Mala soon turned to Van, wanting to ask a random question that had just popped up into her head after being buried away for years. "So, Van, what's being immortal like?"

"Frankly, I'm surprised it took you seven years to ask." Van joked, glancing over at Riley for a moment to see if he was paying attention to their conversation. What with the gods losing their power, he'd been a little worried about Van lately. Thankfully the kid was slightly more interested in cooking, and eager to help out, as was his nature. The last thing Van needed was giving Riley another excuse to gush worriedly over how he was feeling. "Honestly....it's kinda depressing." he said with a sigh and without his usual cool guy smile once he knew he was in the clear. "People, things, and the world itself keeps changing while time just keeps moving on without you...."

Bandora was pacing in her old throne chamber, thinking of how to create havoc. She knew the gods were in danger, and she saw this as her opportunity to take over as a god and bring down her wrath on all of mankind.
Bandora snapped her fingers. "I've got it! I shall use my crystal ball and seek out one of the gods if they are here!" she said as she left the room. "Of course, it would be difficult as to seeing that gods have enormous amounts of power," she said to herself.
She walked the dark corridors of her castle, going to her observatory. She entered the big room and sat at her crystal ball. She moved her hands around the ball as she said some words, trying to seek a god. Through her ball, she saw Van and smiled and laughed. She had found a god, and she knew where he was too.

Mala raised an eyebrow, soon ventured on to give her take on it. "But there's always something amazing to be done, a name to be made, new people to meet. Until our journey seven years ago, I had spent my entire life in Atalus. I envy you, having so much more time to pull impossible feats and not have to worry too much about dying in the process..." she admitted, keeping a soft tone as she spoke so that the others wouldn't hear her. "After all that's happened, I can't help but feel like a helpless child. One wrong move, anywhere at anytime, and my life could end so easilly. Not only that, but I remember well how I couldn't defend myself against Jaquel. To have such power, is that truly depressing versus living a life as just a weak human girl who keeps relying on her friends to get her out of trouble?"

"But you're working to change that aren't you? You don't need immortality to reach a goal like that." Van said returning his chair to all four legs. "Besides, say you could live forever. Once you've made a name and reached your goal and all that, what then? What do you do after all is said and done? You're still gonna keep on living. Finding something to do with myself is almost a chore, had I not decided to stick with you guys. But once you two kick the bucket I'm going to be back at square one wondering 'now what?'"

"There's always more to do, more to improve." Mala said, sighing now. "It's probably nothing, but I've just felt so useless lately. Even if it is silly of me to say, you've got something to treasure with immortality. You'll never run out of stories to tell..." By now, Mala was smiling softly - a depressed look in her eyes as she did so.
