Despite the awkwardness, it was at least physically comfortable. The extra body heat made it a little warmer, which was always a good thing in his book.
"I mean.. did he hurt you?" he clarified. It was still rather vague, but he didn't really know all the sorts of things Suto could do. In his case, he got stabbed with various needles and scalpels and got sent to the morgue. Most likely the guy was capable of doing more than just what he personally experienced.

"No, not really..." Riyo responded vaguely. Save the bracelets and the sedative needle, he really hadn't hurt her at all. Yeah, he'd made her question the health of her friends, but he'd never told her they were dead outright... She'd sorta jumped to that conclusion herself.
"I suppose I got out lucky..." Considering what Blade had gone through, it was hard to realize the same man had done it.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Blade was glad that she had been unharmed. The less of them that had to go through that sort of thing, the better he believed.
"Yeah. Very lucky..." he replied before quietly whispering to himself, "It still makes me kinda sick to think of all the things he probably did to Mitsu..."
No doubt that girl had gone through worse than he did, especially since she had seemingly spent most of her life there. Now he had to wonder if she physically was always the way she is right now too. Frowning, he shook his head to himself and nestled down, to try and snag a little more warmth.

Suto had said they were a lot alike...
Riyo had thought for a split second about asking Blade just what Suto had done to meek little Mitsu. What horrors had he brought upon that girl's life to make everybody shake their head in disgust just thinking about it?
But... Perhaps she was better off not knowing.
She couldn't imagine herself wrecking a person like Mitsu's life... But she also couldn't rule out the idea of doing it to someone she thought deserved it.
"How are we gonna find the others again?" She attempted to change the subject.

To be honest, Blade wasn't completely certain of the answer. Closing his eyes, he thought on what they should do exactly, and what he came up with certainly was not an easy feat.
"We'll need to find a town first. I'll see if I can find any information on the group from there... It might seem like a long shot, but the underworld usually has a wealth of information... I doubt the towns around here would be so clean to not have some individuals that are a part of it."
He had little to no money at the moment, so he'd also need to gather up some funds before attempting to get such information. It never did come free.
"My guess is that they're still somewhere on the eastern half of Nao..." he mused, wondering if they attempted to follow Shun at all or if they had given up on the idea of rescue. Poke had been up here once before, but he still wasn't so certain how willing the others would be to come; he had made the promise but as far as he knew, no one else had.

Riyo's ears folded down at the answer he gave. "S-so... You don't think they'll try to come after us?"
Really she should've been happy about it. They weren't in harm's way. It was a good thing... So why did she feel so disappointed? Honestly, she hadn't expected Atticus to jump through hoops for her, but the way everyone else acted, she figured they'd be up here in a heartbeat...
Disappointment was apparent in her face, though she said nothing about it. "Oh." Was the only thing she could muster.

Noticing the look in Riyo's face, Blade's eyes softened as he let out a sigh, "It's really hard to say. I would like to think they would come, but we'd still have to find one another. The rest of the group and us could be wandering circles around one another for days potentially.."
She wasn't the only one feeling a little dampened by the possibility that no one would come. But this was the area they had all been running for all this time. And people could be unpredictable sometimes...
"If we find a town first, we should be able to find out for sure if they're looking for us," he offered with a weak smile.

"I-if we don't find them..." Riyo began, looking down at the floor. "We're gonna stay together... Right?"
She looked up at him with big 'kitty cat' eyes, a cute little frown on her face. If he was going to force her out to the land of the living, he was gonna be stuck with her for a long time.

Riyo definitely didn't need to give him such a sad and cute expression. But if he did have the intention of saying no, that look would probably have changed his mind anyway. With a soft, though weak, smile, he nodded lightly.
"Of course.. I wouldn't just abandon you, especially after going through that hell," he explained before pausing and realizing something, "By the way... thank you. I.. probably would be dead right now if it weren't for you."
In the back of his mind, he was glad he managed to get her to come along. There was no way he would have been able to survive out there on his own. Even if he were healthier, he probably would have little chance out in a place like this.
Slowly, his core body temperature was returning to normal, which was a few degrees higher than the average human.

This time, Blade's words managed to crack a smile on her lips. "I knew you'd do the same for me." It was a cliche response to most grateful-esque comments, but it was also the truest. Abandoning him in his time of need would've been considered unforgivable by at least half of her.
She let out a soft yawn as half of her head slipped under the blanket. "Did you ever love anyone, Blade?" It would probably be a question she asked a lot of people from now on, since the scientist had filled her mind with new questions that she felt were important to ask.

The smile faded somewhat at her seemingly random question. He wasn't quite certain what brought it up, and he was now wondering if she was questioning whether she loved someone herself. Maybe it was Neko? Or possibly Yuki? The thief wasn't very good at gauging these things. She could just be curious too for all he knew.
"No... not in a romantic sense at least," he replied after a short silence, "But.. I did love my parents... if that counts.."
As he thought about it, the way he felt towards the group in general might be considered some form of weaker love or possibly on a similar level to that of familial. He wasn't sure though as he hadn't exactly thought of it before.

The minotaur wasn't sure what to do when the two ran outside. He hadn't been able to catch up to them, the stairs had slowed him down considerable. Maybe Suto would know? Making his way to the lower levels he finally found Suto and another tech outside the morgue. It was sad to know they had a place like this, but he supposed death happened from time to time and you would need somewhere to store the body.
"Sir?"
Suto turned from his conversation with the tech to look at the minotaur. "Ah, yes. Tim was it?"
"Yes Sir."
"So how is the girl doing? Does she like her new room?"
"Well, about that." Tim started off. "There was another tech. Or at least I thought he was a tech. We were heading to the girl's room when he ran off with her. They got out by the east wing. The alarms are still going off now."
"I see," Suto nodded. "So they escaped." He didn't seem surprised in the least which confused the minotaur. Turning to the tech at his side he thought of what to do. "Gather a team, go look for them. I doubt they got far. The weather really isn't in their favor."
"Should I help them search?" Tim asked.
"No," Suto said with a slight smile on his face. "The little boy in your care is in need of company. He's been throwing fits today. Run along and take care of him, we'll handle the girl and her friend."
Tim only nodded before he disappeared. Once he was gone Suto turned back to the tech. "I want the girl back at any cost. If you must, kill the boy."
The tech simply nodded before he ran off to gather some people to go with him. He would have to mention it was Suto's order, otherwise it would be difficult to get people to go. They would have to prepare with weapons and the like. Who knew what kind of struggle they would run into.

"Ah. I see." A very non-committal response to such a sensitive subject.
Riyo didn't even know the joys of parental love. It was obvious why she didn't particularly love her mother, but her father...
That man... He had run away from his responsibilities. He had left her mother with an unbearable burden, and after all of that, she still 'loved' him.
Now he had the balls to think she wanted anything to do with him. It disgusted her. "Do you think it's wrong to hate one's parents?"

Raising an eyebrow, Blade had to think on that question shortly before having a response.
"No I don't. I've seen some messed up things that a parent has done to their child..." he said, "I don't think the child would be wrong to despise their parents in these cases... Love.. should be something that's more or less mutual."
It was true. As he traveled about, he had seen some people abusing or horribly neglecting their kid. It was not a very nice sight to see.

"What do people do when they're in love?"
As what little sun that graced the barren wasteland faded off into the distance and the even colder night fell, Riyo was too busy sleeping to notice. If she'd been awake, she probably would've contemplated whether asking so many questions to touchy (No pun intended) subjects was such a great idea, though It had certainly worked out in her favor this time. Well... That really depended on who you asked. Had she lost part of herself, or gained a new part? Both? Was it innocence she lost or simply ignorance? In the end, was there a difference?
Her dreams weren't sure.
She'd 'woken up' in a soft bed in a room she'd never been in before with her normal clothes on. For a moment, she just sat there, waiting for the surprise. But when none came, her eyebrow raised. "What?" She called out, taunting her mind. "No memories of the people I killed or visions of me killing my friends?" There was no answer. Not even an echo. Everything was so quiet... Sort of unsettling in one's own mind. "Huh." With a shrug, she stood up, brushed herself off, and walked out of the room into a hallway with many doors. "... Anybody home?"
"Downstairs." A familiar voice called, though she couldn't quite place it. Finding the stairway, Riyo took her time descending the steps and looked around. The stairway led into a cozy den, but that wasn't where the voice had come from. "Over here." To the right.
Making a turn into the next room, she found that it led into a dining room, and two familiar people sat at the table. The demon and the child.
"Oh goddamnit, not you two again."
"Why don't you have a seat over here?" The demon asked with an imperative tone and ushered her to the head of the table, while the two of them sat on her opposite sides. With an eye roll, Riyo complied. It was still better than the usual, she supposed. "Now what?"
"Oh, you know what." The demon spoke without hesitation, her dark fingers interlocking on the table. "We saw what you did."
"C-c-cannot unsee." The child stuttered. She sort of looked like a fish with her wide eyes and gaping mouth. It was funny in a pathetic sort of way.
"Look at her." The demon nodded her head in the way of her opposing force. "How am I supposed to deal with that? Huh? I mean, it's funny at first but now she's starting to creep even me out."
Riyo sort of scoffed at the both of them. "So what? I can't take anything that's already been done back. I mean, if I could the two of you probably wouldn't exist."
"Not really suggesting that. You know me, I'm all for giving into animal instincts, but uh... How are you going to deal with this?"
"I wasn't aware there was a problem..."
The demon stood up for a second, turning around and walking over to the sink. There sat a pitcher, which she used to pour herself a glass of water. "Alright. So what is he to you?"
"H-he's my friend..."
"Yeah yeah yeah. So you gonna do that with ALL your friends?"
"Well... I-"
"Don't answer that." The demon sat back down, kicking her legs up on the table and leaning back in her chair. "My point is that you're getting too close to people. What if you woke up and Blade was dead, huh?"
Riyo... Hadn't thought of it that way. "I..." She couldn't finish whatever she was about to say, but they already knew what she was thinking anyways.
"Yeah. I thought so. You know none of this is going to last, and I'd say enjoy it while it does, but that just makes it harder to let go. Think about that next time you wanna do something that's going to literally ******** you up." With all that said, the demon drank the glass of water and slammed it in front of Riyo, making her jump a little. "See you later." Then both of them just... Disappeared. Leaving her alone in the house.
"... s**t." She sighed out and slammed her head on the table.
