I'd love to have the opportunity to visit this countries historical sites though, maybe one day..Its true...I live here but i have never been to any of the places mentioned by Anna confused Welcome new members. Eric, If you're a teacher at Langdon Secondary School in East Ham, London... TELL NO ONE MY RESULTS! George- I've seen a few of London's. I'm living 2 minutes from a Viking Boat burial. It was found in a local Graveyard ((No Pop, I do not go there to hang out.))

More along the lines of 'Well, you've sure as hell bugtussled that one!' Used, I believe, to indicate that something's been slashed, slain, utterly ruined, destroyed, or in some other way bungled. If I'm not mistaken, the same goes for 'wilfarked'.
And Cork is by no means a true Texan, seeing as she was born (I think) in Mexico, moved to Germany as a toddler, and has subsequently gone crashing through England, Holland, India and Venezuela with the rest of her insane people. She's the one who told me that 'The North American continent has five types of venemous snakes, and all eighty of them live in Texas.' gonk I stay away.

georgehippo Annanoria We wanted to go the Scotland and Wales, but there was a fuel shortage and we ran out of time. oh, that old chestnut! 3nodding Chestnut, maybe, but true. Hubby had arranged a rental car, and we had a list of places to go. We flew into Heathrow on a Tuesday, the same day fuel tax protesters blocked trucks from the refineries from making their deliveries. The same ploy worked in France not long before. It didn't work in the UK, but it was still a week before we could get the fuel to go far, and we were only there 11 days.

I'm fortunate to live in a city oozing with history, so I've visited plenty of local sites, and some further afield in Scotland (and a few in England). If you want to be truly chilled to the marrow, visit Culloden... it has a brooding, eerie atmosphere and a sense of tragedy that I'll never forget.

eek Another reason to avoid Texas like the plague, thank you for that 3nodding I have visited Badbury Rings. A lovely place, no photographs ever seem to do it justice. But really, all my visiting was done during school trips and summer holidays as a child, and you really don't appreciate these places when you're 8, you just end up with hazy memories and a wish to see it all again through adult eyes. And Anna, the best way to tour Britain is on a tandem bicycle wink

ninja well..So i'd have to choice of:~ a) sitting in the front, no doubt to end up doing most of the pedalling AND have Hippo looking at my bum eek or.. b) have to look at Hippo's bum instead burning_eyes think i'll walk
