Raquel had to chuckle at that. "That we did...I think...we need to back up...and take things slowly love...cherish the tiniest moments and make them last before moving on to the next thing... It'll help us get back to where we want to be hm?" She cooed, leaning up to kiss him as well.

"And we can start with... sleeping. Sleeping for many, many hours and not giving a damn about what's going on in the rest of the world." He had responsibilities, true, but they could thankfully wait until the last minute. Procrastination was a vice he could dig back up. "So what do you say to sleeping? Laying in that bed, surrounded by comforters and drifting off knowing you're safe..." Damian made it sound so sweetly seductive that he hoped she couldn't say no. What greater appeal could he offer her than safety, when he could actually give it to her?

She smiled easily, eyes closing just for a moment as she nodded. "Sounds lovely... I am utterly exhuasted and even though I have doubts about how well i'll sleep... The security alone, as well as your hold is more than enough to coax me upstairs..." She smiled softly, kissing his chin, then his lips before easing up off him gently.

And so they both went upstairs to rest, finally. It had been a very long day. A long, incredible day that had renewed them both and exhausted them at the same time.
Damian made sure to wrap Raquel up from head to toe in warm blankets, and to give her only the best pillows. He would spoil her for the rest of her life, that he was sure of, to make up for everything he thought he couldn't undo.

Raquel did actually sleep. Something she was rather thankful for. Even though she was still uneasy and woke up a few times, it wasnt so bad since she felt and sense damian right there next to her. He cradled her all night as if trying to grasp her in his subconscious so she couldnt be taken away again. Raquel did the same so the two essentially spent the night utterly entangled in a sweet caring but tight hold on the other.
Though finally morning came peaking through the window, filling the glorious room with a warm golden light. Raquel stirred, still a bit touchy and sensitive to practically everything, still not having her senses all together. Though she didnt move, simply trying to convince herself she wasnt dreaming or dead. That she was indeed alive and safe in Damian's arms...

Damian didn't sleep any better. If anything, he hardly slept at all. Every time Raquel would stir, his eyes would open to the darkness and search her out. He just needed to make sure that she was alright and safe, and that nothing was happening to her to make her fidget or start slightly. But, every time he checked, she was fine and sleeping once more. He could feel her breathe, and feel her hold on him. It took such an effort to make himself believe everything would be alright.
Damian was thankful when the morning light came and he could see her clearly again. Raquel looked so tired and worn out, but she was still incredibly beautiful to him. Nothing could have greeted him better in the morning than her face blinking away sleep. "Darling..." he whispered, and kissed her on the forehead. "Good morning."

She smiled softly, nuzzling into him before returning the kiss. "Good morning love..." She whispered as well, tilting her head back down to kiss his lower neck and chest. "I missed you..." She smiled knowing very well he hadnt gone anywhere. Yet after all they'd been through even being asleep took her too far away from him.

"I watched over you," he whispered. Her smell, her touch, it was all back. All there again, like always, only now he felt as if he truly couldn't exist without her. He regretted their rough patch before she had gone away to college. All that squandered time, and here she was once more after being taken from him altogether. "You kept waking up or fidgeting in you sleep... but everything was alright. How do you feel?" He knew her back was hurt and probably sore, and maybe she was hungry. He couldn't tell in his own bliss.

She smiled lightly, closing her eyes. "Wonderful if I dont move..." She chuckled, feeling sore for weeks now, though even more so with all the emotional turmoil they had just been through. "Thank you though...for...well I dont really know...everything i suppose..." She sighed, gazing up into his eyes. Oh God how she'd missed those eyes. She tried to memorize his features every time her eyes would close but after some time, they started to get fuzzy, which scared her.
Though now here he was, crystal clear and tangible.

"No need to thank me for simply loving you." His eyes had changed since she'd last seen him. They were always concerned, and had a tired light behind them. He looked as if he would jump to get anything her heart desired, and he would. Damian was still desperately clutching on to reality as if it were a dream. "If you need anything... anything at all, just tell me and I will go fetch it for you. Anything at all." Inside, he cringed. He'd been saying that so many times that it was common knowledge, and over the years, what hadn't he done for her? He'd almost died. Wasn't that saying enough?

"I've got everything I need Damian...Just what you're doing...caring for me..." She hugged him tightly desperately trying to convince him she was ok, even though she wasnt so sure of that herself. She was angry really at this whole situation.
Not only had it seemingly set them both back to square one, but the emotional toll it took on them. Poor Damian...he was just starting to get closure when she was dropped back into his life as if she never left. That had to mess him up.
She reasoned that soon that would need to be addressed. She wished things could jsut be normal though there was no hope of that for awhile. She knew that and tried to let it settle in her heart and gut.
"Ah-...there is one thing..." She attempted to sit up a bit. "Let me make you breakfast?" She asked with soft pleading eyes. Another small thing she missed. Waking up early to surprise him with breakfast like she used to do.

"But you're hurt." He was just as angry at the entire situation as well. Raquel's spark that she had worked so hard to regain had been put out again, and he was sent back into his grief that he felt for his parents. Oddly enough, his father's passing had never been truly understood and Damian was alright with that. All he needed to know was that he would be killed as well if he tried to pursue it, and his father wouldn't have wanted that for the sake of knowing. Besides, he had it pretty figured out as it was: he had to die so that woman could get his wealth. And that was that.
He didn't want the ball room back, he didn't want the chandeliers and dancing. Well, at least not there. He just wanted Raquel to feel better and safe, and to have her biting little witty remarks back. She was intelligent, beautiful, and talented. But the woman before him was struggling just to sit up. He couldn't let her just make him breakfast...
...but that was what she wanted. "...only if you let me help you up. And wear my robe. Mornings are a bit chilly..."

"Fine..." She smiled, meeting his lips in agreement. "We'll make it together..." She pushed her forehead against his, though pulled back to try and figure out how to stand. "And eventually...I'd adore a shower...dont know how well that will go however..."
She tried to laugh, studying his tired worn face, wishing so much she could take back that year of suffering and grieving he went through.

Without looking roguish or desperate, Damian immediately piped up, "I'll help you with that, if you'd like." They had shower escapades before, but this time would be different. He'd behave, he'd help her in any way he could. Damian got out of bed and went over to her side to take her hand. Every movement he made was so soft and controlled for fear he would hurt her in some way.

Raquel tried to give him a smile though grimaced as she pulled herself and atem. Nothing he did hurt her, it was just her battered body making things difficult. "I should be able to manage..." Though she stopped herself form protesting. Damianwouldntrest until he helped her somehow. "But a little assistance would be fine if you want..." She blushed slightly, mostly out of frustration.
