^ Uh, yeah.... They can adopt, but..... Unless they were part of some sort of weird experiment...like Vincent was....er.... But still!
< Riku is Sephiroth's child through JENOVA and Hojo, and some random girl. In other words, I think he was created rather like Sephiroth, with Hojo(or some other weird scientist... ninja ) Taking the cells of Sephy and JENOVA, then planting them in some random lady who then had Riku. Unfortunately, somebody stole him because he was such an adorable baby and whisked him off to Destiny Islands, where he has no idea of his true parentage
