Kara took a deep breath, still holding onto Toren, and her grip on his arm tightened slightly. She controlled her emotions, making sure that she wasn't trembling.

"I'm ready, Lilith," Kara said quietly.

Toren sighed and patted her hand reassuringly. "It will be alright. Lilith and I will be right there with you. You have nothing to worry about, I promise," he said. It could have been a lie, but he would do his best to make it the truth.

Kara shuddered and nodded. "Let's go."

Nodding, and opening the dining hall door, Lilith walked in, straight and elegant. She wanted to give the guests the best impression she could of the Kingdom, she was the Royal Advisor after all. Standing a few feet away from the door, she saw Jerome and Tsuzuki, her Highness Margarette and the other guards and guests. Curtsying, and clearing her throat, a beautiful smile crossed her face as she looked around. "May i present, her highness, Princess Kara." Romanian accent accentuating on the 'r's, Lilith lifted her hand, and a small fire replica of a phoenix flew around the room, lighting the remaining candles on the walls, bathing the entire ballroom in a beautiful glow, not a shadowy corner in sight. Dazzling blue orbs looked at everyone, before turning to the open door, her gaze soft on Kara and Toren.

Kara swallowed and Toren straightened and gave her a reasurring smile. She also straightened and then he was startled to realize that all thoughts of doubt, anxiety, and fear were gone. All Kara though about now was her father's face.

Toren led her inside slowly and uncertainly. How could anyone make such a change in her manner and thoughts without saying or doing anything? It puzzled him and honestly, it concerned him. People like her had secrets in their pasts.

He walked her to her chair next to Jerome and a servent pulled the chair out for her. Kara sat fluidly and folded her hands elegantly and lowered her eyes.

((She is sitting by Jerome, isn't she? I can edit it if she isn't...))

{[No, you're correct! She's next to Jerome, and Toren's opposite his brother, Lilith opposite Kara.]}
Waiting until the Princess was seated, Lilith walked around to the opposite side of the table, eyes not meeting anyone. Caught by surprise as the servant pulled the chair out for her and seated her, a tiny, almost invisible blush caught her cheeks. For a mere hour or more, she'd feel like royalty. Letting the servant fold a napkin over her lap, a thank you smile was flashed before she clasped her hands in her lap, feeling a tad nervous.
Lilith looked quickly up and down the table, her nerves not showing, even with Toren sitting next to her. She'd never eaten with the Royal family before, and to be frank, it worried her. Would she be alright? Would her manners be up to standard? Her fingers fidgeted with the napkin in her lap, out of sight from all but those sitting next to her. She hoped for everyone's sake dinner was a success, because she would be to blame if it wasn't. She did organise and plan the whole thing.

Kara kept her mind clear of fear, watching her hands without blinking. She did listen to those around her, however, and she did feel Jerome next to her.

Sneaking a glance at him, she realized that he was even more handsome than the other vampires, but he seemed unhappy, and she returned to gazing absently at her hands.

Toren noticed Lilith fidgeting uneasily and reached over smoothly to still her hands. "It's alright, Lilith," he whispered just for her ears, looking over at his brother and the silent human girl.

"Just relax and you will be fine,"
he told her gently. He waited for the servants to start bringing out the food so that he could distract himself from Jerome's stiff attitude.

Jerome kept his eyes firmly planted on the table. He was anything but pleased. Though he did notice Kara out of the corner of his eye. She was handsome, truly. But his mind was racing with the thought of Lilith. He couldn't help it. But Jerome made a vow to find love for Kara, though his heart belonged to Lililth. Jerome, as hard as he tried couldn't get the feel of Lilith's soft lips pressed onto the corner of his. Jerome cleared his throat and decided to try and make conversation with his finacee.

"How was your trip, Kara?
Jerome asked quietly. His head raised just enough to study the human next to him. It pained him very much to not sneak a glance at Lilith, but he would do whatever it took to please his mother for the time being. Besides, Jerome should at least try to fall for her.. Even if she wasn't a vampire. Jerome was now staring into Kara's brilliant blue eyes.

Soft fingers fell on hers and Lilith looked up and saw Torens calm face. Her fingers immediately stopped, and gently rubbed his, her cold skin warmly tingling as her heart almost skipped a slow beat. "Ok, i'll try." She said softly in return.
It would be a few moments before being served. Tradition. Wait five minutes, then everything came out at once. Taking a soft breath, she quietly exhaled past her lips, looking at Kara and Jerome. He was trying, and her heart fluttered a little. Why didn't he look at her? Looking at a servant, she nodded almost un-noticeably, and they all disappeared. Her nod would signal service, and it was needed now. Just in case of any awkward silences.

((Just so you know, I'm not going to have a computer for a while again. Sorry!!!))

Kara glanced over at Toren--her adviser of sorts--for reassurance and then looked up and met Jerome's dark, worry-free eyes and was somewhat surprised that he was talking to her at all this early in her arrival. She had expected him to completely ignore her for some time, and yet, here he was, speaking to her.

"My trip was...interesting. I had quite an adventure with my guards and some of your people," she said quietly.

She gave him a smile, just hoping that the two of them could get off on the right foot. "It is a pleasure to meet your at last, Jerome," Kara told him honestly.

Toren smiled slightly at her. "Good," he said quietly.

He looked over at Jerome, pleased that his brother was already speaking to Kara. It was a little odd for him, but people could surprise you.

{[Now we just need Ookami and we're all set!]}
Smiling a little, Lilith heard Jerome's low voice, then Kara'a light one. They were talking. Lilith didn't know whether to smile or frown. If Jerome really was trying to like Kara, she was glad, but if he was just doing it as a front, as a show, then that wouldn't be as good.
Delicious smells soon filled the dining room as the servants came around offering drinks to all; each guest had their own waiter for the evening. It was so all the food went to the right people: the blood-laced food for the vampires, the un-touched for the humans, and the special orders for the guards. The drinks of choice served for the vampires were a deep red wine, well aged, fruity, and laced with the purest, untainted AB blood there was. Everyone else had a choice of red or white, to suit their taste.
Lifting the crystal goblet, the red liquid barely moving, Lilith sighed almost un-noticeably. She was to make a toast, her Majesty had asked her so. Gently taping the side of the glass with her entrée spoon, she gracefully stood, the large amount of candlelight giving her porcelain skin a beautiful glow. "A toast, to the coming together of kingdoms." And raising her glass, blue orbs looked from Kara to Jerome, a soft smile on her full lips.

Jerome nodded, and smiled warmly. "Well that's good then."
He wasn't himself, and he hated it. But as long as he could get off to a right start, things might be better than Jerome believed they were. "No, no.. The pleasure is all mine"
Jerome said, turning his attention to the food that was being served. It looked very delicious. He grew hungrier with each passing moment. The wine looked equally good. Just before he could reach for the glass, Lilith rose and proposed a toast.

Jerome couldn't help but meet with her eyes. He frooze but kept an emotionless stare. A few moments passed as a pang of hurt shot through him. Jerome managed to break from her eyes and picked up his glass, to join in with the toasting. He cleared his throat and nodded. He turned to Kara and smiled warmly, before letting his gaze fall on Toren. Hi schocolate colored eyes quickly fixed themselves on a spot in the center of the table.

Tsuzuki who had been sitting quietly, and obediantly in his seat, was watching Prince Jerome carefully. He was concerned for him, he really wished that things could seem a little brighter for him. When Lilith lifted her glass for a toast, followed by Jerome, Tsuzuki lifted his as well, Even though he didn't fully understand the meaning of this wedding all of a sudden, and he didn't like it too much, since it didn't really appeal to Jerome much at all.

Margarette, finally deciding to make her appearance in her elegant red dress, walked in as stood next to the chair at the head of the table, and lifted her glass that was already waiting for her, "Yes, and a toast, to the coming together of two young souls. That will be united through marriage!" Margarette of course had this smile as if she was eager for something, and she glanced at Jerome, to try and let him know he needed to look happy for this.

Hearing Magarette's voice, Lilith took her seat again, not before she met Jerome's lovely eyes. The soft feeling of him when she left the kiss on the edge of his lips nearly made her drop her glass, but looking at the food in front of her, she sat down, avoiding all eye contact.
She caught the movement of Jerome looking at Toren, and Lilith folded her hands in her lap, waiting for everyone to be served before beginning to eat. She didn't really need to eat the food; same with the other vampires, it was more of a formality, a front to make the humans and other guests more comfortable. Roast beef, roast potatoes, spring vegetables and gravy were in front of all the people at the table. True it smelt divine, but Lilith didn't want to touch any of it. This food was too good for her, she was just the Royal Advisor. Not quite servant status, but definitely not privileged enough to eat at the table with them.
But yet, here she was, by Margarette's asking. Almost pleading actually. Lilith had refused graciously almost every time she asked, argument being she wasn't worthy of eating with them. As much as she saw Margarette as a second mother, she didn't feel... Special enough. As the servants stood back, the feast began. Everyone began to eat; save for Lilith. She took a sip from her goblet instead, hand shaking. She shouldn't be sitting there. Not after today. Not near Jerome and Toren. Her blue orbs took a glance at the handsome vampire next to her, and she calmed. She'd do it for him, she'd brave through the dinner for Toren. Picking up her cutlery with a shaky hand, she joined in eating.

He grew stiff, and frowned. He wasn't in any joyus mood, like his mother was. He couldn't figure it out. Why was she so eager to have him and Kara wed? He didn't know and the bothered him some. His chocoate eyes rested on the foods. He didn't need to eat, but he began to chow down, in an elegant manner. Jerome tried his hardest to keep those chocolate eyes of his down, and on the meal. But his urges were overpowering. How he despreatly wanted to speak with Lilith in private, but that most likely wouldn't happen. How he needed was one simple distraction to keep his mind off everything. Right now he was stressed to the max. True he didn't wish to be wed, but he would have to.

And even though his heart screamed Lilith, he would settle for Kara. Hopefully with time he would truly fall in love with Kara. She was very beautiful, but it just didn't seem right to him. Maybe she felt the same, who knew. Jerome would have to speak with her later. Jerome rose slowly, and looked at everyone. "Please, excuse me. I need to catch some fresh air." With that, Jerome left. Waiters quickly came and removed the dishes. Sadness filled his heart, as he made his way to the main doors. Sure the sunlight would hurt for a little, but once he was under a nice shady tree, he would feel much better.

Unable to eat more than she tried, Lilith put down her cutlery. Jerome had left the room, and she wanted to follow, not just because she wanted to find out what was wrong, but because she just didn't feel comfortable. It was definitely 10 minutes after Jerome had left, a long enough time to make her exit a separate one. Looking at Toren, she gave him a fleeting smile, before quietly excusing herself, almost running out the ballroom.
Once out in the hallway, she sighed softly. The last rays of sunlight were visible through the windows as she ran down the passages, coming out the side door into the gardens. Heading for her shady spot under the willow trees out of sight, she curled up in a swinging lounge, looking across the koi fish pond behind her.
She wished that Toren was there, which slowly developed into wishing Jerome was with her. She wanted to like Toren, she really did, he understood her so much. But there was something about Jerome which she was really attracted to. Was it because he was engaged?

Jerome desperatly wanted to sit under his usual tree, but that was right in front of the dining hall. He didn't need pitiful humans watching him, nor the rest of the castle. He grimaced, and stared into the sun, but only for a moment. The light burned his chocolate eyes terribly. He frowned and thought for a moment. "Where is another delightful shady and quiet spot to think..?"Jerome thought long and hard about this. Hiding in the shade of the castles wall. Then it hit him, The Gardens. His fangs glistened in the sunlight, as he grinned.

"Shade.."
He whispered in a lusty way. How he wanted to run, but if he were spotted he would get strange looks from the staff. He looked at the swinging bench, it was moving and someone was sitting in it. Jerome frooze when he figured out who it was. Tears wanted to fill his eyes badly, but he swallowed them back. Jerome didn't know if he should advance and join her, or turn back and find a new spot. Time seemed like it slowed and Jerome hated that feeling. He took one deep breath, and walked forward.
