Courtney Berkly Courtney grabbed one of the candles and led Rachel into the kitchen. She sat the candle on on the counter and turned to Rachel and that's when her nervousness hit. "So, umm.. I pulled your brother's name from the hat and I can't think of any way to lure him under the mistletoe... So, I thought that maybe you could help me come up with an idea, since your his sister and all, you know him way better than I do," Courtney laughed lightly at herself, before blushing a little.

Rachel looked at Courtney in surprise, but her surprise turned into a mischievous grin. "Aww!" she said, giving Courtney a hug. "You and my brother!" She let go of Courtney and sat on the counter. "Well... Brett is pretty dense when it comes to anything romance, so you can be super obvious about this kissing thing and he still wouldn't get it." Rachel giggled and started swinging her legs back and forth.
Brett breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good," he said. "Hey listen. There's actually an apartment complex a block or so away from us... if you're interested..."

Courtney Berkly Courtney was surprised by the smile that Rachel was wearing. She wondered to herself if this was payback for her teasing Rachel about James. Courtney just giggled at the thought and then was even more surprised by the hug, she hugged her back and then listened to her. Courtney gave a confused look, she was a bit stunned that Brett was pretty oblivious to romance. "I'm not going to lie, I'm surprised... I always thought your brother caught on to things like that... That's why I came to you," Courtney giggled again as she leaned up against the stove, thinking that it might not be as difficult as she was thinking it was going to be to lure Brett under the mistletoe.

"Nope," Rachel said, shaking her head. "Just because we're twins doesn't mean we're both hopeless romantics." She chuckled. "Just do something simple. If the power ever comes back on you can always ask him to help you put something together." As if on cue, everything in the house turned back on. "Yay!" Rachel said, grinning and clapping her hands together. "As I was saying, I'm going to need help with dinner. I can always step out of the room for something and leave you two together..."

Courtney Berkly Courtney laughed as the electricity came back on, she turned to Rachel and gave her a joking glare. "You did have something to do with the lights going out, didn't you?" Of course she was joking, she knew Rachel would never intentionally make the electricity go out when she had a full schedule of things to do for the party. Courtney smiled and turned towards the candle on the counter and blew it out. "By the way, thanks for the advice... Okay, so, time to start dinner?" Courtney gave her friend a bright smile.

"No way!" Rachel said, faking a pout. "Why would I play such an awful trick on everyone?" She crossed her arms and looked away for a moment before sticking her tongue out at Courtney. "But you're welcome." Rachel smiled and gave Courtney another hug. "Indeed it is." She quickly started moving around the kitchen as she retrieved ingredients and supplies for spaghetti and meatballs.
Brett smiled when the lights came back on. "Awesome," he said, getting up slowly to start blowing out the candles. "Guess this means Rachel can make that dinner she was so excited about." He chuckled before continuing on his way around the room.

Courtney Berkly Courtney watched as Rachel gathered up the ingredients for dinner. Her thoughts went over the events of the night after the power went out. "I wouldn't say it was too awful," Courtney admitted with a chuckle, in the beginning, the power going out did freak her out but after she got used to it, it was kind of relaxing. She gave one more light giggle before focusing her attention on the food. "Anyways, what would you like me to do to help?... I'll warn you though, I'm not the most amazing cook but I promise not to burn your house down!" Courtney stated with enthusiasm and a giggle.

Rachel giggled and handed Courtney a bowl and the box of spaghetti noodles. "You can break all of these in half and then fill up a pot with water to boil on the stove." Rachel watched her friend for a moment before opening the jar of sauce and pouring it into another pot. She started heating it on the stove before adding the meatballs.
Brett finished blowing out the candles and walked over to the fireplace. He leaned against the mantle and closed his eyes as he listened to James's playing.

Courtney Berkly Courtney gave a small giggle at the easy task that she was assigned. She took the box of noddles happily, opening it and struggling for only a moment to break a decently sized group of noodles in half. She had continued this until the box was empty. She gave herself a smile and one very quick approving nod before grabbing a pot and filling it with water. Courtney placed the pot on a burner and turned it on. Once the water was at a boil she put the noodles in the pot and stirred them every once in awhile making sure that they didn't stick to the bottom of the pot and burn. "Okay, the noddles are on their way to being done. Is there anything else I can do?" Courtney gave Rachel a quick smile, thinking there must have been something else she could do to help.
