talk about anything that is what friends are for? I just...I might not be the best person to offer advice on such matters." Yeah that was probably it. He was having issues with what Alexander had said because he did not know how to offer advice to his friend for the almost crude acts he had performed with a ghoul not his bonded, but he did wish for Alexander to be happy. Surely that was the source of his problems, and even if something deep down was saying that there was more to it than that he was going to go with that reason.
"Was that your mother?" Subject change? Please?

Ah, so Yin just didn't want to know things about Alex's private life, or at least, for Alex to tell him about them. That felt...not so nice, considering Yin was supposed to be his best friend and should have been somebody he could talk to about things. It didn't seem right that he always had to be so careful about what he spoke about in front of the other boil, but he supposed it was something he should have come to expect by now.
But it didn't really matter, what was done was done, and while Alex still felt like he aught to be explaining himself to Yin or trying to come up with some kind of excuse as to why it had happened to justify it all...it just didn't seem worth it, if it was going to just make the weremantis feel more uncomfortable.
He shuddered to think of what might happen if Alex told Yin that he had been thinking about the weremantis the second time Michi kissed him. That would be a one way ticket to no more best friend land, he was sure.
Anyways... "You know what, let's just...forget about it. I wasn't thinking before I said it and it's obviously making you uneasy. Of course I want to be able to talk to you about things but not at the expense of your comfort." He finished, before answering Yin's next question.
"Yep, it was my mom. I called downstairs and asked her if she could bring up some things." He glanced up at the skeevee screen, then stretched a toe forward to hit the power button on the hexbox, since it seemed like they were done with that game for the evening.

Forget about it? That sounded fantastic. He was fully ready to move on when what Alexander said made him falter, enough that he ignored that Alexander had been getting a ghoul to do something for him. "But if it is very important you will talk to me, correct? I did not mean...I should say that I can put up with some discomfort its just that I do not...I am not..." How on Halloween was Alexander supposed to know what he was saying when he himself did not. Thankfully he was mumbling though, so Alexander probably could not even hear all of the jumble of words he was failing to spit out.
Water, that was what would be good at a time like this. A drink of water. "That was nice of your mother," he said in a volume that could actually be heard clearly. "I should have thanked her myself. I hope it was not too much trouble for her."

Alex reached out to pat Yin on the back gently, wanting nothing more then to just be able to wipe that look off of his friends face and make him happy again. He didn't catch much of what Yin was mumbling down at the floor, but he managed to make out a little of it. "Of course I will tell you if it's important, why wouldn't I?" Never mind the fact that he was possibly keeping something very important to himself already, but that was for the best, right?
"Don't worry, I thanked her. She was more then happy to bring us this stuff." Alex reached down to the plate of food. His mom had put some chopped up pieces of candied brains on one side so he grabbed a small handful of that and shoved it into his mouth. Food was comforting, after all, and brains were the best type of food conceivable.
Alex's eyes wandered over towards the now blank skellyvision screen as he struggled to think of what they could do next. "Have you ever played any card games?" He asked, thinking about the deck that he had tucked away in the drawer of the stand next to the bed. "I could teach you one, it's really easy." Yes, anything to pass the time and distract himself from his troubled mind.

The cool hand on his back indicated that Alexander was probably not too upset with him, he would not perform such a comforting gesture if he was, correct? So, satisfied that Alexander was going to talk to him and had at least thanked his mother (though he still had not, and would have to remedy that later), Yin latched rather willingly onto the idea of a card game. "No I have not played a game with cards, but it it is something that you could easily teach me tonight I would gladly play with you."
Well, that seemed rather flat, and left little for the zomboil to go off of without them lapsing back into silence or near silence. "I do not know if you would have played the games I grew up with. We do not have video games, and mostly children just play games using their bodies or perhaps a ball. As one ages there are games with tiles and other strategy games that are on boards with playing pieces of bone." He reached down to snare a cube of meat to pop into his mouth, once again having strange but delectable flavors explode in his mouth. "Your mother is a truly excellent chef."

"As long as you can read numbers, or at least recoginse which cards are higher then others, then yes, you should be fine." He pushed himself to his feet, yet again, and shuffled over to the stand, pulling out the drawer and staring in horror. His mom had obviously decided that the lap full of protection charms the night before hadn't been enough and had at some point dumped a bunch in here as well. Mortified, his neck beginning to warm up, he reached a hand in and began rummaging around carefully, trying not to knock any of the small, square packages to the floor. What did his mom think was going on in here, anyways??
Eventually his hand closed around the rectangular pack of cards and he slowly pulled it out, shutting the drawer quickly so that he didn't have to see it's contents anymore. Opening up the box he slid the cards out into his hand, then discarded the empty box onto the bed as he shuffled back towards Yin. "The game is called war. It's one of the easiest games I can think of but..." Hrm, well, it wasn't exactly the most exciting game either, now was it? He had seen something on boo-tube though that made it look more fun, and his eyes fell on the bottles of water currently piled up on the bed. There were 9 on the bed total (how the jack had his mom carried so many up the stairs with a plate of food?) and the one Yin held made 10.
"I have another way of playing it, if you don't mind getting a little bit wet." He grinned.

Numbers? He hated numbers. But if it was a simple matter of which was higher, 4 or 8, he could tell the difference. So long as he did not have to add and subtract and all of that nonsense. "I should be able to, yes." The zomboil was taking a rather long time finding what he was searching for, but eventually he turned back. War? So this was a war game? Perhaps it had some strategy to it as well or...Alexander was saying that it was easy, and war games typically were not. But having some type of war game for children to learn some basics was a good idea if one thought about it.
"Getting...wet? No I do not mind." That sounded like an odd request, and he had very much doubted that water came into play with the small box Alexander had drawn out, but who really knew about card games? Then he remembered what he was wearing and began unbuttoning the shirt carefully. "However, I would prefer that this shirt would get wet." He folded it after he took it off and reached up to set it on the bed. "So what are the rules to this game?"

Moving to kneel down at the end of the bed in front of Yin, he placed the cards on the floor between them, then, turning towards the bed, he began grabbing at bottles of water putting them on the floor so that their were five next to him and four next to Yin in a line. He then finally sat down cross legged in front of the cards, picking them up and beginning to shuffle them before dealing them out back and forth between him and Yin so that half of the deck was stacked face down in front of Yin and the other half was in front of Alex. While this was going on he was trying desperately not to be too distracted by Yin taking his shirt off. He'd seen the other boil shirtless before but it was still...yes, very distracting, anyways.
"Ok, so basically, I turn up one card from the top of my pile, and you turn up the card from the top of yours. Whoever has the highest card wins but, the person with the highest card also gets to dump a bottle of water on the losers head. Easy, right?" He smiled. "If we both turn up the same card, well...we'll deal with that when it happens. Any questions?"
Yes, this game would involve getting wet, which was not Alex's favorite thing in the world. But...it could still be fun, and he had just had a shower yesterday so it wasn't like getting wet was something new for the zomboil. He just wanted to do something that might cheer the weremantis back up again and if getting a bit wet was the cost, he was more then willing to pay.

Well, the rules seemed simple enough, though Yin had no idea how this would factor into war. Perhaps it meant that the side with the most warriors would win? That was not always the case but Alexander had described this as a simple game. "That sounds fine." The addition of the water seemed...odd. Was it a punishment? But the only way to win or lose was because of luck. So...it was a reward for the winner?
"So then I just...flip a card?" He flipped it over to reveal a 10. Was 10 high? Or low? If it was out of 10 then he had flipped a very good card indeed, but if it was out of 100 his chances of winning were slim. He stared at Alexander's deck, waiting to see what the zomboil would flip over.
