Meme followed Rufus to the bedroom and listened carefully. There was no time to be bashful and wait for the Prince to leave so he could get dressed. Meme picked up a shirt and turned around so his back was toward Rufus before he took off his old shirt and replaced it with the new one; his pants followed shortly. Once he was dressed he looked at himself in the mirror, now he looked like one of the servants which wold disguise him very well. "Okay, I'm ready to go." he said softly, his heart thumping a bit too much in his chest as he grew even more nervous.
}{ Kuro Suji }{
Kuro looked over toward Akito and pulled a lever to pop the window open slightly but it was very cold outside. He wrapped an arm around the boy and brought him closer to his body. "I'll try and keep you warm." he said softly, looking out the window with the same serious expression he always had. It would be a little while before they reached the blockage.

 He held Meme's hand, squeezed it and then let go to lead the way to the exit they needed to use. "Fewer people come this way; we have a bag filled with enough food to last us all day since we've a long walk ahead. We should make it there by nightfall. I know it's not how we want to spend our first days as a married couple, but you'll be safe."
He gently lifted the hood on Meme's coat and kissed his hand. "Let's go."

Meme blushed at the kiss to his hand and rushed off with the Prince. "We aren't taking a carriage to get there? It would be faster, especially if you have one that looks inconspicuous so we don't alert anyone in the villages." he panted, trying his hardest to keep up with the man but Rufus had much longer legs than he did. Meme had to take two steps just to complete one of Rufus' in order to keep up.

Kuro continued to look out the window wondering if everything would be alright. "If the King speaks rudely to you, don't say anything back unless he asks you a question. He is not a patient man but I doubt he will strike you because you are so young." he stated bluntly. "I know you've met him before but it was for a brief amount of time before he fled the country to aid another kingdom." he said softly as he noticed villagers outside staring at the royal carriage in curiosity. Kuro closed to the window and drew the small curtains on his side before leaning over Akito to close the curtains on the boy's side. "If at all possible, if he threatens you I will distract him." Though Kuro knew the King wasn't so easily fooled, but it was the least he could do.

Rufus bit his lip. "I don't have any 'inconspicuous' carriages. My father hated my extravagant side, so I made more of them that way - even the simplest ones have my symbol in huge, bright colours. And I thought we'd be seen on horseback... though I could try carrying you?"

Meme couldn't help but giggle a little, the person he saw next to him didn't appear to be such a lavish male. It was comical really. "No it's okay I don't mind walking....but you know....we could disguise ourselves in cloaks and ride horseback. It would be enough to shroud our identity and we could get a handkerchief to cover part of our faces. Nobody would know who we are." Meme was indeed fine with walking but if it was going to be a long walk, horseback would provide faster and safer travels, especially if someone were to try and hurt them along their journey.

Kuro looked over at Akito and extended a hand, pressed firmly against the boy's cheek to turn his head toward him. "You will do no such thing....when you first meet him try not to upset him much. But when he enters the castle, you will heed my warning." he said rather harshly but it was for the poor boy's own good.

"I think we -" he sighed and hung his head. "I thought it would also give us the chance to spend some time together. I have my sword, and if we're followed then I can protect us. But I can go back for horses if you wish."
He neglected to mention that there were a couple of his father's spies in the area around the palace, and although he had been sure to spread various rumours - that he'd divorced the person who'd tricked him; he'd never married at all, it was all a hoax, a prank; that he couldn't possibly have gotten married without his father there - the spies weren't stupid. If they saw him sneaking around they'd investigate. So he'd tried to leave everything as normal as possible.

But it's my job and you need to do yours which doesn't involve protecting me to that extent. I deal with rude people all the time. I can be passive, vacant and irresponsive towards rudeness and insults, so as long as he doesn't hit me I'll be fine." He smiled.

Meme blushed a little when he heard the Prince's original plan behind walking, now he felt stupid for ever emphasizing the fact that they could use the horses to get to the safehouse. He couldn't believe he didn't consider the fact that Rufus wanted to spend time together with him. "No..it's okay. Maybe walking won't be so bad after all." he said with a small smile, taking his husband's hand as they continued to walk.

Kuro was beginning to get frustrated with the boy, why couldn't he just say 'okay' and leave it at that? "We shall see." he said softly, the boy's hand on his made his cheeks warm and turn slightly pink. Stupid physiological reactions, there were times Kuro thought he could do without them.

Meme blushed even more at his husband's words. "N-No that's okay! You don't need to bother yourself with that. I can walk on my own and....cross the threshold as well...." he said softly. Meme looked ahead and saw a black hooded figure walking toward them, they couldn't see his face which made Meme a little suspicious of him. He almost wanted to stop walking but he knew if he did that, the hooded figure might see that as an opportunity to attack.

After some time had passed, the carriage came to the blockage where the princess from another land and her father stood, awaiting any signal from them. Kuro looked over at Akito and made sure the boy was presentable looking before he escaped the carriage. He brought the boy's hand to his lips and gave a soft kiss. "Be safe." he said softly before he allowed Akito to leave.

Rufus saw the figure at the same time as Meme did, but he realised that whilst Meme's face was mostly covered, his own was visible. "Right. In a moment we'll stop. I'll kiss your hand and you'll head away from me towards that tree ahead and to the left. Then I'll meet the person coming our way and see what they want - if anything." He smiled softly. "We'll be fine. Hide behind the tree."

Meme nodded, he wouldn't argue with the prince, especially with someone they didn't know approaching them. He stopped when the Prince indicated and allowed him to kiss his hand. As instructed Meme turned and walked in a casual fashion, so as not to pose an alarm, toward the tree Rufus was mentioning earlier. The hooded figure approached Rufus and pulled back their hood to reveal an aging woman who appeared to be from a different kingdom entirely. "Please sir...I've been traveling for days without money for food. Could you spare a few coins?" she asked, sounding rather weak and tired but nonetheless the old woman appeared sweet.
}{ Kuro Suji }{
Kuro watched the boy hop out of the carriage, hoping everything would go smoothly and according to plan. Though, of course, nothing in life was ever so easy. He instructed the driver of the carriage to take them to a discrete location a few blocks from here, and the carriage man did as he was told. Once he arrived at the location he needed to be in, Kuro told the carriage man to wait here until he returned, walking down the street toward the Inn where he sat at the bar to have a drink and await the woman he was to meet.
The King had waited for a couple hours, most of the time him and his daughter were waiting inside a small hotel since it was so cold out but as it neared daylight they decided to be outside in order to see the carriage. Once the King caught sight of a dark carriage and a young boy step out he was relieved an irritated at the same time. "Are you with Prince Rufus?" he asked rather gruffly, not at all amused at the amount of time they were waiting.((I was going to play the King from the neighboring kingdom and you the woman))

He couldn't let his guard down, but he couldn't turn her away either. But he didn't have any money on him, so instead he reached into his bag - their food and drink was inside, close to his waist - and pulled out cheese, bread and an apple. He broke off some of the cheese, ripped a piece of bread and offered them to her. "I'm sorry I cannot offer you coins, but will this food do?"

Akito straightened his clothes, squared his shoulders and marched his way towards the waiting King and Princess. He bowed before the King. "Yes, I am Prince Rufus' servant, and the road blockage kept us from getting to you sooner. I offer the most humble apologies. We are getting the blockage cleared as quickly as possible. In the short meantime, I am at your service. Might I enquire whether the Prince's father is also in residence at the Inn?"
((Oops. I'm sorry I forgot to write an Akito response. Right and later on you rp Rufus' father? He's at the same inn as the Princess and her father.))

The old woman smiled even brighter and accepted the food happily. "Why thank you, that is awful kind of you. I must be on my way now." she said softly, pulling the hood over her head once more and continuing on her way. Meme was keeping a careful watch over them and once the old woman was out of sight, Meme came up to Rufus and clung to his side. "I'm glad it wasn't someone trying to hurt us." he stated as he took the Prince's hand in his own.
The King looked down on the young boy as if he were nothing but a peasant. "It's about damn time you got here, we've been waiting for ages." he stated in the same gruff tone, placing a protective hand on his daughter's shoulder. "The Prince's father was at the Inn during the night, he only just left for his son's castle a few seconds ago. You just missed him. When can we expect to be escorted there as well?"

Rufus re-packed the food just before Meme came back. "So am I, Meme. Now, let us be on our way." He was relieved that the woman didn't seem to have noticed Meme's return; she could still have been a spy of some kind. The Prine started them moving again, keeping ahold of Meme's hand.

Trapped. ♫♪♫♪♫ Akito Nakamura ♪♫♪♫♪ "We shall escort you to the palace within the next two days, Your Highness. I am unsure whether or not the King shall be sent back here; the blockage is not yet cleared sufficiently for more than one carriage or horse to squeeze through at a time. A second tree fell sometime after the first, creating a second blockage - in short, we need to clear the whole road to ensure safety, and the work is well under way."
He bowed and gestured towards the Inn. "Might I offer you refreshments at the Prince's expense? We brought the finest champagne with us..."
The Princess watched Akito, hiding her anxiety and her relief when the servant said the King, her potential father-in-law, would likely be sent back before long. If they refused to let him through on the grounds of safety, then she would have time to hear the Prince's answer.

Meme walked with the prince a considerable amount, his legs were starting to get a little tired but he was used to it. He endured much harsher treatments than this. "It's getting hot out." he said softly, trying to break the silence as much as he could but with the lack of atmosphere around the hidden path they were taking, it was rather difficult. "I'm sorry about all of this. None of this would have happened if I hadn't been so stupid and impersonate a princess." he said softly, the guilt from their current stressful predicament rising within him again.
The King gave a heavy sigh, of course things were going to take a couple more days. It's not like he had been waiting for this day anxiously or anything. "Fine. We already have a private dining table reserved at the Inn on the fourth floor. Bring the champaigne with you, we will meet you there." he said as he looked to his daughter. "Will you aid him and make sure he finds his way back to the Inn on his own. I don't want the Prince's father barking up my tree just because we lost one of his damn servants who couldn't figure out simple directions." he grumbled, already having a very irritable day indeed.
