Okay, my rules for an non-GM'd honor based system are together, it seems wordier and more complicated than it is, I am just a**l-retentive.:
Zombie-o-rama Rules Ver.01 - 2009
Health Points:
Human Characters: 150 Zombie Characters: 120 Secondary Zombies: 90
Main Door: 500 Kitchen/Service Door: 550 Basement Fire Exit (Modified stowage hatch): 1200 Interior doors (hollow core): 50 Windows: 30 Chair: 25 (may be added to windows or doors to add cumulative HP) Couch: 70 (may be added to windows or doors to add cumulative HP) Stool: 15 (may be added to windows or doors to add cumulative HP) Karaoke Machine: Over 9,000 (Provides no cover nor cumulative effects and is, in fact, pointless) Bar: 900 (provides only half cover) Exterior walls: 1400 Interior walls: 500
------------------------------------~<=>~------------------------------------
Zombie Horde Rules:
To make for a more terrifying horde, each zombie player will control one (1) primary zombie and four (4) secondary zombies. These zombies may be used all at once or sent out one at a time. Options for each are:
Zombies attack as group:
Cons: - Only one attack permitted per post. - Harder to manage. - Molotovs damage all Zombies in group evenly.
Pros: - Higher chance of overwhelming defenses quickly as there are more zombies to spread damage over. - Zombie player decides which zombie takes the damage. - Improved grapple; When attempted to grab a Human, the number of dice is multiplied by the total number of zombies. I.e.; If the Zombie player has three functioning zombies, they would roll 6D6 (3 x 2D6 zombie grapple damage), as the zombies claw together. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THIS ONE ATTACK/SKILL!
Zombies attack one by one:
Cons: - Easier to pick off. - Gets no bonus for grouping up in grappling.
Pros: - Can whittle down defenses more directly and would get more attacks over time.
(edit: just to keep things simple, flaming zombies do not cause or continue to take additional damage due to being on fire) ------------------------------------~<=>~------------------------------------
Damage System:
Damage is by a simple two dice system with double fumbles and double criticals to make things as easy as possible in an honor based, non-GM'd game.
When a roll comes up with the two highest numbers on the dice, this is a critical hit!
- Humans rolling a critical hit, double the damage of the blow! - Zombies rolling a critical hit on a clawing or biting attack, infect the Human and the Human becomes a Zombie at the beginning of the next page.
When a roll comes up with the two lowest numbers on the dice, this is a fumble!
- Humans rolling a fumble, do no damage. Unless wielding a molotov or chainaxe, then the Human takes full damage as they chuck it into a wall or something and burn themselves. - Zombies rolling a fumble, do no damage.
------------------------------------~<=>~------------------------------------
Equipment and Weapon Damages:
Equipment: Huge Wok used as shield: Damage reduction (left side) of 6. Sports padding: Damage reduction (full body) of 8 The golden canteen: if filled with fine whisky, a sip will heal 2D10 damage to any Human ONCE.
Human Weapons: Improvised Stake (such as a broken chair leg): 2D4 Molotov Cocktail: 2D8 Kitchen knives: 2D6 (edit: same if thrown) Fire axe: 2D6 Huge wok: 2D4 Baseball bat: 2D4 Chainaxe: 2D20 (Exxos calls dibs) Shotgun: 2D10 Hot grease: 2D4 against zombies, 2D6 against Humans Iron bar: 2D4 Broom: 2D4 Improvised flamethrower: 2D10 (causes more damage than other fire applications because it sticks more) Fire extinguisher (as cudgel): 2D4 Holy Water: 2D4 (against zombies only) potato gun: 2D6 broken bear bottle: 2D4 Fire: 2D8 Cast iron skillet: 2D4 fire pokers and other fireplace equipment: 2D6
Zombie Weapons: Bite: 2D4 Claw: 2D6 Grapple: 2D6 Tear: 2D8
------------------------------------~<=>~------------------------------------
Optional special rules: Bonuses: Each Player rolls 1D10 before event and consults this chart: 1 = Human is weak, starts with -20HP; MAIN Zombie is uncoordinated and hurt itself on the way there, -20HP 2 = Nothing 3 = Nothing 4 = Nothing 5 = Nothing 6 = Nothing 7 = Human smells of the wee, Main Zombie is lemony fresh. 8 = Human immune to zombification; MAIN Zombie takes half damage from everything but holy water, magic, fire, and Oprah. 9 = Human carries a firearm, gets free shotgun; MAIN Zombie has sturdy claws and teeth, all attacks do 2D8 damage. 10= Human is physically fit, starts with +20HP; MAIN Zombie was physically fit or immensely fat in life, starts with +50HP.
Characters already in play bonuses: Exxos (Barely Human): Starts with 180HP because the guy should be dead already, must be zombified twice to be turned. Camwen (Saucy Matron): Starts with 165HP, Expert barwoman does 2D10 molotov damage. Nate_17 (human chef): Excellent kitchen skills, does 2D8 knife damage and 2D6 hot grease damage. Nochdguir (Zombie/Demi-lich): Starts with 150HP and can command zombie rotbunnies, literally chunks of himself that have fallen off, gotten dusty, and can move through small cracks in the defenses: 5HP each, can control 10 at once, do 1D4 damage when attacking, cannot zombify. Takes 30 damage when Erinschaos is destroyed. Erinschaos (Zombie/Lich): Starts with 150HP, can call for reinforcements two times to summon 1D4 secondary zombies each time (in addition to the starting 4 secondaries). Takes 30 damage when Nochdguir is destroyed.
------------------------------------~<=>~------------------------------------
Post structure Examples:
Zombie/Nochdguir says: "Zombie 1 HP: 86 Zombie 2 HP: 17 Zombie 3 HP: 34 Zombie 4 HP: 12 Main Zombie HP: 81
I shamble back and forth clawing at the door to take it down!
(Action roll 2D6 to determine clawing damage: got 12, door fails)"
-----------------------
Human/Exxos says: "HP remaining: 97 Equipped with: Chainaxe and bucket
As they come through the door, I hit the first one through and try to channel them towards Lamb!
(Action roll 2D20 to determine chainaxe damage: got 38, Zombie of Noch's choice takes 38 damage)"
-----------------------
Zombie/Nochdguir says: "Zombie 1 HP: 86 Zombie 2 HP: 17 Zombie 3 HP: 34 Zombie 4 HP: DESTROYED! Main Zombie HP: 81
My weakest fellow of the undead drops in a gory, mutilated heap!
Is that the best you can do?!
*Lunges at Exxos*
(Action roll 8D6 to determine grappling damage from 4 incoming zombies: got 37, Exxos takes 37 damage)"
-----------------------
Human/Exxos says: "HP remaining: 60 Equipped with: Chainaxe and bucket
Yeah! It was!
*Exxos runs like hell!*"

@Knives- Also good for throwing, mates~
Lets see... Are we missing anything important? Any possible entrances we've missed? Any potential weapons?
...Do we have a priest handy to bless the water? Are zombies weak against holy water?
OOH!! I KNOW!! LETS MAKE POTATO GUNS!!

***************************** thank you Exxos!! We'll try to abide by these rules as best as we can. Please remind us patiently when we go off track. I suggest that everyone print out his post *points to the long post a little higher up on the page* to help keep track of things. And don't be afraid to ask about anything (how to roll dice, if an action is allowed, or even "I don't get it" ) This should be fun not frustrating wink Anyone is welcome to join in at any point - even if you've never done anything like this before. No rp experience required ***************************** Exxos - I love that you have the golden canteen be a healing item! *makes sure it's filled with the very best whiskey*

♦ ♣ ♥ ♠ Unless Exxos disagrees I'd say you have the same stats/bonuses as me. After all, I hired you because you are an expert barwoman too! Unless you want to take your chances of something better (or possibly worse) by rolling your own bonuses.

*After having her dinner burnt to a crisp, but finishing it anyways... Zombie/Sunny realizes she is on fire and looks back at the door from which the attack came. She howls in pain as her skin begins to burn off and is joined by another zombie. She points and roars at the door.*
Zombie/Sunny says: Main Zombie HP: 120 1st secondary zombie: 90
*they start banging and clawing on the front door.. (Zombie/Sunny ofcourse doing fire damage)
***Zombie/Sunny contemplated what to roll and then realized she's a zombie.. who can no longer read... and probably has the dexterity of a goat and therefore can't roll dice... That and I just couldn't figure out what to roll.. I'm slow sorry Exxos...
