i've played bass clarinet and clarinet.. i love the bass clarinet so much.. my sister played it and went to china with her college wind symphony. bass clarinet is so amazing! i really love it. i dont march it because our director wont let me but i play it in symphonic band! i absolutly love it!. heart heart heart heart

is playing lower harder? I want to do alto flute but I tried my sisters alto sax and it felt like someone was strangling me the whole time! I am really good at the soprano flute so is alto going to be really hard? want to know before I buy it xp

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to be an over achiever but I play anything low that my director doesn't have.
I play 2 key's of Contra clarinets called Contra-alto and Contrabass.
I can play Bass Clarinet but last time I played it was 8th grade.
For Jazz Band last 2 years I played Tenor Sax or Bari Sax!
I marched with Soprano Clarinet for 3 years and for my senor year I'm trying something way different! I'm marching with my Contrabass... its in paperclip form and very heavy!! And I seriously need a neckstrap with a thick pad!!

I think alto flute would be easier. When I went from clarinet to bass clarinet. I struggled a little, but I practiced enough to where I don't have to think about it anymore. The lower the instrument, the more air required. And really thats it!

I can't remember the brand I play, mostly because I can't read it, but it starts with an L. It's excellent, and only cost around $9,000! You'd better have money, girlie! biggrin The professional ones are upwards of twenty thousand dollars... Which is bad news for me, considering I'm majoring in music performance on bassoon. I've gotta start saving... gonk
