The State of Tennessee Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// Violet was in the middle of starting up another angry rant when she suddenly felt herself plucked off the ground. Unlike some pigs she had manners and made no move to bite or cause trouble as she blinked up at Georgia. Normally she didn't pay any attention to anyone who wasn't Andrew, but suddenly she felt a kinship with Christian. The enemy of my enemy is my friend was a concept she was very familiar with. The piglet only offered him a hoof to shake to seal their pact before she hopped down and waited for Tennessee to put Tails into her clutches. Andrew did not like the look on his brother's face. The younger state couldn't help feeling a little nervous. Actual fear of Georgia was impossible, but he had a healthy respect for his sibling's temperament and ability to make someone's life a living hell if he so chose. What was the most disturbing about that moment was how his normally very vocal sibling was completely silent and just walked away instead of bursting into some tantrum or fit. That was not a good sign. Tennessee jumped a bit when he heard a thud then a shout outside their door. What could possibly be happening now? Just who was Tails anyway? Andrew blinked, thought about it and looked down at the pig in his arms who began to oink almost on cue. He almost put Tails down until he saw the way Violet was circling them like a pink shark. There was something about the glint in her eyes that told him now was not a good time to be letting them interact. "Um... Just a second," Andrew told the pig he was holding as he walked to the door and opened it. He blinked as he looked down at the woman who was on the ground rubbing her head outside their dorm room. "... 'Scuse me, miss, but is this yours?" he asked as he nodded towards the pig in his arms. //////////////////////////////// Grade 9 The Volunteer <> <>

Haiti Puri Joais Puri didn't think anyone would open the door, she didn't really knock, she just ran into it. She looked up at the person who spoke to her; she knew him from some where but couldn't remember where. She then looked at the pig in his arms. She was up and took the pig from him and smiled, "oui! Merci Merci Merci!!!" she said hugging her little Tails while the pig nibbled on her finger. "thank you not turning him into an edible food...Tails can be a bit...ummm adventurous." she mumbled the last part. She rubbed the pigs ears. "Umm can I do anything to help, you found my pig and I want to do something in return..." she asked. Who: Door? The State of Tennessee Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// "Welcome," Tennessee said as he watched the woman. Was that French she spoke? His knowledge of the language was limited to a few key, stereotypical phrases and he was pretty sure that was one of them. Normally he would simply say he didn't need anything and let that be the end of it, but considering what had happened to Christian... "The only thing I want in return is for you to teach him some manners," Andrew said. "I don't mind someone visitin' my home even if they're uninvited, but I take offense when a guest disrespects or hurts a member of my family. He's likely to get himself killed wonderin' 'round like that with such a bad attitude." //////////////////////////////// Grade 9 The Volunteer <> <>

Haiti Puri Joais Puri was a bit taken aback when he said she should teach her baby some manners. “Well I reckon, you shouldn’t be tellin’ me that when you don’t know how little piggy’s are supposed to act.” She said hugging her pig closer to her, but not enough to hurt the poor animal. “And I’m sorry if he hurt anyone…” she said. The State of Tennessee Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// The Hog and Hominy state had all he could do not to quirk a brow at the woman. Andrew had been raising pigs for well over a century and he would never allow one of them to act as badly as that little terror. Violet, however, didn't take this insult well. She snorted, squeeled and ranted angrily at the woman for making such an uncalled for and reckless assumption about her Tennessee. She was almost beside herself with what a stupid, short sighted, ignorant-- "Violet, hush," Andrew warned firmly. The piglet looked up at him in shock. She had only been saying what he should have been to this horribly rude woman. Yet she fell silent aside form a snort of disapproval. "You have a nice day, ma'am," Tennessee said simply. He nudged Violet back inside with his toe before closing the door. //////////////////////////////// Grade 9 The Volunteer <> <>

George "Christian" JonesGeorgia, U.S.A.Freshman I said where I come from It's cornbread and chicken Where I come from a lotta front porch sittin' Where I come from tryin' to make a livin' And workin' hard to get to heaven Where I come from Christian wrapped some bandaging around his arm and taped it into place. He's made sure to clean the wound as perfectly as possible, but he knew full well there was still a chance for some sort of bacterial infection. That meant he was going to have to keep an eye on it.... And maybe ask Leah's professional advice as a doctor should the wound act up.
He heard someone at the door, so he finished what he needed to before slipping from his room with the stealth and silence of a cat. He watched as his brother dealt with the woman who owned the pig. Oh, she was lucky it was Andrew that answered. Had Christian answered... His foul mood would have caused him to say a thing or two to the young woman about responsibility and what not. (It was one of the few nasty habits that his father, England, had managed to pass down to Georgia.)
When Andrew closed the door, Christian huffed and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "It really does annoy me how almost all of these countries are gonna assume we don't know nothin' about anything. It even sounded like she tried to make fun of our accent!" He said "Our" since he, Tennessee, and majority of the Southeast had the same accent. He rolled his eyes and shook his head. "No wonder the damn pig had no manners." he went and continued with his cleaning duties, wanting this dorm as clean as possible for when Charlotte came by to cook dinner for the family.

The State of Tennessee Andrew S. Hickory //////////////////////////////// Tennessee sighed and rubbed the back of his head as he closed the door. He felt a little guilty for not trying to be friendlier with the woman, but he really hated arguing and it felt like their talk was going to take a quick turn for the worst. It was usually better to quickly end a conversation then let it boil into something troublesome in his opinion. Andrew tried to avoid such altercations with his siblings and he certainly didn't want to go through that kind of aggravation with a stranger. Christian looked irritated but at least he wasn't nearly as upset now. Andrew couldn't help feeling a little relieved even though his brother wasn't quite back to his usual bright and shiny self. The younger state only listened to him talk and shrugged his shoulders a bit when Georgia mentioned her making fun of their accent. It was possible, but he was used to a lot of people getting laughs at his expense. Tennessee figured there was no point in worrying about it and, quite frankly, he didn't care about what random outsiders said. His family and those few people who were close to him were the only ones whose opinion meant anything to Andrew. "You're ok, right?" he asked as he watched Georgia start fixing up the dorm. That bite had really upset his brother a lot more than what Andrew considered normal. Not to mention it wasn't fair to let him do all the cleaning after he cooked them breakfast, but Tennessee felt guilty for not going back for Leilani after he said he'd be back. The boy frowned awkwardly and decided he could just text Hawaii and tell her something came up. She would understand, right? "Is there somethin' I can do to help out?" //////////////////////////////// Grade 9 The Volunteer <> <>

Maybe he was over reacting over the bite. "Yeah, I will be. I guess I flipped my s**t when I figured out that runt pierced the skin since I'm still a bit twitchy from that nasty Swine Flu incident. You never can be too careful about a foreign animal, especially if it bites you." He hoped this would make sense to Andrew. After all, with the CDC deciding to take residence in Georgia's borders, he had become a little more antsy about stuff like that. It made sense though, especially if you knew what sort of stuff they were studying within the building. That's why he usually did push so hard for his siblings to get their shots and check ups as often as he did.
He looked up to Andrew at the offer to help. "Well, if you have nothing better to do, a quick vacuuming of the living space would be nice. Also, the table needs a wipe down and to be set. I know there's probably plenty of time before we will have guests, but it doesn't hurt to knock that stuff out of the way."

He wasn't afraid of needles or pain, but he didn't like people injecting weird chemicals or proteins into him. That was just freaky. If his body didn't naturally produce it then it probably didn't belong inside of him, thank you very much. "I'll, um... get the vacuum," he volunteered and was glad for an excuse to make his escape. While Andrew pulled the dirt sucker out of the closet, he absentmindedly checked his cell phone quickly. It looked like he wouldn't need to worry about Leilani after all since she was out with her little friend. North Carolina, USA Charlotte Wilson Freshman Charlotte didn't bother to knock since she had a feeling they were already in the dorm. "Hey guys!" she called out carrying some bags of food she was preparing and placed them on the counter. "Hope yall don't mind if I get a head start, do ya?" Well it was a little late now on asking but she was so familiar with her brothers that she didn't think about the possibility that she was rude. "Lets see, apples for apple pies, two frozen chickens, cornbread, butterbeans, squash, collards, corn, peas, and potatoes..." she listed out loud trying to make sure if that was everything. Well first the chicken need to thaw out so they were placed in the sink as she gathered some bowls to start preparing.
