xxxxxAs Light watched Lorelei retreating down the street, his thoughts became a jumble of hesitation and confusion. Hesitation because he knew he should follow her, but his body stood stock still in place. He knew he could easily track her, her innocence giving trust to those who did not deserve it. This thought lead to the confusion. He knew that she must not be marred by the poison of the world, but how else would he get what he wanted? Hurting her would cause Light himself to cast in with the poisonous seeds he wished to destroy. "Dammit all." Light seethed, kicking the sidewalk, and turning to Rynthian. "I can't... I can't! Ugh!" He tapped his foot as he listened to his new comrade talk of Ryuk, his own shinigami, and compare the size of Namine's body to the unknown family member Lorelei spoke of.

xxxxx"Ryuk is likely not neutral anymore, and the scary part is he's likely not going to be on our side... Your shinigami's actions are with you, I can't imagine that he would put us in danger if he cares for you in any way." Light closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, as he tried to imagine how he was going to follow his hypothesis.

xxxxx"When it comes to Lorelei's friend though..." He sighed heavily and reopened his eyes. "I'm sure, for some reason I do not fully understand that Lorelei is the key. We need another lead..." Carefully Light opened the passenger door to Rynthian's car, and let himself in. Allowing himself a moment to relax his hold on Namine he took in a few deep breath's and waited for her to say something. Anything.

xxxxx"This is your chance Namine. Take it or leave it."

xxxxx"What would make you think I have anything to say?"

xxxxx"I've seen her Namine."

xxxxx"You haven't---"

xxxxx"The girl that you were trying so hard to hide. You may not have been stupid enough to utter her name, but I saw her."

xxxxx"That silly girl was just a slip of the mind to make you think you had something, but you've got nothing."

xxxxx"Oh no, you see it all just seems to tie together. The size of the clothes, the random person you just so happened to think of by accident according to you seeming to look as if she would be a perfect fit for the clothes Rynthian described. The only thing that makes me think they may be different is Lorelei saying that this girl was visiting her, and your memory of her was of her alone." Light chuckled before continuing. "You see even that makes it all fit, because just as L had come from out of town, so could this mystery woman." Light could even imagine this girl being cautious enough to not be frequently seen with the sweet Lorelei that she entrusted to shop for her.

xxxxxLet your friend know I think he's a pervert by the way!"

xxxxx"Whatever you wish, but let me ask you this. Are you trying to change the subject because I've hit the nail on the head?"

xxxxxOf course not. I was only thinking of how he reflected on the shape of my body to describe the clothes. The clothes could be for anyone.

xxxxx"I'm sorry Namine, but I'm not buying into that. The girl in your mind is the girl Lorelei is helping, and it's because of you I can make the connection. You see, I think your body is very becoming of me." He chuckled, and closed his eyes again. He was beginning to relax now, he knew that Namine would react emotionally even though Light was throwing darts in the dark.

xxxxx"Think what you want, but your dead wrong."

xxxxx"I apologize Rynthian, but I have not been entirely open with you." Light began smiling over at the red-haired man sitting beside him. "You know that I can communicate with Namine of course, and might have come to think that I could access her memories if holes were found in her mind. At least I imagine you would make a connection like that." Light's eyes were almost glinting with excitement now. Hope waring in his mind as he tried to push Namine to react.

xxxxx"Don't Light, Bad idea. What if he tries to betray you? He could turn you in." Namine gnashed her teeth together in furious frustration. The immortal's were meant to be kept hidden, chaos could ensue if people were to be handed their secrets.

xxxxx"Turn me in for what, being immortal this time around?"




xxxxxAfter leaving Rynthian, Ryuk flew off to hide and wait for Lorelei. He wasn't truly sure if Light was right about her, but it was a chance he was willing to take. Though when they reached their destination he felt silly for not going there himself to begin with. He'd seen the old offices before, though it was quite interesting to see that it had been somewhat redone. He took in the sight with thoughtful curiosity. Lorelei's reaction, L's feeble attempts to stand, and Yamamoto's figure vibrating with energy as he pulled a phone from his pocket just as it rang.




xxxxxThe shrill ring of the phone and the door opening at once made Yamamoto jump slightly, though he regained his composure quickly as he recognized Lorelei's face. "Please take a seat miss, I'll explain what happened momentarily." He left L's side to lead the worried woman to the couch, to worried to think of closing the door.

xxxxx"Is it Kyzomo?!" L asked hope bringing a bit of color back to his exhausted face, pushing aside the fast that this could be a call that held the bad news he refused to believe possible.

xxxxxHe flipped open the phone and put it to his ear, "Yamamoto."



xxxxxWithout a thought, Matsuda helped Kyzomo carry Y and the few things they had into the house Kyzomo had taken them to. His body was moving on it's own accord, dealing with the situation that his emotions could not.

xxxxx"What do we do now?" Matsuda's question was barely a whisper, but he couldn't manage more than that.



xxxxxNoctorie was taken aback by the clarity that Y's voice came in, but unsurprised by the groggy tone it took on. She could only imagine that her body was barely clinging onto life. "My name is Noctorie, the shinigami Yamamoto once spoke of." She listened carefully to the girl's mutterings, but she was unsure of what she could mean. There was only one other shinigami wasn't there? "I assume you could be speaking of Ryuk," Noctorie answered. "Though I do not know of another other than ourselves."

xxxxxShe shook her head and put the thought to the side. If there was another out there he or she would have to wait. "Yianna, you must cling onto your soul. You are needed here by more than just your friends, but the fate of this world itself needs you now."

Rythian sighed at Light’s words. ‘So Ryuk decided to betray light again? He did it before, I’m not too surprised he’s done it now, but this time he’s join the other team...’ he thought then his face brightened “Excors and I are on equal terms of boredom. I relieve her of her boredom and she aids me.” He explained simply. Rythian thought a moment on a lead. Leaning back in his car he went over the people that were involved. ‘So Lorelei is in fact involved, Yianna that girl, damn freaks me out. L is back...so far that is all. If Yianna has that girl Lorelei doing her bidding, I wouldn’t be surprised if she has other people doing different jobs as well...maybe.’ he thought a moment. ‘This couldn’t be the same girl that Light is looking for could it.’ Rythian thought it through, ‘she was with L when they first met, and in fact she almost seemed protective of him. Dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, her figure, it could easily fit the clothing that Lorelei had. But, Excors...’ he glanced over at Light worried ‘I’m sure Light will no doubt have her killed, she’s an obstacle between him and the new world. Excors will hate me for it though...She may even go against us if she sees her die, she might even try and kill light if possible.’ He opened his mouth to speak but stopped ‘what if I just not tell him...he could figure it out on his own can’t he...’ he faced forward again taking out a page that was tucked under his pants. He began to write out names, he had to keep a schedule after all, if the killings stopped people would take notice. He needed to keep writing names to die in the future, so that even if Light or himself couldn’t do the job, at least things would still be progressing. He focused looking down then spoke “Her name is Yianna,” he said simply “I saw her face...her name and death. I had a mask on of course; she has no idea who I am. But she was with L. Along with that other immortal you saw.” He noted “But light.” He was concerned “Please know that I think Excors is very protective of her, she may go against us if we’re not careful. At first I thought she was just some ordinary girl, but the more I think about it, her physic, the way she talks gets into your mind.” He paused his writing to look over at Light and point to his head “She could be the one pulling the strings.” He continued to jot names down. He focused more on what light just said “I had a feeling you were turning a bit feminine” he joked with a smile, putting his utensil away and placing the page back. “I was worried that she might take over your soul or something. But I guess the effect is going the other way around?” this was very complex for Rythian; he didn’t quite understand the situation between Namine and Light. But he understood that the two were sharing her body. “well, let’s talk more when we get home, ‘Cousin’” he smiled again and drove home. Rythian was concerned, he didn’t know what Light’s next steps would be, but he had full faith in him. This being the only reason why he told him everything he knew. Light would only be able to make a proper plan if he understood the situation and all his information. He would be a very crummy ally otherwise. Besides, Mikami told him nothing and look how that ended.












“...yes it is.” Kyzomo said, still a bit dazed he looked over at Matsuda, to answer him. Kyzomo smiled “Just stay beside her, keep tract of things, let me know if it happens again.” he said then walked to a separate room to give Matsuda some space “She...she’s died...again...she came back a moment” he was unusually calm about all this. Though he was very uneasy about the fact that she came back to life, if only for s moment. “She was mumbling to herself, it was like she didn’t realize where she was. Something about the death note, being able to revive people after they were written. That type of stuff, but she’s gone again. Matsuda’s taking care of her now.” A memory went through his mind, Y always told him to not spend more than a few minutes on a phone. People could track them if they were on the run. Kyzomo chuckled “Once L is calm come over I suppose. Tell him she’s alright, I think. She came back...so there’s no telling what could happen. Also tell Lorelei, just...lie to her, I don’t think Y would want her to know. Mention that they found our hiding place or something.” He said then hung up abruptly. He sighed, taking a moment to think

“How on earth did I get myself into this mess?” He walked back over to the room Matsuda was in, seeing him almost in a trance. He was used to having no emotion towards the families of the dead people he dealt with in his lifetime. But Matsuda’s reactions were almost unbearable to him. Kyzomo felt at a loss. “You need some water?” he asked standing beside Matsuda, looking down at Y’s body. He had no idea what to do next. He dealt with disposing of corpses, not watching them, let alone the corpse of a friend.














“...Yamamoto...” she paused not understanding the name. The name Noctorie was unfamiliar to her as well. “No...No...Not Ryuk...no another...name...it had a name...did it have a name? Name...” she was having issues placing thoughts and words together. She focused her mind on the shinigami before her, listening carefully as she spoke. “Needed...I can’t remember...why would this world need me...I’m the last of 6.” The words she spoke almost made sense to her, but she couldn’t comprehend why she said them. An image flashed in her mind, of the moment she had in the car, when she was alive only minutes ago. “A shinigami killed me didn’t it...not just once now but twice...twice I died...twice I died...twice...” her voice felt like it was echoing in her head. “Twice I left, once I came back.” She held her head getting a migraine. “The world needs me? Against an immortal serial killer, a death note, and a shinigami” the words still made no sense to her but they felt like they were what she wanted to say, a figured appeared in her mind “Her...her...it’s her...the one who got my parents...her isn’t it...the hooded one...the one I see...the shinigami...why is she killing me?” tears welled up in her eyes. “But she always was with me...she never hurt me...but...I...I don’t want to hate her...why do I feel like I need to hate her...aren’t we...” her head was hurting her more; she could feel herself sinking again. She didn’t want to sink this time, her soul was refusing it. She felt like she was forcefully being pulled down, ripped out of whatever place she was in. And then she took in a gasp of air.
Eyes wide she flung up from the couch. Air hungry, she gasped in deep breaths. Holding her head she looked around confused, and dazed. Everything seemed blurry, and out of distortion.

Lorelei will comply to everything Yamamoto tells her, carrying her bags of products she bought for Y with her.









“Please girl do not feel wrathful to me, do not hate me for what I have done, accept the consequences that will come, because all this pain is to protect you, I promise I will protect you...” Excors repeated to herself, knowing she would write it down again, just once more. “Even if Light turns me to dust...”
