Calder could only flush at Malodore's suggestion, and looked to Barth in a 'You heard the Undead' manner as being "warmed quickly" was certainly something the kelpie could get behind. As he buttoned up his shirt as best as he could, noticing he was missing a few buttons now, he then drew back the jackets, then blankets, and then gathered the few puppies who weren't moving all about him.

As for the suggestions around him, Calder could only try and struggle with whatever 'ami-ci....am-icky....amierici?' or whatever that word was. Really, he was learning sign language but he simply had to start learning whatever Malodore was speaking. It probably would make some words easily to understand. While his mind worked on trying to figure out that sentence, he then looked up at Barth. "I'm fine. I can still move." He pouted, and tried to get up, only to have a lot of puppies on his blankets weigh him back down and make him flop back down to sit. Even the weight of the small animals was enough to floor him. However, he simply would not admit, on the premise of being a strong kelpie, that he could not lift at least a bit of weight.

"Could definitely use some warmer weather but I'll be fine," he replied to Malodore before the doctor went off to deal with Calder's injuries.

Feeling Riley climb onto his back, he glanced towards her before tucking his wings in to try and cover her some more. If anything they helped shield her from the winds.

"We probably should try and head inside somewhere... and take the pumpkins with us. I don't think we should leave them alone but I'd really like to find some place warm. If possible."

"Ah, no, no, no transforming. I find that causes undue stress to the wound." Malodore nodded sagely, another clump of snow falling from its hat. It turned towards Jericho and nodded once more. "Si. I propose we all barricade ourselves inside a building, for example. If we eradicate anything within, we should be able to hold the 'fort', so to speak, quite easily. Pity we've no ghosts among us, their dormitory would be the most defensible..."

Manhandling Calder was not what she wanted, but it was just a means to an end; the Kelpie ended up in the sled, as did Barth and a few others. The Vetala, however, remained outside of it, watching as more and more of her classmates - and friends - popped out from the snowy pumpkin guts.

Christof was fitting himself with the reigns, and as she watched she started to fidget, and the more she fidgeted the more her mind raced, bringing back a conversation he'd had with her before. The poor boil; he was unorthodox and sometimes cruel, but he really did try so hard, didn't he? Even if someone wasn't happy with him. Her gaze eventually fell on Barth, and before she completely understood what she was doing and why she was doing it, she was walking up to his side of the sled.

"Barth." She said first, hopefully just loud enough to get her attention. "When...when this is over..." Frozen hands hooked easily on the side of the sled, fingers already numb in that position. "C-can we...um, talk? About..." Her head turned, pointedly looking at Christof's back. "Please?"

Barth was more shy at Calder's look as he had been with Malodore's.

"Hm?" he asked Amrita. "Oh, err...yes? If you like." Although he wasn't really sure what about Christof she wanted to discuss. He knew his behavior had been sort of...well, but he had pulled Barth from the fire at great personal risk. Christof just didn't have the word gentle in his vocabulary.

Amrita's hands, frozen in a zombie-like claw, weren't hard to notice. "...Are you- alright? Here, have a seat, there's room. I think...we should get going. If anyone wants to join us? ....maybe wouldn't mind volunteering a push to get the thing started?"

"Thank you!" It was a huge relief when he agreed, offering him a smile. Christof received another glance, but then her attention was on her rainbow claws hands. "Oh. U-um." She peeled her hands from the side of the sled, tucking them behind her back. Calder had her coat, leaving her in a tanktop, pants and the blue scarf she had liberated earlier...and she was just as rainbow as when they got here.

"N-no, I'm okay. A-and it's okay, Um...I probably won't help keeping anyone warm, b-but thank you! But I'll help push! I'll be okay!" Maybe she was just trying to convince herself at that point, but either way Barth was right; someone needed to push and, well, she might as well help. Since, aside from being slow and unable to bend her fingers, the cold didn't bother her.

The music once again goes quiet all over campus, and in the silence, the turning of gears growls and grinds deep underground seems louder than ever. And then even louder until the air is vibrating the the thunderous rhythm. The forms of defeated foes soon begin to waver and then...not quite dissipate, but rather turn misty, into a fog of sorts. The wisps of their remains travel outward and upward, until the sky above the school is dark with the restless fog.

Some students may find it...familiar. And when the clockwork cacophony shifts and twists, subtly, ever so slowly into a chorus of terrible, dark whispers...it becomes very familiar indeed.

The air is soon full of hundreds of voices, a speaking at once in a maddening hum of confusion, anger, and a crushing, mind-numbing loneliness.

Astra had grown so used to the constant annoying music, that she almost didn't realize that it had stopped. Her antenna twitching about, she then became aware of another sound below her feet; turning gears.

"Wha..." She looked down, suddenly nervous that something was going to jump out of the ground. All around her the Christmas monsters were dissipating, but not completely. Their forms instead began to change into something else, something hauntingly familiar.

When the voices began, the fae was certain of it. This was the same fog from the island, except this time it was forming above them. It didn't matter, the voices were just as potent as before, and already she was trembling. It was about to get worse, as she could plainly see something in the fog was forming. That alone made her weak at the knees.

But she held her ground. No, she couldn't run away now! What if the hooded reapers came again and tried to attack Riley, or everyone else? The last time that happened, everyone got caught in nets, and the mindflayer came back with a huge hole in her stomach. She may have seemed fine, but was the injury healed? And sure, Jericho was in his stupid big (rainbow) dragon form, but would he be strong enough to protect everyone?

She wasn't sure, but she did know one thing. She didn't want to stand by and idly do nothing! And so, she took to the skies.

Oblivious that he was being spoken about, Christof gave only a huff of warning before suddenly throwing his weight into the reigns. His boots slid in the snow, but with the added push from behind, physics took over. Just... find a hill and jump back onto the nose of the sled and let gravity do all the work...

He didn't look back to Riley, her dragon and her doctor, his eyes instead glued on the snow and his Task at Hand. Left... right... keep hauling... by the time he looked up and the sled was traveling at a slow but constant pace behind him, fog had curled around them from every side... what in the...? He couldn't stop or his load would run him over. Just keep going and get everyone to safety...

The ghost dorms would be nice, but Jericho figured that the monster dorms would make a pretty good fort as well. The walls were built pretty strong to accommodate all the monsters. He was just about to start walking when a peculiar fog began to waft through the area. Pausing, he looked around, feeling an eerie sensation within his bones.

Then the voices began.

The dragon's eyes widened as memories of the island hit him all at once. Why was that fog here? How did it get here?

"Tiamat's s**t. We better get moving," he uttered while looking around, expecting hallucinations to form at any moment. Either that or.. other enemies. Shifting his wings uncomfortably, he looked towards Mal, then started walking with Riley on his back.

Christof strained forward, and the slay started moving. Soon, they'd be off-campus. He hadn't been back to his estate since the summer, but they could wait there for the situation to blow over without any fear of harassment. The place was too large and crowded for his father to notice who came and went.

He wasn't sure what to do about the dogs, or the borrowed slay. They could return both later. With the pumpkin patch depleted, they would all be safer elsewhere.

Barth slumped back into the slay, feeling a sleepy haze overtake his unease. He curled close to Calder, eyelids drooping. He didn't notice the fog, at first, but he did notice the mechanical grinding, and struggling to stay awake, the whispering he couldn't separate from dream or reality. Even reclined and surrounded by warm blankets and dogs, with Christof's huffing near by and Calder's limbs arranged with his under the blankets, he felt like he was falling away, starved of company. That no matter how close they were, he was alone.

Oh no. No no no. Not this again. Not again.

Malodore would die before it'd let that damned fog take them all again. The plague doctor clamped its hands over the rough location of its ear-holes and ran grimly after the others, wings chiming dissonantly with every step.

Mandy clapped her hands over her ears with a hiss of pain as the previously unnoticed sound of turning gears suddenly became painfully loud. Where was that coming froooooo.......

She gaped in silent horror as a familiar mist rose out of the fallen Santa Scouts corpse and that of his fellow Christmasers that he had squashed.

No.

What was that doing here? Tainting their home?

She let out a shuddering pained gasp as the sound of gears turned into horribly familiar whispering voices. She had to get away. Right now.

Stumbling Mandy pushed up and sprinted off.

If the situation could get worse, it just did. Why did they NEVER NOT have weird voices and fog around? You'd think the school would think of a repellant, but no. Like whenever something crazy and dangerous happened to them, there just HAD to be fog and whispers to help it along. Now there was metal noises - which just made it even worse. Great. Another addition to an otherwise horrible back noise.

Calder buried his head under Barth's chin, ears up and eyes wide as he brought the blankets up to his nose, looking around. "Christof, be careful." He called out, worried for the Igor who was leading the group.

And with that, they pressed onward into the fog.
