Well one had to give the Rattata something...they apparently had a colon made of steel...
Removing what he could of the Rattata's leavings from the key with the fang, the boy would then take it tentatively off the ground and place it in a now unused pouch on the back of his belt. Best to keep it away from the rest of his items until he could properly clean it...[Jingle~!][Raven got Mysterious Key!]That dealt with, the child would otherwise avoid the scads of scat as he proceeded forward. The key would certainly be a point of interest later; but for the time being he had other business of which to attend...

The boy would continue forward as he left the right corridor to find himself in the left one as the pathway would seem to swing about ...this was a place where like the first there was plenty of room. A huge bit of space ....as the boy could see this was where if his movements earlier had been soundless he might have come upon his prey all together.
There were holes in the floor, big enough for Rattatta to crawl through ...or into. IT wasn't dangerous to Raven any more than ..maybe as places where if he didn't watch his steps his foot could go through, and they seemed to be spaced out enough so as not to weaken the floor. He could continue onwards without any problems from here.
This seemed to be Raven's luck ....good and a bit of bad.

Indeed he was finding himself with mixed results to his luck. Still, it spoke well for at least one thing. He was most certainly heading in the right direction; it was likely no more then a matter of mere time before he actually encountered his quarry.
Besides, perhaps it was best he hadn't met all of them at once, or even a large number. He'd hoped to use this extermination mission as a way to retrain Crowe and Requiem...he doubted either of the two were ready to face more then a single opponent at a time right now...
Picking his way carefully around the holes, the boy would proceed forward. He'd need to tell someone about those later so they might be closed off...

It was near the end of that corridor that he would hear it ...the sound of squeaking before one of those Rattata woudl appear in front of him. Small and purple, the creature was looking neither left nor right as it sniffled the ground in front of her ...as her tail swishes from left to right. Her eyes were narrowed ....as she stopped at his footsteps and hissed showing off all of her teeth.
It would seem that he had just meet his first opponent.

Raven would scowl deeply, his eyes narrowing as he began to observe the Rattatta closely. At last the battles could begin, and at last his Pokemon would soon know the taste of victory once more.
Pushing his cloak aside with a wave of one arm...a gesture slightly diminished in this enclosed space...the boy would reach for the third Pokeball upon his belt. He'd said it already, Crowe would be the first to take the battlefield this day.
Standing taller then Raven at 5'7, this would be more then a tight squeeze for the Skarmory; but as red light flashed and the armored bird was released, it was evident that wouldn't pose too much of a problem. There would be no dodging for the bird, but given the nature of his form, lowering his head away from the ceiling would be a relatively simple affair.
Scraping his steely claws against the ground, the Skarmory ruffled his feathers in a threatening gesture ">En Garde!<" He called, the words sounding hallow even to his own ears. He'd lost his taste for combat...he had met death and had no desire for a second visit....but if the boy called for him he would answer. For now that was his duty.

Bio: Crowe was first encountered upon the second ring of Beginner Island amidst a crater. With wings that shimmered like steel, the bird no less landed upon the ground and challenged Raven to a duel directly. Battle fiercely against Genn, the conflict seemed to take an eternity as the two near immovable objects clashed. With a swift hand, Raven was able to throw a single PokeBall and capture the bird...with a slight chase soon to follow. Struck by the ball in the air, the capsule soon flew over the side of the crater, forcing Raven to pursue it by sliding down the side upon Genn's back. During the process of which the boy encountered a Sneasel...and soon both he and it were hanging off the crater by a branch. After a struggle and much dramatics, Raven was able to retrieve the ball, and save the little Dark-Type he had accidentally placed in a perilous situation. Since then Crowe has shown a strong sense of honour, reacting to nearly every battle as if it were a duel with that very thing on the line.
Shortly after the elimination of the Strike Student Trix's Meinfoo, Crowe too met oblivion at the hands of the girl's Magmar. His body burned down to cinders, an egg would form from the ashes due to the ability of Team Legacy's Guard Student. Reborn from the egg soon after, Raven gave him the same name he'd held in his previous life. Yet the experience of his death has changed the Skarmory. The memory haunts him, sending chills down his spine...the Skarmory has rarely spoken since the initial squawks at his rebirth.

The Rattatta upon spotting her opponent would simply chatter her teeth in a matter that can only be seen as threatening. She would scrape her claws against the earth as her ears would flatten against her skull. This was a bird that hunted their kind without mercy ....a creature that would still her life if she wasn't careful.
She had heard and seen their kind before ...as her tail whips from side to side and she woudl charge forward. She was much faster than the steely titan of the skies as she would aim for that vunerable neck.
She would aim her attack for the joint that connected the base to it's shoulders as she moved to actually choke her.

"Crowe counter with Peck!" The boy would call, swift and abrupt as he thrust one arm forward. Perhaps a bit over dramatic for such a simple command, but something deep inside him compelled him to perform the gesture.
Crowe would give no spoken response. Once given the command he would take a single step backward, stamping his foot harshly against the frosted steel beneath him. The action would cause the floor of the shaft to shake slightly; hopefully enough to unbalance the much smaller Rattatta.
The next moment the Skarmory would lunged, his beak held sharp and straight. He aimed to strike the rodent right between the eyes. He was unlikely to pierce it's skull in a single move, but the sharp blow was likely to scatter it's thoughts.

Though it would end faster than they had planned as the beak would shoot forward and catch the mouse even as it shaky foot steps would make it sway into the incoming beak. The sound of metal against skull would make a popping sound like something bursting through a balloon and the Rattatta would sunk to the floor completely unconscious at and at the boy's mercy.
That was their fight fight, and it was over in a single strike.

Raven would nod briefly, pleased with the outcome. Even after meeting death's embrace his Skarmory had not lost it's touch.
Recalling the large metal bird, the boy would stride forward and unsheath his blade. He was here to exterminate the Rattata, not simply remove them. He couldn't risk that it would awake later and return to it's chewing.
Thus with a single swift strike, the boy would sever the rodents head and be on his way...

It's blood would leave a trail ...on the floor as it drips and drops from where it had been cut and along Raven's path. As he would leave the left corridor and re-enter into that small space that is a vent ....as a Rattatta would creep along. His ears were up as he saw them ....even as he walked through one of the cross areas ....the smell of blood of another of it's kind made it turn to face them instead of running away.
It's ears were down and it's teeth bared. It knew death when it saw it, and it knew that if he didn't stop them ...they would kill more of the colony and that wasn't allowed as the Rattata male would move to stand in Raven's way.

It would only require a few sparse moments in the rodents presence for Raven to reach for his belt. In a single effortless motion he'd call forth his Skarmory once more.
Wings held tight at his side, the metal bird would simple wait to see what the rodent would do.

He wouldn't have to wait long as the Rattata first froze in fear of the predatory bird, but upon seeing that it's wings were wedge so tightly that it had no hope of flight that fear would fall away as the bird lunges for the throat of it's opponent. Teeth chattering loudly as it went to try and pierce through it's metal hide as it uses ...Bite ...near the bird's legs. It figured if you take an opponent's feet out from underneath it ...it would fall, and thus, that was where it aimed it's first strike.

Fall was precisely what the large armoured bird intended to do.
Ruffling his feathers, the Skarmory would rather abruptly allow his slim legs to buckle beneath him, allowing the full force of his weight to strike the ground. He he timed it right the pull of gravity would have him down at the Rattatta's level before it was close enough to reach in and strike.
Timing was key; for just as before, Crowe would lunge with his beak in an attempt to strike the purple furred rodent between the eyes. There was little chance of finishing this battle in a single strike twice in a row; but the maneuver had worked so well last time, why not try again?
Indeed, precisely as he had before, the Skarmory was countering with Peck!

The pokemon would skid in shock trying to stop as the target seems to suddenly sit down on him. His paws leaving deep furrows in the ground ...as he drew closer and closer with his teeth tightly clamp shut ....as he would come to a stop within a few feet of the main body, and breathe a sigh of relief ...only seconds before it would hit him ...between the eyes. The pokemon's beak, because, the Rattata had stopped a few Rattatta feet away.
Blood leaked down the side of his face, as the pokemon turned and tried to run away ....to get some distances between himself and that bird's beak for a second time.

"Crowe, attack with Peck! Snip that rodent's tail!" Raven commanded sharply, his voice echoing slightly in the vents. The words had been a tad more demanding then he'd wished; but the midst of battle called for quick instruction and swifter action.
The Skarmory would react without responding, prefer for the moment to simply do as the child requested. Without a second thought as the bird's head retreated from the first blow, it would immediately lunge forward once more. This time the target would, as Raven had instructed, the Rattata's tail.
Crowe wasn't quite certain such an attack would cut the rodent's tail; it seemed altogether more likely that his beak would miss, striking the Rattata's posterior.
