Hello jeannie1313! I'm Professor HarryPotterFreako! Welcome to defense against the dark arts! Don't worry about being late. I understand. *Smiles*
It would be great if you could complete the assignment. It's due October the 20th. It's quite simple. You just have write a short paragraph about a dark creature, any dark creature. It can say how dangerous it is, if it is dangerous, what it eats, where it lives.. anything! Try to find one that hasn't been taken, but it isin't too bad if you do take one that has already been used. I understand. Just write it differently and try to find information the other has left out if you describe the same creature.
What year are you in? It would be really good if you also learn the spell your year has learned.

Don't give up Goddess Calysto, I know you can do a patronus! And Aludra, you want another assignment? I'm not sure.. I don't want everyone to be at different levels.. I want everyone to be done casting their years' spell first. Aludra Yvette... "Thats ok Professor." Aludra sighed. "I'll just practice with the statue more."  Sphinxes are very dangerous creatures, as classified by the Ministry of Magic. They hail from Egypt, and have the head of a human (usually female), and the body of a lion. They are very fond of difficult riddles, and those who cross their paths must answer their riddle or perish. Gringotts is known to use Sphinxes to guard very important items within the bank.

 I'm able to do all the spells for the lower years now Professor, I think I'm going to practice my Paronus more after I'm done with this assignment...

Homework: The Chimera
The Chimera is a highly dangerous beast native to Greece. It has the head of a lion, the body of a goat and a dragon's tail. They are extremely ferocious, and this has earned them a Ministry of Magic Classification of XXXXX, which means that it is a known wizard killer, and impossible to train or domesticate. The eggs of a Chimera are also classified as Class A Non-Tradeable Goods. The chimera is known to breathe fire, in addition to it's other dangers including it's teeth and fangs. There is only one known instance of the successful slaying of a Chimera, and the wizard responsible unfortunately fell off his winged horse to his death minutes later, due to sheer exhaustion.

Well, first of all Zella, what year are you in? Some years learn different subjects and spells.

And CloudedInsanity, you can practice the patronus charm but you may not face the dementor if you are not a fifth year.

Smiles at her lipstick stained homework and hands it to the professor, "I'm new, so this is all I did." She lowers her voice and mutters to herself, "And plan on doing." She clears her throat and speaks up again, "I'm kinda lost. What are we learning?"

A manticore is considered one of wizarding world's most dangerous creatures. It is a beast capable of intelligent speech, but isn't classified as a being due to its violent tendencies. A manticore has a human-like head, a lion body, and a scorpion's tail with a stinger. This creature is hard to subdue due to its skin repelling all known charms. They originated in Greece and are just as rare as the Chimera. The sting of the Manticore causes instant death and is known to sing softly to its victims as it devours them. Hagrid somehow managed to breed them with Fire crabs creating the hybrid Blasted-Ended Skrewts. ((OOC: Text, I think you can choose whatever year you want, but you should ask Sing just to make sure.))

*nothing happens. Text decides to try again, this time focusing more intently on her happy thought*

*this time, a very, VERY slight hint of silver comes out of the tip of her wand. Already exhausted, Text sits down and tries to figure out if her thought is happy enough*
