Alot of the plotwork is based on poy's suggestion of the castle with the rooms that are locked away. The issue has been deciding if we will open all room's at once or if they will open throught the first day seperatley (as not everyone can be online for the start of the ball). This could be an issue, as room plots would need to start for themselves. Currently that is the largest problem with the plot.
Our other option would be we could do a pre setting of all the room's opening but it may take away from the overall effect of the plot.
Another issue that I am experiancing again this year, is finding a manga artist
Im working on developing a menga format for the plot.

This is the first e-mail I had sent to Angel. We are still adressing many key issues in the plot.
Since this was written, I have developed the plot on how the last room opens, and what chaos occures.
It is an epic battle where sides are forced to be taken. I will have more on that if the plot is approved by angel and when we have worked out the kinks
here is the main idea of the plot. I still need to do written work for the manga, but this is the general idea/timeline. Please let me know what you think ^^
A special thanks to poy for the main idea:
Introduction Manga
Long ago, in the ancient past of Gaia, there were 14 demi-gods that played games with each other. Pride, Humility, Envy, Love, Wrath, Kindness, Sloth, Zeal, Greed, Generocity, Gluttony, Temperence, Lust, and Chastity. While other demi-gods got to play with their powers, and affect the earth. These 14 were banned from doing so, as their powers left unchecked could destroy the world as we know it. Each one balanced the power of another one, although at this time they did not know know who balanced whom, and so they were always together, for the greater good of the world, despite what they themselves wanted to do.
Story Manga #2
One day long ago, another being came across these 14 and saw the power each one held deep inside them. This being knew that he could use these demi-gods to change the world into whatever he wanted, a place ruled by sin he thought. But for that he would only need 7, yes the 7 deadly sins. Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust. But there was a problem with his plan, he knew the other 7, the virtues, could be just as evil and destructive, not only that, but the 14 demi-gods were as one huge family, they all loved one another way too much for his plan to work.
and so he bagan to plot...
For many years the being we would come to know as Sin plotted in darkness. He hated his brother Virtue and could not figure out why the virtues and sins did not hate eachother just as much. Somehow, he wanted to win, badly. Some say it was it his pride that wanted Virtue gone, but whatever it was, he couldn't stand there being someone who could equal his powers over this world.
Many years past, and no one knows how he did it, but Sin used his powers to turn the 7 Sins against the 7 Virtues, and a great war began between Sin and his brother Virtue.
After a great many years, unknown to the Sins or to the Virtues, the people of this world built a great tower, a tower with 9 rooms. The first floor held a sealed door to the other 8, each room built for one Sin and one Virtue, with the top room of the tower meant for siblings Sin & Virtue. Somehow, through a means lost in time's wake, the people of that world trapped the 14 demi-gods, and the siblings into this tower, never to come out again. For the only way the rooms could open, is if the Sin and Virtue of that room worked together. thousands of years past.....
One day someone stumbled upon the tower, and remembered the legend long forgotten. She thought to herself, "What if I could steal the powers of the 14 demi-gods and make it my own? Shirley then I can bring balance to this world once and for all!". As she pondered for a great while, until an idea hit her. What if the decedents of those whom imprisoned these beings, could open the doores which their ancestors sealed long ago? If so, how could she lure them back here to open the tower up for her...
A cold breeze blew past her, as something whispered in her ear....
"Why that is simple my dear...take over the 9th Annual Ball, and have it take place within the tower itself. If you do this some decedent or another is bound to open up the seal on the first floor of the tower...and then what fun we shall have...."
This is the exit of the first two manga. From here, we will cut to the opening of the ball. Annual Ball will be running a room called "Balance". It will be the only room open at the beginning of the ball. Gaian's will gather for the party, in a circular room with 8 doos which they cannot enter. People will be curious as to why they cannot enter, but Annual Ball reassures them that everything is fine
One of the decendents of the one who sealed Pride's room will do something to open the room. I will leave it up to the individuial room's to decide what this action is. After this happens, the ghost of the ancestor who first sealed the room will appear as a ghost and utter a warning in a riddle. Guests will need to collect all of the 7 riddles to know of the horror that is to come when the tower is finally opened
Along with each room opening, there will also be a short introduction of what the sins are doing in their enclosed room at the time, and how they react to their room being opened. I will also leave this to the individuial rooms, as they can attune it to their own plot in their room
* Day #1 The room’s will open at different times during the day. I have not set exact times, however and the list of room’s may change depending on availability for that day. I was thinking each room could open within 1-2 hours of each other. This would leave room for support , as well as we would not need to worry about inactivity if the ball starts on a Friday and people cannot be on for work/school.
• As for the room set up- we will need to have general names for the different rooms in the towers and a common front post (as we cannot edit it). All content would be placed in the thread upon it’s opening to discourage posting. • This will be a good idea as well, because all room’s will have extra support upon their opening as most of the public will swarm to that thread as it opens. This will give others a break and allow for more help in the threads.
Main Commons: Balance (where all the ball goers will first gather- Run by annual Ball Mule. This room will be open right as the ball starts) First Floor: Pride, Humility Second Floor: , Envy, Love Third Floor: Wrath, Kindness Fourth Floor: Sloth, Zeal Fifth Floor: Greed, Generocity Sixth Floor: Gluttony, Temperence Seventh Floor: , Lust, and Chastity Eighth Floor: Sin and Virtue (This will not open until the middle of the ball. When it is opened, chaos will break lose and destruction will ensure)
• Day # 2 People are now speculating of why the last room has not opened. Why has it not happened? Suspense is building.
•This is the day that we will release a mini plot about all of the people and room’s suspicions of why the last room has not been opened.
• We will also release a special manga about the girl who is taken over the ball and her frustration on the last room not being opened.
• Day #3 Something dramatic happens and the tower opens, the ball will fall into chaos. Every room’s NPC’s will be causing destruction and havoc
• Day #4 This is the end of the ball. This is the day where the plot will end. Gaians and the sins/virtues will work together to stop the chaos and lock annual ball away for trying to steal their powers. The sins/virtues will realise that they need each other to balance out power and give op their single lives to become one powerful being.

I don't really like that rooms are being opened at separate times, because it kind of feels unfair especially for the rooms that are opening later. Chances are like with wrath (i live on the east coast, and the mods like opening the event late in the day as is.) One reason is because that still leaves like the whole first day gone for any host that lives on the east coast of america and definitely leaves out any host from Europe (if there are any, I believe there is one in England) By the time like the lust a chastity room is open (with how slow Gaia always is, it will be somewhere like 11 pm Est first day chances are, if not later. Trust me I had to get my room unlocked in previous years because they forgot mine and it took them a long time to even respond. I say that it would be best to open all the rooms at once, and let the guests choose where they go to anyways, as many guests actually decide to just stay in the room they posted in first instead of going to them all.
That is just my thoughts. Again, not trying to sound rude, but I don't want to have anyone left out of first day just because their room opened late in their time zone. I know what you are thinking but that idea will most likely not work, I have been in a ball where a few rooms opened later than others even by a few hours, and the rooms that opened late actually really only had 6-7 people actually post in the thread. (yes that happened to the Wild west room my first year. It was fun but felt like no one else cared except for the 7 in the room minus the co-hosts and host.)

That is why we are working on an alternative to the room's opening seperate- Honestly that's what is taking so long.
What the initial plan was was not to have them locked, but to leave the posts blank (with some art piece of a locked door and events happening outside the door) to be edited, so people could still post in the thread. That way, people could still wonder what was going on and post in the thread
Any ideas or thoughts would be helpful
Also, as previously stated, the list was just a general list of when the rooms, i figured if people had a hard time comming on at the start of the ball it would be easier for them if their room opened later

I say what we could do is what we do most years and have the rooms open when you open the ball after the ceremony, but you can run like a scavenger hunt through the rooms to get activity going but have the hunt go through each floor in order at certain times. The scavenger hunt is to find like certain answers to riddles in each of the rooms. As the answers come in correct for each room, that is when the sins and virtues will realize that the seal for the room has been broken, When they find that out the sins of the rooms can start becoming deceptive to the guests making their plan to escape, while the virtues are trying to be good and stay with the guests trying to keep entertainment going. When chaos though is let loose that is when the Sins decide to make their move and vanish/escape and that is where the plot in my head goes tricky. The trick part is how do the sins get back or virtues find the sins for the ending of the plot to get peace.

I agree with Epcot about the rooms opening at different times being problematic. An alternative that I thought of would be to open every room at the same time, but each sin would do something in his or her respective room at a set time on the first day that would trigger something big with the main plot. For example, when all of the rooms first open, the sins and virtues could be cool with each other. But, then the powerful overlord, Sin, starts empowering the 7 deadly sins, and shifting the balance. Then, one by one, the rooms are thrown into chaos. At the very top or bottom of the tower, the room of Sin and Virtue is locked, and no one can get into it to try to find Virtue to help put everything back in balance. Then, that last room will unlock on the second day. And in the order that the rooms were thrown into chaos, Virtue will whisk herself into each room, post a time or two, and do something that will lead the people in each room to restore order. What do you think?
One more thing: I think you meant, "Surely," when you started a sentence around the middle. You wrote, "Shirley," instead. It made me think of that line from Airplane. blaugh

Well, you mentioned a riddle. What if opening one room opens them all and makes the parts of the riddle slowly appear on the doors as the event goes on?

Another thing you have to consider. I remember last year that the Gaian staff was late putting out topic in the forums, and even then it took a while to get power to our own moderators. Having them open and close new rooms every 1 - 2 hours for 7-14 hours would just be a hassle for them.

They can all open at once. Just PM the person (or mule) when to put up their part of the riddle.

First of all, super awesome wonderful thanks to you, Bliss, and Angel, for working hard on the plot. I'm sure we're all glad it's finally out...or the basics of it, at least. xD
Like most everyone else here, I'm mainly worried about the opening times being different for each room. But I like Jacklyn's idea, as well! Much easier. =D
And Mousse brings up a good point; we probably shouldn't depend on the mods too much.

I think maybe trying to use both Chibi's and Jacklyn's idea would work out well. Then it would be like the riddle somehow irritates the sin/makes the sin angry and that is what throws everything into chaos. The riddle could create some sort of misunderstanding and that would be why collecting all the parts can make it okay again. (If that's even possible) (Using the riddle alone would also be great, though ^^)
