Koko looked at Zed for a while, then shrugged & sat down in her seat.
"Oh well, if no-one is supposed to know about it then I won't tell. I don't think I want to know particularly; if it's that bad that no-one else should know, then why should I?"
She smiled before swivelling to face the turret controls,
"There is one thing I want to know though.... we can never... go back, can we?"

"Well, if we went back we'd only ruin it like last time... So no."
He sat back in his chair and sighed deeply.
"However, going and having a look wouldn't hurt... but prolonged use of the jump drive's top speeds will inevitably cause it to fail... and we all know what happens then... Anyway, lets get outta here, we'd better... Wait, I gotta take a shower... and fix the washing machine."
Zed got back up and wandered into the crew quarters.

Koko rolled her eyes as Zed left, sighing & standing up.
I think I'd better do it, the thing might explode otherwise.
With that she sprinted through the ship, eventually managing to find the washing machine.
"Ah here we go, now what's wrong with this thing?"
Dragging out the appliance & turning it round, Koko began looking at the back, trying to figure out what might be wrong with it. She sat back & brushed her hair out of her face,
"I wonder if I should ask Zed what's wrong with it...? Hmmm.... nah."
Fishing into her pockets Koko drew out a screwdriver & used it to remove the back of the washing machine, peering into the back. She immediately spotted the problem,
Damn, the belt's snapped....
Sighing a bit, she got back to her feet & headed for the cargo bay, to see if she could find a replacement rubber belt. If not, she'd have to head out & find one in the city or elsewhere.

After his shower zed, dressed in trousers and his poncho, decided to stand and watch the washing machine. It was being less interesting than usual so he wandered to where Koko was in the cargo bay.
"Whatcha lookin' for?"

Koko was digging around in a small pile of random items, her back to Zed.
"I'm looking for a new belt for the washing machine! When I find it you'd better put your stuff in the wash!"
She dug deeper into the stuff, before emerging with a rubber belt in hand.
"Ah hah!"
Turning around, Koko strode past Zed, back towards the washing machine. She lay down, reaching round the machine she took the broken belt off & threw it behind her, then set about attaching the new one. After a few more minutes she reattached the back & stood up, sliding the appliance back into place.
"There, fixed. I hope you're grateful."

Zed chucked his other set of clothes into the washing machine.
"thanks Koko"
He did a spin in his poncho and ran to the cockpit where he sat down in his chair.
"Riiight, while that washes we'll go back to the city or something... but we'll go the long way around... it's more fun."

Koko sighed heavily & slowly followed Zed back to the cockpit.
Why do I even bother...?
She then sat down in her seat, swivelling to face the controls. Then she realised what Zed had said.
"Wait, the long way round? Should I be asking just how long?"

Zed grinned.
"Well, this ship can go faster than light... Well, not in air, but... Just look at this."
He pointed at the lowest end of the speed guage, the sound barrier was labeled right near the bottom, along with mach 2 and 3, Zed pointed to mach 3.
"The top speed you've been at is about here. Mach 3- three times the speed of sound, this guage is only for medium to low speeds... Theoretically, this ship can reach around 10,000 to 100,000 times the speed of light... That, my friend, is a s**t-ton of speed... We'll circle the planet in an hour, faster if we were in orbit, due to lack of air resistance."

Koko's eyes widened slightly & she leant back in her chair, putting her hands on her head & exhaling.
"Jeez.... that's crazy Zed...."
She looked over at him & smirked,
"But it sure sounds like a hell of fun!"
Grabbing her helmet, she slipped it over her head & spun once in the chair. Looking back over at the pilot, still grinning, the young mercenary felt excited about what might lie ahead.

Zed put his helmet back on and grinned.
"Here we go!"
He hit the accellerator and was forced to the back of his seat. The Aiolos reached immence speed effortlessly. The planet below becoming a blur of sand, rocks and small seas. The ship reached a safe cruising speed.
"You can get outta the seat now if you want"

Koko leant forward slowly, having been pushed back into her seat. She shook her head a little, ruffling her hair,
"Woah...."
Turning her head to look at Zed, a mischevious thought came to her head, she grinned a little & removed her helmet again, standing up. Looking over herself, she saw the stains of oil & other fluids, dirt, sand etc & frowned.
"Hey.... you had a shower & I'm the one who's been working! So now I think I deserve one.... I'll probably have to put my clothes in the wash too & I don't have a dressing gown or anything.... hmmm...."
She came closer to Zed, then spun his chair round so he was facing her.
"I guess that'll have to do!"
Quick as a flash, she dragged the pilot to his feet & stole his poncho, then stepped back & winked before running off towards the shower room - leaving him there to wonder what had just happened.

Zed stood there for a moment before sitting back down and turing to face the window as if nothing had happened. He took a hold of the controls and flew closer to the ground through an area of huge rock mesas.

For a while Koko was away in the shower, when she came out she went to the washing machine - which had finished with Zed's clothes - & placed her dirty clothes inside. Then she went along to the cockpit, dressed only in Zed's poncho & tossed his wet clothes at him.
"Hey! You put these somewhere to dry."

Zed raised the ship to a safer altitude and left his seat, heading to the crews quarters to hang his clothes up, he passed Koko.
"Heeey! thats my poncho!"
He stood and blinked at her then walked on.

Koko looked rather confused for a second,
For all that fuss & he didn't even try to take it back? Jeez, that was odd.
She rolled her eyes then went to sit down at the turret controls, slipping the helmet on & lazily swinging the turrets from side to side, scanning the area. She crossed her bare legs, feeling a little exposed without all her clothing.
