"Your friend put two and two together to figure it out. Then when she asked about it you ran off, you haven't changed Mikage." Orin's father said with a laugh. He stood up when Mikage asked what he meant by Orin fighting for his memory. "Come with me?" Orin's father said then he led Mikage into the wooded area behind the park.
"We'll have to erase his memory. Too many people know our existence could get out." said a fairy as Orin's father and Mikage came upon a clearing.
"No, please I trust Mikage he won't tell anyone and if you wipe his memory of it he won't believe anymore and it will kill me!" Orin protested furiously.

Mikage sighed. "Ahh, I really haven't changed at all have I." mikage said sighing as he leaned back getting a bettwer view of the sky and moon. At the command to follow, Mikage's wraist was grabbed before he could respond. Mikage stumbled over branches and dirt as he walked through the woods. He wondered how Pa could see. "Where are we going?" he asked when they suddenly stopped.
Mikage stepped to the side of the man, his eyes widden in surprise at the site he saw, several stoned circles were around the area. But what captivated him most where the people, they looked human, except for the wings that spread across their backs. He was speechless, as he was mesmerized. That was until one of the fairies spoke about earing Mikage's memory and Orin defending him.

Orin's had a bit of tears on his face, he had been crying while walking to the meeting. His thoughts had drifted back to thoughts of losing Mikage again but this time forever while he walked. His wings were out again but now Mikage and his father could see how translucent they had gotten because of the day at school. Orin's father muttered curses under his breath.
"We can't allow him the chance to keep the secret. Orin should he come to reveal it, it would mean certain death for you and almost certain death for our kind. Its bad enough that your father knows." said the fairy who was running the meeting.
"What am I supposed to do if you erase his memory, his disbelief will kill me. He lives with us now." Orin protested.
"We will talk to your father to send him back from where ever he came when he gets here." the fairy said.
"NO! Please, don't make him go back. I just got to see him again, you can't even imagine how painful it was to be separated from him for all this time. It hurt worse than all the disbelief." Orin said tears pouring from his eyes again.

Mikage listened to the claims of the arguments. All the claims heldtruth, but Orin's held more trust and reason. While the others were acuzations. Despite this he was getting upset that Orin was getting upset for his sake. It felt odd since it was always the reversed situation, that Mikage got upset and stood up for Orin, now Orin was standing up for him. Though it didn't matter that the boy had been crying,
Mikage wanted to go out there to tell Orin that it was fine that even if he did loose his memory he would remember even if it took time. That was what he was going to do until Pa held him back, shaking his head. He silently told Mikage to calm down and wait.

"Oh Orin dear, calm down." Cooed a female fairy wrapping her arms around Orin in a hug. "Dear perhaps we should meet the boy before deciding, Orin puts so much trust in him. I think he is at least worth meeting." the female fairy said softly. The male fairy gave a small pouting look.
"Fine we can meet him." he finally relented.
"You can come out now." the female said softly looking over to where Mikage and Orin's father were. Orin looked up surprised as she said that and he saw his father and Mikage appear from the woods. Quickly he tried to wipe away his tears.

Mikage watched as the scenes unfolded. As he watched the female fairy hug Orin. He knew it was to comfort the other, but he couldn't help the rising jelousy. He looked down not wanting to watch, however at being discovered, he blushed lightly glad that it was night. Mikage walked out from behind the trees, pa following him. Mikage kept looking at the ground, his hands in his pockets. It was a habbit of his, even if he did seem rude, he was only shy. He watched keeping his head down, but his eyes constantly watched Orin.

"Pleasant to see you again Alana." Orin's father greeted. Alana gave a small incline of her head as she released Orin as he tried to dry his tears. She smiled kindly towards Mikage. "Alana this is Mikage." Orin's father introduced.
"Its nice to meet you Mikage." Alana said softly her wings fluttering softly as she moved away from Orin. Orin himself turned to hide his fading wings slightly ashamed as his father and Mikage appeared. He wondered how much they had heard.

Mikage glanced at the woman as pa greeted her. He wondered who this Alana fairy was, as well as the cruel male one. Mikage onky hid his face behind his hair, as pa introduced him. "nice to meet you." Mikage said in a soft voice, not sure if the woman heard him or not. Mikage's hair covered eyes glanced from the woman to Orin who was trying to hide his fading wings. He looked down, he felt like it was half his fault they were that translucent.

Alana smiled gently she had heard Mikage say it was nice to meet her. "It isn't your fault his wings are like that Mikage, humans are prone to disbelief. We have survived for as long as we have because we live around each other, Orin has decided to stay with the humans therefore he must deal with their disbelief. We can only get out to help him once a month." Alana said.
"Orin what happened your wings are worse then they were when Mikage arrived." Orin's father exclaimed in a worried tone.
"It was a really bad day at school dad," Orin said softly looking at the ground.

Mikage knew that what the woman said was true, but he also felt like he caused it all by even being here. Like if he didn't show than maybe Orin would have a better day of school, and his wings wouldn't look like this. Why couldn't more people go back to their childhood? Why do they throw that self away just because they grow up? It sickened him in a way, yet he was mostly the same way until Orin fully opened the truth to him. Mikage held his head low, he didn't feel like he belonged here, yet at the same time half of him was hurting just to run over and hold Orin. He bit his bottom lip as he decided to remain put.

Orin allowed his father to scold him about his wings. "Orin perhaps its time to remove you from the school, its causing too much stress for you." Orin's father said. Orin's expression dropped further if possible as his father said he wanted to pull him from school. Orin looked up to see Mikage hiding a bit, and his heart fell more. Was Mikage mad at him for not being able to tell his friends, or was he upset about something he had heard.

At the words of pulling Orin out of school, Mikage's face turned to shock. He looked up at pa. "You can't do that. If you do, then there's no point in me even comming back now." Mikage exclaimed, actually fully voicing something, though it may be for something different. "Where only a year and a half from graduating. We...he can't stop now. I'll protect Orin no matter what. I'll make sure that he won't get hurt again like today. I swear he won't..." Mikage fell silent, glancing at Orin, as his face flushed crimson at his sudden outburst. Who the hell am I kidding. It would be best for Orin to drop out and just be homeschooled or take online classes. But...I don't want to be seperated from him anymore than we already are. he thought looking at the ground in embaressment.

Alana smiled brightly as Mikage defended Orin as his father said he was going to pull him out of school. Orin and his father were quite shocked, and yet Orin looked grateful and a bit relieved. Orin could feel tears running down his cheeks again but now they were from happiness and relief. Orin broke away from his father and hugged Mikage. "See Vlad perhaps it would be good for Orin to have Mikage around with his memory, he can protect Orin from all those people that continue to bully him." Alana said smiling. The other fairy, Vlad gave a grunt of admission. "So then Mikage you shall keep your memory of our race provided you protect Orin and don't tell anyone of our existence or Orin's heritage. Can you do that?" Alana questioned softly trust evident in her eyes.

Mikage looked down as Orin hugged him, his shirt becomming wet with the tears. He gave a small smiled as he wrapped his arms around the other. Mikage lifted Orin's head wipping the tears away from his eyes. He looked at the woman, Mikage tightening his grip slightly, protectively. At the question to protect Orin, he held himself back from rolling his eyes. He wanted to give a smart a** comment but again held back. "I can." he said his eyes showing the honesty of his words.

Orin gave a slight hiccup as he felt Mikage wrap him in a tight embrace. He gave a small smile as the other wiped away his tears. Orin looked at Alana as she spoke to Mikage his brightening hearing Mikage would be able to keep his memory. "Then Mikage, I hereby claim you to be Orin's protector. He cares about you more than you know." Alana said smiling. Orin blushed hiding his face. "Come Orin the time has come the moon is high enough now." Alana said beckoning Orin. He nodded and pulled away from Mikage.
"Stay with me, this isn't very pleasant for him, but it'll bring some form back to his wings." Orin's father said pulling Mikage back a bit. Vlad fluttered down from his tree branch to where his mate and Orin were standing.
