blonde lite jaimelechateauxgonflables I'd like to join team orange! Welcome to the team smile Your added smile Perhaps you can tell me what your name means? My name's actually some grammatically incorrect French. It's meant to be "J'aime les chateaux gonflables"...which is french for I like jumping castles [not literally, that's the best English translation]. My sister and I were trying to incorporate that into as many conversations as we could, and I decided to put it as my username...it ended up sticking. This is such a fantastic idea, btw. I'm very much pro-awareness when it comes to medical ailments; and studying hematology at university as part of my degree programme has given me a greater awareness of blood disorders, such as leukemia. I saw a blood-film of someone with chronic myeloid leukemia the other week, and it was amazingly sad to look at sad

I understood the bit about I love the houses... but for the life of me couldnt work out gonflables xp Interesting convos you and your sis must have lol. Yeah, the idea for TDM comes from Blaizekit, she's the mastermind behind this whole thing. I'm very glad she's here in gaia smile I've never seen the actual cancer cells, except what they show on shows like House. Are you going into oncology?

In the past, tektek always froze up or locked out when gaia brought out alot of stuff at once. I'm guessing now that gaia is awash with new stuff from cash shop, tektek is having a hard time keeping up. About the eggs, well, for me anyway, only the first two are good anyway, I dun like the gambino egg, makes you look like a corpse. So its either only 50 eggs, or only two purchases, not too bad.

I'm very glad she's here in gaia smile I've never seen the actual cancer cells, except what they show on shows like House. Are you going into oncology? I think the "gonflables" bit is to do with "inflatable"...I think. It's been a while since that conversation, and neither my sister or myself can remember :p It's always the random bits that stick though. The thing about leukemia is that in the blood-films you aren't actually going to see "cancer cells" per se. What you see is the really immature white-blood cells, which is indicative of a major problem. These cells are made in the bone marrow, and usually the bone marrow acts kinda like a filter, only letting mature cells into the blood stream. When there is a problem with the bone marrow, like cancer, you'll see a LOT of immature cells in the blood, which signals big alarm bells. Even one immature cell can be cause for a diagnosis of leukemia...and in the blood-film of chronic myeloid leukemia I saw the other day, there were almost more white-blood cells than red-blood cells! I don't think I'm going to go into oncology. At the moment, my passions lie in hematology [the study of blood and blood-disorders] and microbiology [especially parasites]...that said, my entire degree is fascinating, and I never know where I'm going to end up.

Ah well, no wonder I dont remember seeing cancer cells having to do with leukemia lol. I did read up on leukemia, cause my father died of it, but I guess I didnt quite get the straight of it. And yes, it does sound like you've found a facinating area of medicine to go into ^^ Parasites.. simultaneously facinating and ...icky. lol.

I'm sorry to hear your father passed away from leukemia sad Mmm, up until I started studying hematology, I had my heart set on becoming an amazing parasitologist...the more that I learn about blood though, the more I want to do hematology and the less I want to play with parasites, lol. For me though, just about all of it is fascinating...it just amazes me how complex and intricate the human body is; and as much as it's sad and humbling, learning about disease processes is fascinating too.

I understand where your coming from, I feel the same about psychology.. abnormal psych. I find where things go wrong, and where things go inexplicably right incredibly engrossing. But I ended up being more drawn to social work at the end of it, dealing with the fall out from the issues involved. Weird but true ^^
