Appearance: He is bone thin, almost anorexic looking, and with a paleness that is just plain unhealthy. He is an insomniac, waking from nightmares he can't remember, and thus dark circles continuously ring his eyes.

Personality: There is only one word that describes Jack properly: Odd. He speaks in riddles, in rhymes too horrible for most to bear. He likes to test people, finding out who and what they really are, though his main purpose is to force THEM to see who they really are, force them to face their demons within. He paints horrific images that seem to drag the eye to them, a truth hidden within so far that not even Jack can see to their heart. While not quiet, neither is he talkative, and above all he fears nothing. Its not that he's a cold hearted kid, oh no. Its just that nothing he experiences will ever be as horrifying as the images in his own head. Always, no matter what, there is a smile on his lips.

◤ History

Jack's history is as shrouded in shadow as his own mind, the little of which he remembers brought out only in flashes of nightmares and dreams. But what is of importance is what Jack can remember, what he was told about the day he arrived at the Mist village.

The guards were on duty, as they always were, when from the mists came screams and cries of the dead, dying, and damned. It shocked and horrified the shinobi as from the mist stepped a figure wreathed in shadow and carrying a grim scythe. From the hood of its robe that seemed sewn from the fabric of the deepest night was revealed twin fires for eyes, as green and black as the unholy fires of hell. It was death incarnate, the Grim Reaper himself, as the Shinobi thought, and yet to their surprise it wasn't there to reap their souls, oh no. In its arms was a bundle of black cloth, and silently it held out the bundle to the two. Too terrified to do anything other than obey, the captain of the squad reached forth and bravely took the bundle. It was large, requiring two hands to hold without struggle, yet light enough to have been held in one hand had the size not been so awkward. The Reaper slowly faded into the mists, and the cries dwindled to nothing. Slowly, the Captain set the bundle on the stone at his feet, and pulled back the flap at the top to reveal a shock. There, in the bundle, was a pale child of ten years of age, a cane and tophat in his hands, too big for a child of his size to have. And there, written across the fabric above his head, was a name.

Jack Harren Snipe.

From that day the village knew he was an oddity, and as he grew, so did the fear of him. That he was neither normal nor possibly human. As he grew, Jack became well known for his "testing" of people, setting up odds and ends and creating all manner of trapped settings to test others. He seemed to study their reactions, always a small smile upon his lips, as if he knew this others did not. And when he spoke, no one could understand his mad rhymes, so terrible that true poetry artists cringed when he even started to open his mouth. When he entered the academy, as he was asked to do by the Mizukage, the tricks continued, becoming more powerful and demented as he learned Genjutsu. But no one could stop him legally, for his "tests" never harmed anyone, nor had any lasting harm other than his victims avoiding him. Because of this, today Jack lives on the edge of the village, on a small island in the middle of the ocean. He is checked on, of course, but now his life was one of solitude, spent devising more Genjutsu, ones that others had never seen, nor dared to try.
