As his friend laid down next to him, Sacredkit turned his head to look at her and playfully pawed at her. In truth, this was his first time actually playing with another kit and he found himself enjoying it greatly. He couldn't believe what he had been missing out on, or maybe it was just the fact that it was Orchidkit he was playing with. She always seemed to be able to make him smile.]

[Orchidkit scrambled to her paws and poked Sacredkit in the belly once mroe with a soft paw. There was something about this kit that made her more excited than usual. But being only a kit, she pinned it on just being excited to play with another kit outside the nursery.]
"Let's play with a moss ball!" Orchidkit squeaked, jumping over him excitedly. "C'mon, let's go find one!"

[The little ginger kit padded a ways forward with her tail in the air and ears pricked. She had gone through the same conversation yesterday with her brother Runningkit. It was too bad their mother caught them and forced them back to the nursery.]
"Well...yesterday me n' Runningkit tried the medicine cat's den..." she said, turning back around to face Sacredkit. "But Momma caught us and we had to go to the nursery...maybe we can ask someone where we can find one!"

xxxxxx[Sacredkit listened, his ears pricking at the sound of the medicine cat den. Nightclan had two... Rabbitfoot and Hauntedheart. At least, the kit was pretty sure that was their names. He had never actually seen them but he had spotted them around camp a few times. They'd probably have some moss that they could spare... but who could they ask to go get it for them. Almost everyone seemed to be at the gathering and no one else seemed to be around. Maybe they could just sneak in and get some. Afterall, his mother was busy with his siblings, his uncle at the gathering, his father wasn't around, and Orchidkit's mother was at the gathering too. So they couldn't get caught if no one was around to catch them.]
xxxxxx"Maybe we could sneak in to the medicine cat den, since no one's around. We couldn't possibly get caught!" he mewed with absolute confidence, puffing his chest out slightly.
xxxxxx[The tom glanced over at his friend before turning to head toward the medicine cat den. He had almost made it to the entrence when he glanced back at Orchidkit, hoping she was following, only to end up running into something solid. Uh oh... Sacredkit stumbled back a few steps and looked up, his gray eyes meeting the crystal-like ones of the NightClan medicine cat. Sacredkit smiled shyly, unsure if Hauntedheart would snap at him. The young kit had heard rumors of how bad-tempered she could be at times, hopefully she was in a good mood today. The medicine cat stared down at the kit and Sacredkit simply stared back, unsure if she was expecting him to say something.]
xxxxxx"Um... uh hi Hauntedheart!" the tom squeaked, still unsure of the unpredictable medicine cat. "Um.. you see.. Orchidkit and I were hoping to play with a moss ball but we... uh weren't sure where else to get one, except your den, and no was around so I was coming to get one..."
xxxxxx"Very well, I'll get you one," Hauntedheart replied, retreating to her den before Sacredkit could even musture a thank you.
xxxxxx[Sacredkit stood patiently until the medicine cat retreated. She placed the moss ball in front of him and nudged it forward with her nose. Sacredkit's eyes widened as he spotted the moss ball and he shifted his paws happily.]
xxxxxx"T-Thank you Hauntedheart!" he mewed happily before looking back toward Orchidkit, not even noticing the medicine cat walking past him toward the exit to camp. "Look Orchidkit! Hauntedheart got us one!"I'm a cat, and my name'sXXXX

[Orchidkit stood there for a moment with her tail lashing, then suddenly pounced on the moss ball, mewling in excitement. She snatched it in her mouth, then turned to Sacredkit with her rear end wiggling the air.]
"Catch me if ya can!" Orchidkit challenged joyfully, bouncing from side to side on nimble white paws.

The young tom didn't have long to dwell upon the thought since Orchidkit had soon grabbed the moss ball and run off in the opposite direction. Sacredkit watched her for only a few seconds before bounding after her, eager to start playing. The tom moved quickly on his paws, giggling joyfully, as he tried to catch the pretty she-kit. He chased after her, ignoring any of the other cats in the clearing, before preparing to pounce on Orchidkit.]

[Orchidkit let out a gleeful mewl as she felt Sacredkit's paws pounce on her back. She tumbled on the soft undergrowth with paws flailing and tails flying. Giggling almost uncontrollably, she didn't notice that the moss ball went flying in some direction. When the two kits finally stopped tumbling, Orchidkit meowed excitedly and tugged gently at Sacredkit's ear with her teeth.]
"Imma getcha!" she said, pawing at his head playfully.
[Her heart was filled with the purest happiness. There was something about Sacredkit that made her feel special. Maybe it was only because Charmingkit was seemingly his polar opposite, and it felt good that she was playing with his supposed enemy after the way he treated her. But Orchidkit didn't care either way. At this moment in time, she was having the time of her life.

 ✖✖✖✖✖✖Rainblast ✖✖✖✖✖✖[Rainblast padded out of the nursery. He had just poked his nose in to make sure that Charmingkit wasn't being too much trouble. He was going to be let off his punishment soon anyways, but still. He padded past Orchidkit and Sacredkit, and wouldn't have stopped, if they hadn't made a comment about Hauntedheart. No matter what anyone said, she was a great cat. The young warrior loved the medicine cat like a mother, and in a sense, that was what she was. She had given them milk when they had no one else. She kept them alive, he sighed and cast a glance to the troubled medicine cat.]
[Shaking his head, he turned around and padded to Orchidkit and Sacredkit.] "Why is Hauntedheart a meanie?" [He questioned softly, almost in a whisper, as they played. If they didn't answer his question, that was fine. Rainblast sat down and curled his tail around his paws. He loved to watch kits play. The young father chuckled, kits had so much energy. He briefly wondered if he should move so they wouldn't bump into him, but he decided against it. He found it unlikely that they wouldn't see him. Had his father said something? It sounded like it was about Hauntedheart... yet Sacredkit hadn't heard the rest of his father's question. Oh well, probably wasn't all that important anyways.]

Hauntedheart
[The medicine cat watched as Sacredkit bounded off toward Orchidkit again. The tom was Rainblast's son, her adoptive son's son. She was happy for her adoptive son and his family. Hopefully they would have many moons of happiness together. She would always love the tom like he was her real son, and in a way he was. Or at least to Hauntedheart he was. she had raised him from birth and had watched him grow into a wonderful warrior. Hauntedheart smiled softly to herself, silently hoping she'd be lucky enough to have a kit like him. She looked down at her large stomach and let out a sigh. The sooner these kits came, the better.
Her crystal eyes traveled toward the exit to camp and she sighed. Part of her hadn't been expecting to go to the gathering tonight. Things had just felt off between her and Foxstar and Rabbitfoot. Hauntedheart had considered the fact that they actually knew something... something she had wanted to keep a secret. StarClan had made it very clear that she was no longer a "true" medicine cat, so it was possible that they had informed Rabbitfoot as well. But, what if they had told him about Cinderwing, or the kits, or Fadinghorizon? The thought sent chills up her spine. They couldn't know about any of her secrets. The medicine cat narrowed her eyes and sighed. She shook her head and turned to retreat back into her den. She had barely taken a few steps when a sharp pain cut through her stomach. Hauntedheart stopped midstep and let out a gasp. Her eyes widened and she glanced at her stomach. Without a thought, she spun around and walked briskly out of camp, her pace quickening with each step as she tried to ignore the growing pain in her stomach. She needed to get to the outskirts now.
Her kits were coming...]

✖✖✖✖✖✖Rainblast ✖✖✖✖✖✖[Rainblast found himself smiling at the two kits. He hadn't really heard his son laugh like that since.... Well, ever. He smiled and sighed happily, it was nice that Sacredkit had found a friend. The young warrior was jolted out of his thoughts when he felt the fur of his son brush past him. Blinking and looking down, he saw that Sacredkit had almost run right into him.] "Careful there. One of these days, you might run into something that could be painful" [He managed to squeeze out before his son went off to Orchidkit again.]
[Rainblast brought his night-colored eyes up when he saw movement. He flicked his ears in greeting to Hauntedheart. But instead of looking back down to the kits, he just watched his adoptive mother.]
[He jumped up to his paws as Hauntedheart raced out of the camp.] "Momma!" [He called (softly) out automatically. Rainblast forced himself to sit back down. Whatever it was, she could take care of it. Or so he made himself try to believe.] "Starclan watch over her please" [The young father pleaded silently. He loved her so much, and would defend her no matter what. He just hoped that whatever caused her to run out like that, wasn't serious. [Orchidkit squealed as she felt Sacredkit's teeth on her tail, but found herself giggling once again. When Rainblast went by, she gave him her best, cutest smile with her tiny little teeth, then went back to focusing on the task at hand. And that was pinning Sacredkit. Her devious little mind thought of a plan, and she had to suppress her smile and giggles for it to work.]
"OH MAI STARCLAN, LOOK AT DAT GIANT BURD!" Orchidkit said loudly to him, scrambling to her paws and looking at the sky at the imaginary bird.
[She waited patiently to see if Sacredkit would fall for it, and if he did, he was hers.]

[Puresun watched the kittens playing, amusement in her hazel eyes. As soon as Orchidkit yelled about a giant bird, however, a clap of thunder ripped through the sky.
She leapt to her feet, her hair rising. She had smelled the storm coming, but something about it was too ominous. A flash of lightning sped by, too close for her liking. She narrowed her eyes, staring at the sky.
What in StarClan's name...?
As if to answer her question, a waterfall of rain leapt from the clouds, racing towards the ground.
She recognized the movement and leaped for the kittens, standing over them protectively.]
"Lookout!" she shouted.
[The rain hit the ground in an explosion of water, immediately drenching everything in sight. As the rain fell harder, Puresun gritted her teeth. Thank goodness it was not a leaf-fall storm, or else the freezing winds would surely freeze them all with this amount of rain!
The nursery was likely already flooded. It had a simple bramble ceiling that would probably not hold up against all the rain. However, the leader's den was set in a secure hollow inside the Great Tree- she instinctively knew where the kittens should go.]
"Get the kittens to the Great Tree!" she yowled, picking Orchidkit and Sacredkit up in her jaws. "The leader's den will protect them!"
[She sped away towards the tree, climbing up to the den. She slipped a few times but regained her footing in time to not fall. She finally reached the hole and placed the kittens inside, relieved to find that it was dry.]
"You have to stay here," she said over the rain, hazel eyes wide with worry. "Your parents need you to stay here! This is a safe place for you. Please, for StarClan's sake, don't leave this den!
[The hole was a few cat-length's off the ground. The kittens would hurt themselves falling out to begin with, let alone be pummeled or drowned by the rain.
Puresun swerved around and raced for the nursery to grab the other kittens.]
