Not feeling especially courteous, the superhero didn't stick around long after offering Isadora the new can of soda. He didn't need a therapist analyzing his thought process just now; consciously or subconsciously. He just didn't want more attention drawn to the punch table than had already been necessary.
At least good ol' Bro seemed to have been doing a nice job of distributing the alcohol. Izaya had no doubt in his mind that the ghost knew exactly what kind of trouble he was getting all of them into. He was a genuine mischief-maker.
Grimacing at the sight of a blonde head turning back the way he had come, Izaya stumbled backward toward the dance floor - a place he didn't think Shizuo would ever go voluntarily. It was there he bumped into another blonde - a young woman who looked as miserable and forlorn as he felt. She was dressed in blue, white black, and silver. Apparently she was a witch. The hero blinked.
"Good evening, m'am," he said suddenly, seeing his chance and putting on his heroic act once again. With a sweep of his cape and a bow, he asked, "May I have this dance?" She wasn't all that bad-looking, either. It was a wonder she didn't already have a dance partner. Though Izaya's wig might have suggested he was of the opposite gender, he hoped his voice would be masculine enough to coax her into dancing with him. He needed to keep busy while he was being hunted.
Besides, she seemed troubled, and troubled people always interested the hero. "If you don't mind my saying, Miss Witch, you seem upset..."

Mau shouldn't have been surprised that Rosie recognized her. She was a sharp kid. Almost dangerously so. He raised a hand, at first thinking to ruffle her hair. But she had a hat on, so instead, he turned it to a wave. "It's been a long time. Seems you've gotten quite a lot of friends here today." He glanced around at the people. Many of them seemed younger. Maybe a few around Rosie's age? Some a little older. He couldn't help but eye Luke a little, sure that he was familiar. But he wasn't going to let it bother him.
His eyes lifted to Dith. Holy Heatran! Up close he was too tall. Though around these younger, shorter kids, it made Mau feel somewhat better.
He watched as Rosie was taken off to the dance floor with her friends, and covered a small laugh at how she was getting into her pirate roll.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@ Inigo, Alba, anyone
The answers he started giving were not exactly what she was looking for. Did he or did he not like the raffled costumes? Would it be prudent to do the same in years to come? She wanted to clarify her inquiries, and confirm her age, as they were both seeming skeptical. But it seemed she wasn't going to have the chance as the pair seemed ready for the part, and excused themselves.
She sighed, wrote a few more things in her notebook before snapping it shut. Presea decided she might as well try and interact. Perhaps... not interview, just interact, remember, and write later. She headed to the dance floor and glanced about. It wasn't easy as she was in a sea of people taller then herself.

(Punch Club, Isadora)
Hayes didn't catch Izaya's comment amidst the thumping music and nearby conversations; his attention was solely on the girl in his arms as he set her back down, a wide grin crossing his face. "S'like you're trying to kill me or- sorry, let me help you with that," he cut off, realizing the reunion had caused some fallout when Isadora tapped him on the shoulder. "What'd you have?"
"That was my fault; I knocked into him," the brunette girl piped up in Hayes defense as he cast over the messy drinks table in search of napkins or the named.. whatever she'd had. "I haven't seen him in forever and- you didn't call me, you jerk!" Without hesitation, she punched the agent in the shoulder. Either just out of high school or on the brink of twenty, she seemed to have taken the steampunk engineer theme in a different direction than Faleen, opting for a corset over a shirt with rolled up sleeves, shorts, and chaps held up by a low slung belt that tucked into knee-high boots. Faux-rusted goggles with smoked lenses rested on her head, and her green eyes were fixed firmly on the guy she'd just tackled.
"Hey Miss Popular, your voicemail was full," he countered, taking the abuse with a good-natured laugh. "And weren't you in Hoenn?" Napkins, nap.. when he found some, the woman he'd bumped into already seemed to have found another drink, as well as cleaned up the spill on the floor. The blond met her eyes with a helpless shrug. "..I can pour another one on the floor and clean it up?" he suggested, in lieu of anything else to offer.
A familiar snatch of voice caught his ear, but he didn't have time to think about it as the girl had draped her arms around his heck again and rested her chin on his shoulder. "I was," she replied breezily, looking around at the nearby party goers from her vantage point. "Now I'm back. Speaking of popular, where's the friend who dragged you out here? This definitely isn't your scene."

(Bro, Trainers)
Shizuo took the cup of punch out of reflex when the ghost handed it over. "..Thanks." He said with a blink as Bro floated off to give out more drinks. His worries about Izaya and the twins still held most of his attention so he took a gulp of it absentmindedly and didn't notice the slight burn.

(Izaya)
Natalia looked over at the brightly costumed person when she was bumped into and blinked in surprise. It was certainly an interesting take of the superhero theme. When he bowed she curtsied slightly out of habit before straitening up. "Good evening." Did she want to dance? On one hand not really but on the other it would probably help from thinking too much on 'Luke'. "Yes you may, sir." It hadn't been to hard to figure out the androgynous man out for a male thanks to his voice like Izaya had hoped.
...Oh, well maybe it wouldn't help her keep her mind off 'Luke'. She sighed inwardly but masked the possible outer expression. "It's...complicated and I'm not sure I am quite willing to attempt explaining it to someone I have just met just yet. But thank you for asking." Manners, manners were important even when the question just hit home how much 'Luke's' reaction hurt.

A curtsy. Interesting. That couldn't have been part of her role as a witch, could it? More likely it was something done out of habit, like a high-born aristocrat. Now where had he heard of those before...?
Thank goodness she'd taken him for a 'sir'. Hopefully not too many people would stare, considering he still needed his wig for his disguise. "Understood. Sorry, that was unwise of me. Goodness, I haven't met someone with your manners for some time, now...you wouldn't happen to be from Grande Île, would you?"
He hoped he wasn't overstepping his boundaries. Clearly his last stated observation and indirect inquiry about her feelings had only made things worse. Since he didn't know exactly what was wrong, he couldn't skirt around the topic, but hopefully he could get an idea of what it was so he could direct her attention elsewhere.
"Pardon; speaking of manners, I seem to have forgotten mine. I'm Nakura. Or, for the purposes of this costume, the magnificent 'Human-Lover'!" he cried, dramatically raising a finger in the air. "Oops. But you'll keep my secret identity to yourself, won't you?" he asked, bringing his finger to his lips in a pleading gesture.

Isadora blinked in surprise as someone dressed as a superhero - was this one the same one she saw before? No, couldn't be - mopped up the rest of the spilled drink and handed the doctor another soda. Just as the person had arrived, though, they were gone, and Isadora was left feeling grateful but thoroughly confused. Who exactly was that...?
Hearing the blond man behind him addressing her, Isadora turned back around and gave him a much more amiable smile. "Oh, well, it seems like I've already been assisted by some mysterious superhero. Amusing, yes?" What was this guy dressed up as, anyway? Indiana Jones? She was fairly sure that that wasn't one of the costume choices, but she didn't dwell on it. She chuckled a little at the interaction between the brunette and the blond, who seemed to brother and sister or at the very least friends.
"Hah-hah-hah! No, no, it's fine." The jesting offer to clean up a second spill put a smile on Isadora's face as she laughed and held up a polite hand. "I really don't think there's any need for that. Thank you for the offer, I suppose. Oh, and I apologize for being so stern earlier. I'm just a bit of a stickler when it comes to common courtesy. Please don't take it personally." As the Indiana Jones man mentioned the steampunk girl being in Hoenn, Isadora raised a curious eyebrow.
[Trainers and such, Bro]
Anonymes watched the movements of the strange Gengar with much curiosity as he went around the group of trainers and handed some of them cups filled with... something. What was in that? A drink? Drinks were for thirsty people. Anon could tell that his master was thirsty. Anon should get Master a drink! That would surely make Master happy! Yes.
Detaching himself from his master's arm, Anon floated tentatively towards the Gengar and lightly tapped the other Ghost on the shoulder. ["Uh. Um. You have drinks there, right? My master is pretty thirsty. I think he'd like something to drink. Could you maybe let me take something him one of those cups to drink? Please?"]

Why... was everyone... so tall? Presea couldn't see anything above most people's shoulders, even on tip toe. And so many people weren't looking where they were going, the robotic doll was being pushed around a little as people were surging to and from the dance floor. Where was she now? She turned her head at the wrong moment as a woman of substantial girth virtually hip checked her while dancing. Presea stumbled, the key on her back hitting someone, sending her off balance and she landed on someone's shoes. "Ech!" She hissed before looking up at the tall blond zombie. And from down here he seemed even taller.

"Not at all. It is nice to know that people still care enough to ask someone who looks sad. I am just not ready to speak of my troubles at this time." Natalia said with a slight sad smile though she was surprised at the question. "Yes, Grand Isle was where I was born and raised. I take it you have met others then and found my home lands people's manners better then those you meet in general here?" Surely the hero didn't mean that. Do they not have aristocrats here that went to charm school or was home taught? Though maybe he just meant the the general populace like Natalia had asked.
"Pleasure to meet you Nakura, I am Natalia." She said and her smile lessened in gloominess as she chuckled at the scene he made. "Of course, your secret is safe with me." the teen promised, placing her right hand over her heart as if to seal a deal.

Said zombie that the girl fell on looked down at Presea with a raised eyebrow. "Are you alright?" Shizuo asked though he made only a slight move to help her. He would help her fully if it seemed she needed or wanted it but knew better then to just assume. Was it just him or did she seem on the short side as odd as it was to notice that at the moment.

Faleen watched quietly, her eyebrows arching her over eyes as the girl, also in Steampunk was more friendly with Hayes then Faleen had ever seen someone with before. Of corse one had to wonder who this girl was. Though putting certain facts she heard together, along with what she had heard from the past... Faleen thought she had an idea as to who this could possibly be. Interesting.
Faleen turned to Claire when she was spoken to, and offered a soft smile from behind her mask. "Hello, Excuse my short absence, Claire."

"I empathize. About having troubles you'd prefer to take your mind off, I mean," he added. If only Shizuo would drop dead. What a sad smile this girl had. Was it a person who hurt her? Seemed like it went deeper than some petty lost item or a wrong costume choice. Did it have to do with Grande Île? Why did all the people associated with that place seem to have tragic pasts?
"Others? Mm, perhaps a couple," he responded casually, not wanting to confirm anything in the case the young woman got suspicious. "Can't be too sure, but I have my guesses. I like to observe people to understand them," Nakura explained. "But yes, that generally seems to be the case. Your impeccable manners give you away."
He smiled his usual smile. "I was born and raised in this very city. I learned a lot about street smarts, but my understanding of manners was picked up from elsewhere, I'm afraid." Not to mention how to use them to politely infuriate people. "Mostly just your usual slang thrown about these parts with the occasional profanity mixed in. I trust your ladyship hasn't been here long to not realize this."
Taking her hand from her heart gently and holding it in his own as a slower song began, Izaya smiled gratefully. "I thank you," he said. "And, in the case you are new to this place, I welcome you to Camphoreon City. And, perhaps, the reigon of Kodo. I can't quite remember what reigon Grande Île is considered to be a part of." His brow furrowed a moment as he took the lead in the dance, slowly moving a hand to Natalia's waist.
"Lady Natalia...it's a pleasure to meet you. Stick with me, and you'll have nothing to fear from the thugs and gangsters that roam this city." With his smile and mask in place, it was difficult to tell whether he was teasing in the spirit of his heroic role again, or whether he really meant his words. Perhaps it was a bit of both.

Though her eyes were hidden behind the visor, Presea blinked in mild surprise. "I am." She replied. "I think." She hadn't tried standing. She did however shift off of the man's feet and shifted to her knees before trying to stand. The stupid key on her back made it difficult and had her off balance. With some doing, and any help from the man, Presea made it back to her feet and stared up at him.
Darn all these tall people! "Did... I injure you?" It seemed a silly thing to ask. But she did all the same before dusting off her skirt. She was glad she hadn't made him spill the drink he held. That could have ended in a bad, sticky mess. Should she introduce herself? Might as well. The child-sized woman held her hand out to him in greeting. "I am... sorry running into you. I'm Presea."

As Asch continued to scan the crowd, his green eyes eventually fell on a familiar blonde. There she was, all alone and looking quite miserable. He fought back the pang of guilt that hit him and watched her with an indifferent stare.
But what was this? An annoying superhero whom had been prying into Asch's business just a few minutes ago, was now approaching and was soon dancing with Natalia. Eyes narrowed as he watched, but he eventually tore his gaze away, pretending not to care.
He then looked to his partner who was still beside him. "Voulez-vous danser?"

Sierra (@ Bro & anyone else) Having watched some of the goings-on for a while, Sierra seemed to be relaxing a bit...but Khalon could still sense her tension. Glancing about, he noted the Gengar playing waiter with the remaining punch and trotted off towards him. Nearing, the shiny Umbreon raised his voice, only over the music, and attempted to catch the ghost's attention. ' Excuse me? Could I possibly get one of those cups for my trainer? It'd be much appreciated, friend.' he offered pleasantly with a half bow of his front legs. Sierra had just noticed her escort's disappearance, but her panic was stifled as soon as it erupted, as she sighted the shiny Umbreon nearby speaking to some other Pokemon. And...a Gengar with cups of punch? Who knew what you'd see at some of these parties...? The mummy made her way towards the conversing Pokemon, muttering apologies along the way for anyone that she may have bumped into, and being careful not to trip over her own 'bandages'. ===== Sheena (@ anyone) Sheena had ended up on the edge of the dance floor....somehow. Still not entirely sure how that happened. Probably the same way that revealing costume ended up on her too. She blamed Gnome. At the moment. ' Oh, cheer up and chill out, Sheena! Have a little fun!' the Eevee trilled, taking hold of one of her boots with his teeth and attempting to drag her out on the dance floor. "Ack! No! What are you doing?" she protested, nearly loosing her balance as the Eevee tugged her foot out from under her. She attempted to meld back into the crowd, but Gnome was having none of that. He tugged harder on the boot...which instead slipped off her foot. The sudden lack of force caused Sheena to overcompensate and fall backwards onto her bum, amidst the crowd. She shot a venomous look at the now-sheepish Eevee padding over to return her boot in his mouth, and hoping all the while that no one would step on her down here before she could get her damn boot back on.

@Rosie, Sheena Luke couldn't help but laugh at her impression of a pirate. Cliched, maybe, but wasn't that part of the point of costumes? Confusion reemerged when Rosie denied his assumption. "Huh," he said, brow furrowed. "Some chick said there was someone looking for me. Didn't say who, though." Weird. Maybe she had just been messing with him. Well, no matter. He was pulled onto the dance floor, into a world both alien and familiar. He was growing accustomed to the environment of Kodo that had once left him reeling, nearly suffocating in an effort to get his feet on solid ground. There was something relaxing about being amidst people he knew as friends, enjoying himself for the simple sake of enjoying himself. His thoughts were interrupted when a sandaled foot collided with something other than the floor, and he instinctively turned to see what he had nearly stepped on. He hadn't expected it to be a woman, and a silent stare likely betrayed his surprise. "Uh." Well it wasn't exactly very nice to just leave her down there. He offered a hand to help her rise, "You okay?" __________ @Asch Where Asch found Natalia and from her discovered Izaya, Aila found Izaya and from him discovered the blond woman that had been pursuing Asch earlier. Perhaps he was feeling a bit more normal, then, to have approached and involved himself with a stranger. There was something at least faintly reassuring in that, she supposed... Asch's sudden question caught her off-guard, and she took a brief, silent moment to consider before offering her reply, "Pourquoi pas." It was the verbal equivalent to a shrug, in essence, but it was certainly better than spending the rest of the evening sitting in a corner and watching everyone else around her enjoy themselves. She rose and took a meaningful step in the direction of the floor, instinctively waiting for her partner to lead.

Sheena (@ Rosie & Luke)
Sheena was just pulling her boot on again when she was delivered another boot...in the bum. "Oh for..." she muttered in complaint, reaching back and rubbing her hip. It was like she cursed herself just by thinking these things. Her scowl quickly dissolved, however, as she looked up at the question. With a tired sigh and a roll of her eyes, she offered back, "Yeah, think I'll live." Then she half-smiled and reached for the offered hand, using her free hand to push off the floor and get her feet under her again, hopefully without any further embarrassments occurring, like...costume malfunction or something. "Thanks."
Success!
Once more upright, she looked herself over to make sure nothing was 'amiss'. Nah, still well...mostly covered. As covered as this outfit allowed anyway. She turned her attention back to her 'rescuer' and his friend. "Thanks again for that. I mean, I didn't draw 'doormat' as a costume or anything. Probably should spend less time on the floor, eh?" She chuckled weakly, still a bit embarrassed by her earlier plight. Darn pesky Eevee. Smiling at the pirate and the uh...forest fairy?...she offered her hand once more. "Name's Sheena."
