Arell noticed Solomon moving towards him. "Yeah, dat's right, bonehead . . . come to poppa!" he shouted before taking a huge swig out of his hip flask, the Caribbean rum burning inside him. A slightly inebriated smirk came across his face.
"Come on, @$$hole, I came to party, man! Bring your jive-a** friend, too! I fought -HIC!- tougher punks'n you back in my hometown!" he yelped, howling it up like a pentecostal preacher at a revival. Then he mooned 'em again! It looked like he was just a roaring loud and brash punk from the swamps . . . which he was.

As Arell jeered and taunted, a man looked out from his hiding place in a nearby booth. He'd been hiding in this place for the past few hours, being, perhaps, the only survivor of those actually at the park, as he had passed out drunk in this spot an hour or so before Joker had arrived and killed everyone else. As soon as he had woken up, however, Aiden O'Connor had known something was very, very wrong... It had been quiet, no-one was around... and then super-powered people started showing up. So Aiden had just stayed hidden, praying to Saint Mary that he wouldn't get spotted, and it appeared that she was smiling on him. So, too scared and hung-over to move, Aiden laid there throughout everything, the gunshots, the explosions... but now he was getting bold enough-- and sober enough-- to start looking around.
"Sweet Jesus in the manger," he whispered as he caught a glimpse of Solomon Grundy moving toward... not him, but the costumed guys. A pretty girl, a teenager, and two guys that looked to be around Aiden's age, one of them wearing what looked like a cowboy hat.
"Psst! Hey, boyo! The <********> you think yer doin', taunting a big ol' brute like that?!" Aiden whispered frantically to Arell.

The inebriated Cajun was roaring insults, he saw the young Irishman asking for him.
"T'ain't nothin', che' . . . just some punks dat oughta be taught a lesson." he drawled as he staggered, feigning that he was drunker than he was in between talking to the Irishman and trash-talking Solomon and Bane. He held out the hip-flask of rum, staggering around in a way that made Jack Sparrow look sober.
"C'mon up an' have some fun, man. Dese chumps ai-HIC!-n't so tough!" he crowed.

Truth be told, Aiden was scared shitless, but he had made a pastime of drinking himself to unconsciousness (moreso than usual, at least) ever since he'd wound up in the US with no idea how he had gotten there. So, he straightened his flat-cap and hesitantly stepped out of his booth, glancing at Solomon Grundy warily. He looked to Arell and watched the guy stagger and slur his words.
"Ya know, if I weren't worried for me health when lookin' at that big guy o'er there, I'd challenge ya to a drinkin' contest, fella. But now... ain't the time. I can't use a gun to save m'life, but I can brawl like a madman... I ain't touchin' that guy, though!"
He glanced over to Solomon Grundy again, nervously shifted his flat-cap once more, and continued. "Name's Aiden O'Connor, boyo. Pleasure t'make yer acquaintance. From the looks 'o things, it'll be all I can make..."

Arell smiled and stuck his hand out. "Glad t' know ya, Aiden! I'm Arell, friend . . . C'mon an' have a drink, che'." he said, offering the nervous Irishman a drink before facing the big guy again.
He let loose a huge string of obscene language in fluent English, Cajun and Drunkenese thrown together in one big ball of a taunt. The severity of such could make a nun blush, so it will not be repeated here.
"Doan' worry 'bout de big guy. We got backup from Batman's birdie gang." he said with a wink, tilting his head towards Nightwing, Kai and crew.

d**k looked incredulously at Arell, and then looked to Aiden.
"Look, Aiden-- you should get out of--"
Too late. Aiden had taken the flask and took a mighty swig before giving the flask back to Arell.
Aiden shook his head a bit as the alcohol started getting into his system. This stuff was strong... And he was already feeling a bit calmer.
"Ooh... Thanks, Arell. That really calmed me nerves, fella," Aiden said to Arell, grinning a little. "Still, might not be th'best o' ideas to be tauntin' that big ********' brute..."
And before he knew it, Aiden was joining in as well, shooting a stream of his own profanities that would break his dear mother's heart at Solomon Grundy. Of course, no-one yet realized that the alcohol would actually come in handy for Aiden later, during the inevitable fight.

Arell laughed and hollered, getting ready to stomp a** if they went for 'em, but in the meantime, resorted to (with his new friend) taunt the big brute and his buddy away from Sapphire.
"Hey, bonehead! Yo' momma so fugly de last thing dat hit dat was de 2:19!!" Arell howled, carrying on. Doing his best to go beyond being the distraction for Kai and the others, but to flat-out taunt the two jack-assassins to try their luck against them instead.

Sapphire turned her head towards Arell and the others, then back at Bane. The guy was doing everything but shooting Bane, and he was utterly ignoring him. And since no one was getting very close to Bane or trying to really divert his attention....she wasn't going to have the excuse to run because she was saved. It was either do it now, or run and let him bend her in half once he caught her. And as focused as he was right now, he'd go straigt for her if she ran. No matter who was trying to distract him. And....with the lack of consistent structures from here to the building of interest.....it wouldn't be very long before she did have to dance around him.
.........
If he killed her, left her, and let himself be distracted, then she had a better chance of slipping past him if she woke up again. If she woke up again. And if he didn't kill any of the others since he got his job done. And if Alex didn't find her and just flip out and get herself killed.
........
'If I do this...would you be able to at least adjust whatever's broken so I can bring myself back?'
"Do you want to die?"
"No, but-"
"Then that's all I'll need. Trust me."
"Two words I NEVER thought I'd hear come out of you."
Hesitantly, Sapphire moved back towards the edge of the game stand and slipped down from it. When her feet hit the ground, she immediately regretted it. Impossible as it was....the guy looked shorter from the roof of the stand.
Pleeeeeeeeease let him be the giant, massive muscle villain that honors his word and not just saying it would be painless just to get me down off of the stand....

Arell noticed Bane not paying attention to him, however this was in the middle of another stream of profane and raucous language that stretched not only to Solomon and Bane, but also involved a donkey, a group of Aristocrats and a DeLorean. Needless to say his annoyance at Bane had reached a pinnacle.
"Ah what da hell. Bonehead and numb-nuts, meet my frien' de DRAGON BREATH!" he shouted, pointing the sawed-off at Bane and unleashed hell from that barrel.

The Dragon's Breath was the last straw for Grundy. Snapping entirely, he ran at Arell, frothing at the mouth. "BURIED ON SUNDAY!!!"
Bane was STILL adamently ignoring the Hell out of Arell, and was continuing his approach towards Sapphire Spider. Upon reaching her, he put one single massive hand on the back of her neck, his index and thumb right where her neck met he skull. What could be seen of his face showed pure confidence. "Any last words?"

As soon as Bane finished his question, a response came-- not from Misty, but from a dense Promethium power staff hitting the large bat-villain on the side of his head, causing him to lose his grip on Sapphire Spider.
Apex smoothly landed, grabbed Misty, and shoved her behind him. He may have to kill her if she got in his way of finding the Joker, but right now, she was a damsel-in-distress, and Apex's inner Marine had urged him to save her; he had complied.
"Get out of here. Go." Apex said to Misty, his voice calm and collected even as he stared down the imposing figure of Bane. The guy would have most definitely killed her, and Apex didn't exactly want such a thing on his conscience.
Meanwhile, Aiden, drunk as he was now, saw Grundy coming and let out a grin. "Ahh, s'been a while since me last streetfight!" he said, looking around and finding, oddly enough, a crowbar. He continued to grin, and picked it up, waiting for his chance.
((Sorry, CBJ. Saph gave me permission to have Apex save Misty's life.))

Arell smiled as he shouldered the shotgun and prepped himself, ready to take the big dude on with his bare hands. "Aaand DAT'S what I was lookin' for, sucka!!" Arell growled, cracking his knuckles and throwing a sledgehammer of a fist towards Grundy's big ugly face. He looked over at Sapphire with a look that said "Get the hell outta here, kid. QUICK!!"

Bane flinched from the impact of the power staff, and then, upon recovering, saw Apex saving the woman. "Last time I take the polite approach." Then, he leapt at Apex, yelling, "Looks like you're getting that fight after all!"Grundy paid no heed to the crowbar, nor to the Cajun dusting off his knuckles. He simply wanted to kill the two people standing in the direction the flames came from. "BORN ON A MONDAY! BORN ON A MONDAY!!!"------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Joker was busy watching the monitors, and was therefore completely unaware of a man sneaking up on him. Nor was he prepared for a knife being put to his throat."Joker," the man said, his accent a very curious mix that wouldn't have been out of place in just about any reigon, despite his perfect English. "The woman you are trying to kill bears my child. I therefore cannot allow you to kill her." Joker's eyes bulged momentarily, then relaxed as he heard the whole speech. "Vandal Savage. The woman in question is being possessed by the woman I AM trying to get. Tell you what, if I can get them to separate, I'll do my best to NOT kill your special lady friend.""SHE means nothing to me. What she carries is important." "Whatever." Joker looked at the microphone. "It'll go MUCH smoother if you'd kindly let me go..."

Apex didn't reply to Bane immediately, but instead pushed Sapphire further back away from the fight with his own considerable strength. This proved to be costly, as he was tackled by Bane and knocked into a food stand close by. Bane was, of course, ridiculously strong.... and arguably as fast as Apex was when using Venom. The question was, was Bane pumping Venom through his body? It was likely, he decided.
So, using his own enhanced strength and leverage, Apex tucked his legs into his body, curling into a ball, and then he kicked at Bane's stomach with force comparable to Bane's own tackle. Due to Bane's size advantage, it wouldn't send the killer flying, but it would get him off of Apex for a few moments... and that was all he needed.
Even as he kicked Bane in the stomach, he grasped the handle of one of his two Promethium katanas, preparing to use it once he got back to his feet.
Aiden, as well, was preparing to use his own melee weapon. As Grundy got close enough to swing, the Dublin Destroyer ducked under the larger man's upper body and sent a mighty blow toward Grundy's groin with the crowbar. Hey, streetfighting wasn't about being fair, after all...
"Move!" d**k cried to Tim and Kai as Grundy got close. He leaped away, unsheathing his staff. If Aiden and Arell were killed...

Sapphrie stumbled backwards as she was shoved farther away from the fight. She got her footing again, briefly stared at the two brawlers, then leapt back onto the game stand. Alright, NOW she had an excuse to get the Hell outta Dodge. And she did. Leaping very quickly from one solid structure to the next. Leaping off, bouncing on the ground and onto the next stable structue when they were spaced too far appart.
Rosie's eyes widened when she seen something shiny suddenly whip around the corner of her vision. They widened further when she looked over and seen the knife to Joker's throat. She gripped her doll tightly and turned herself around in her seat to face Savage.
