Olli Hufflepuff ; Fifth YearOlli walked into class and quietly set her bag down beside an empty seat, not wanting to interrupt a lesson. Realizing the class was dead silent, she sat down with a loud thud, dropping her books onto the table. She grinned; she hated silence.

 ⒩⒜⒯⒣⒜⒩⒤⒠⒧ ⒲⒜⒭⒟ - ２ｎｄ ｙｅａｒ (The point me spell ? I completely forgot about that one. I guess every young wizard should know it, it's basic survival. Since you can apparate when you're older and won't ever end up lost: I guess the "Point Me" spell should work.)
Nathaniel's gaze went blank. He was thinking. He knew as much as any muggle-born that technology didn't work in Hogwarts. He couldn't imagine his parents sending owls or making things move by themselves. He missed playing around on his gaming consoles and spending time on his computer. Concepts that young wizards and witches didn't understand much. Why sit in front of a screen while you have that much magic around ? Nathaniel thought about the compass option. It ran on magnets, not any electricity. "A compass should work. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Magic doesn't interfere with the poles ! Well, you can always try doing it with your wand." He took out his own out of his robes. Laying it flat on his palm, he stared at it. "Uh, there's a spell that points out north. Can't remember how it'll point me towards it." When he finished talking, the wand slightly turned. "Huh." he simply let out.

 Jumping slightly at the noise, Ammy couldn't help but turn towards it. She knew it wasn't done through anger, but curiosity still wanted to know the source. Seeing Olli's face, she immediately realized it was just for pure fun. A grin grew on her face, and for once in her life she felt as if she had the beginnings of a best friendship. Just hopefully. It didn't occur to her that Olli was quite a bit older than her and therefore much more skilled. All she knew is it was fun to be around her. Turning back to Nathaniel, her face had a little bit of a glow, which seemed infectious.
Watching him bring out his wand carefully, Amelia laughed as the wand moved itself. "I love how our wands know even if we don't remember." Meeting his eyes once more, she managed to look entirely grateful, "That's going to help so much. I keep trying to find shorter paths, but when the stairs switch I get turned around." It was pleasant how easy going most people seemed to be. Almost everyone she'd talked to had helped her some way. In fact, she couldn't wait to do the same thing for herself.

OlliHufflepuff ; Fifth YearRecognizing Ammy, Olli waved vigorously at her. She was contemplating whether or not to bother moving to go sit by her. She looked around and noticed a fellow Hufflepuff sitting near her as well; so she picked up her books and set them down again on a desk nearer Ammy and Nathaniel, dropping them more subtly this time.

Amelia was pleased when Olli came over, shifting to make room for her. Pointing at Nathaniel, then her friend, she introduced the two of them just in case. She didn't know everyone from her house, so it was possible they hadn't met. She didn't even know everyone in her year from her house, though she was pretty sure there was only one other first year girl. She just kept missing her. "Nathaniel's helping us not get as lost with the "point-me spell?" she turned to look at him for confirmation that was what it was called. "It's a compass. So now I'll know what direction at least north will be." She grinned, optimistic about the prospect of being able to explore more.

OlliHufflepuff ; Fifth Year"Oh, that spell really does come in handy when you get lost. The problem is that Hogwarts has so many twisting passages it can be difficult to stay going in the same direction," Olli said, nodding slowly.

There was nothing she could do but nod. "We'll figure it out soon enough. Maybe on the weekends we can wander around more instead of just rushing to classes." That would give her time to find the Headmistress's office and find that map. She'd tell Olli about it later, without Nathaniel, in case he didn't want to get into trouble. She felt as if she knew if she told Olli, even if she refused to participate, she wouldn't tell a teacher of her plan. She didn't know Nathaniel well enough yet. Even though he was the one who mentioned its existence.

Amelia knew she judged well. She could tell Olli's curiosity was spiked, a sure sign she'd recognized aimless wandering wasn't always productive.

She decided to leave the topic as it was though, as she guessed she would eventually either find out herself or Ammy would tell her. She looked at Nathaniel. "So what year are you in?"

⒩⒜⒯⒣⒜⒩⒤⒠⒧ ⒲⒜⒭⒟ - ２ｎｄ ｙｅａｒ Nathaniel just kept listening to the girls. So they knew each other ? He'd already notice Olli and Ammy were in a few other classes with him. He smiled, thinking about the others he'd met. "Huh me ? I'm a second year student. But if there's a place we should wander into; it's definitely Hogsmeade. Maybe we could there together sometime ?"His last raid at the sweets shop left him wanting for more. His stash of candy got low quickly.

Amelia nodded eagerly. "It's so close to here: there has to be some sort of route to there without going through the gate like everyone else does. Something that the house elves or something use." The house elves in general did make her uneasy. It was like slavery. But Slinky, the one she'd met when she first came here seemed perfectly happy to help. She'd asked him questions and he actually laughed at her when she wondered how much he was paid. But still, she knew that a castle this size, even with magic had to have servants to take care of cleaning things, since the students didn't pitch in on that. Her thoughts led her to the possibility of asking the house elves. Which she assumed would be in the kitchen. They seemed to work hard to be hidden from view, considering she hadn't seen any since she first arrived.

OlliHufflepuff ; Fifth Year"Oh, Hogsmeade is the place to be! Just you wait," Olli exclaimed, suddenly very excited by the thought. She had seemed to make friends rather quickly here; a fact that surprised her somewhat, though she of course wouldn't argue it.
[ But do you have to be a third year or can anyone go there? Not sure how the rules about that work in this guild. ]

Amelia looked at the older girl, "Have you been there? I think that's where we tele-apparated, but I didn't get to see much before I was led to the school. Tell me about it." She gave a quick glance to Nathaniel, "What about you? Have you been there?" This prospect was just as exciting as the last. She just knew she'd never run out of spaces to explore and learn here.

OlliHufflepuff ; Fifth YearAt the question, Olli immediately switched into her 'descriptive' mode. "Yes! And it is absolutely amazing. Any kind of candy you could imagine, in all colours of the rainbow. Jokes galore! And don't even get me started on the Shrieking Shack," she said, taking a deep breath once she was finished. She wanted so badly to return!
[ I checked anyway and you're good to go. It probably would've been more fun if you couldn't, but whatever. ]
