Ink was already smearing across paper at the Paladin's urging, the wide swaths of black cloth circling around Renu like some sort of silken snake.
She was certain now that he attacked her, judging by the electricity about his form...but maybe, something human still remained in the shell.

Ah, but the mage wolf was too quick, already at work in a different kind of binding, and Scribbler couldn't help but admire the efficiency of the spell.

Renu's body reacted violently to the flame, the power inside of it disregarding the fact that its shell was still human. When ink began to wrap around the body, the Tesla coil flared and began to pulse through the ink raging to break free. A sickening snarl and a language incomprehensible roared out from Renu's mouth. The Necklace flared and tried to cut away the ink with it's own dark energy, and was even so bold to attempt to bite at the wolf.

This is an odd reversal, isn't it? I should be attempting to bite you.

His mental tone was light, as if he were making small talk, a rather odd contrast to binding he continued to lay down even as he leaped off Renu's body and landed a few feet away.

Farskon watched nervously, hoping Hrothbert could fix up this problem.

"Remember what happened last time...the ink lit on fire with electricity."
The black ribbons shifted in an attempt to hold down Renu, trying to aid in Hrothbert's efforts by keeping the physical form still.

Somewhere in the background the werewolf paced waiting for an opportunity to be of assistance, but on edge because of her extra senses.

A voice erupted into laughter all around.

"Now now, leave my subordinate alone!"

The forest darkened, and all traces of the encampment were gone.
There were wards up everywhere.

Renu was taken along with the encampment. He was gone.

((Closing the encampment for tonight guys, I gotta make preparations for part 3 anyway xd ))

A string of curses followed, most in Old English but some in more common tongues. The wolf snarled as Renu vanished from within the binding, and he released the now-useless spell.

The Gatewatcher stand's ready. It is a thin yet extremely tall stone golem. It's movements look almost human, and it has the ability to speak.

By it is a Order of Merging banner. One might think that you could go around him, but there are wards all around. Meaning this is the only way in.

An inky figure silently threw off her disguise within the branches of a nearby tree; she had been waiting for the encampment's return, but stunned by the sudden change.
A bottleneck, if there ever was one, created by the single golem guarding the village's gates...and if he fell, there would likely be others.

What to do...

The Paladin sidled across a tree looking out at the guardian. He gave a signal to Scribbler. He reached out a message to her; hopefully she would allow him entry into her mind.

Scribbler felt the small tickling sensation near her brow and noticed Farskon nearby, signalling at her. She nodded, reaching out with her own mind.

Go on, it's fine, she mouthed silently, hoping he could read lips.

Farskon was relieved this was another form of the magic they now both practiced. He had never the opportunity to use it this way.

"Feathers, we need to draw him away from the gate; send a projectile, and get him to a more remote location. We'll fight him there."

The Paladin hoped the message got across. In some ways he was also a novice at the magic; having no teacher to guide him on how it worked in it's best way.

Draw...gate, send...remote...fight.

Well, enough of it got across to make sense, anyway. She drew her sketchbook, and out came a small inky squirrel, scampering down the tree to scold at the golem and exasperate it.

Hopefully it would be able to draw the guardian away from its post before it was crushed to inky bits.

The Gatewatcher was unamused; and stomped it under foot. Farskon shrugged at her, and decided to do something more rash.

The Paladins scooped up a rock, and threw it at it.

"Thisssss cccccity bbbbbelongs tttttto Ttttthe Ooorder ooooonly mmmembers mmmay eeeenter," The Gatewatcher hissed, and began ramming it's way forward.

"Uuuuh maybe that wasn't the best idea" Farskon thought to Scribbler.
