Korsu chuckled, "When you put it that way. It sounds as if you want to get me killed out in the middle of nowhere!" he said with a grin. But he shrugged and said, "But if you wanted that, I did say you could have anything." He heard an argument being held by the person who almost refused to seat them, and a red haired female. He noticed that the problem was about not allowing weapons. He frowned slightly, they didn't have that problem when coming in. But probably because we threatened them.. he thought to himself with a wry grin. When he heard the female use him as an example, he looked back to them and saw that she had then been seated to the table next to theirs. Looking at her with a friendly smile he said, "That man seems to go out of his way to make trouble for his customers."

Rhiannon overheard snatches of the conversation as she pulled a few of her research journals. Each was labeled with the region she had been located while using the journal, and she wanted to see if she could piece some things together by looking at her notes. With two of the worn books under each arm Rhia made her way back to the living room, sitting on the floor near the table.
As she spread the opened journals across the table a small sigh escaped her lips. There was no telling what could be causing the crystal evolution among all the beasts, and she had been puzzling over the problem endlessly. Rothmet and Edane seemed equally lost in thought when she had entered the room, and though she was more than curious about the unusual sword sitting on Rothmet's lap she remained silent, lost in contemplation.
After shaking her head a bit as if to clear it out, she applied herself to her current task. She read over her notes carefully, noticing similarities and connection as well as a few anomolies. From what she had seen, the crystals only seemed to transform predators, making them stronger and more dangerous. Rhia was unsure what siginificance this observation could have, but she jotted it down quickly with a pen that had been sitting on the table.

Tara had just been about to pick up the menu when the boy at the table next to her, the one she had tried to use as an excuse to bring in her swords, spoke to her. ”Oh, it’s alright. I understand where he’s coming from. They have a reputation to keep. Or make.” Tara answered cheerfully, but then added in a softer voice, “I would still prefer to have them at my side…” The red-haired girl shook her head to clear out the thoughts that were starting to pop up. Now wasn’t the time to think about such things. She was about to introduce herself when a waitress appeared, notebook in hand.
“Hello, my name is Jenny. I’ll be the one taking care of you tonight. Have you decided what you would like to order?”
With a brief glance at the menu, Tara said, “Yes. I’ll have the wild mushroom linguini with penne sauce.”
“Alright. Would you like anything to drink while you’re waiting?” Jenny asked as she made a quick note on the paper.
”Umm… Sure. I’d like a glass of red wine, if you have any.
“Do you have proper identification?”
“Would a passport do?”
“Sure.”
Tara reached into one of her many pockets and pulled out a worn, booklet looking thing and handed it to Jenny. The waitress looked it over for a few seconds before saying it was fine and that the food and wine would arrive shortly.
As soon as she had left the table, Tara turned again to Korsu. ”With that out of the way, how about I introduce myself. My name is Tara.”

Tatsu proped her head up on her hands, both elbows on the table, and watched with obvious amusement the bit of trouble that the wait staff was putting Tara through, when she introduced herself, however, Tatsu leaned dramatically over so that she could be seen around Korsu. "Hello, Tara. I'm Tatsu... Nice to see that Hikamitsuians aren't the only people around here the wait-staff discrimates against," She laughed slightly, sounded very cheerful despite the fact he words were nothing to be cheerful about. "This guy here is Korsu. He says he's a Maolna. Note the amazingly intriguing wings." She pointed out and she motioned towards him dramatically with one has as if gesturing to a museum exhibt. After she had done it, however, Tatsu appeared to actually be ashamed, and her smile softened and she shrugged apolgetically, "Sorry... I still can't get over how awesome you are..."

It had taken Rhia a few moments to register what Malcholar was saying, lost in her work. The words sunk in and she moved, about to rise and answer, when the two of them began to argue.
"It's not a problem, I have..." she trailed off, knowing that her words were completely unheard, lost in the angry words being exchanged.
When the swords were drawn Rhia froze, her grey eyes darting to each man. She didn't want it to come to blows, but she was unsure how to prevent the quarrel from escalating. A sigh of relief escaped her when they both sheathed their blades. I suppose I'll have to get used to this, she thought, planting her hands on her hips.
"I would be glad to get you both some food. Honestly, if you had given me a few moments before you started bickering I would have told you as much," she finally said, her voice wry with amusement.
"I'll make some stew," Rhia added, walking over to the kitchen that was only a few feet away. She had enough odds and ends to make enough for the two of them, but she wasn't really hungry anyway.

Neither of them offered a reply to Rhia as she left. While they were bickering nobody else existed to them, just their enemy in a battle of wits. Malcholar imagined his companion was weighing whether or not to apologize to their host. He on the other hand went back to reading. The book of his hands was ancient, like all of the others he carried. This language though resembled the Deshret tongue, so it was easy for Malcholar to decipher.
The book didn't hold any significant information. It wasn't a Biography, or cartography book. It didn't contain any historical value as far as facts go. However, it held an abundance of cultural information. It was a book of poems. Hundreds of them rested within the pages. Malcholar was nearly half-way through it.
He was muttering the words out loud, though in his native tongue. A habit he had when reading. It wasn't loud enough that the words could be made out, but loud enough to be heard.
After weighing whether to apologize or not Kaledan let the issue drop. Rhia didn't seem serious in her scolding, more amused then serious. Kaledan didn't find anything about their arguments amusing however. It was only once the smell of Rhia's cooking reached his nose the his anger began to fade away. He gazed out of the room's only window, to the right of the couch. Dusk had settled upon the city. However it was no less bright. It seemed the day had just begun for the other residents.

Karoku felt something lick his face and realized it was Iio. The small dog must have been off on his own doing something. He laughed a bit and sat up, letting the pup jump on to his lap and bark playfully up at him, his tail wagging and tongue hanging out. "Hey, Iio, what's up, bud?" Karoku ran his hand down the dog's back, through it's fur. Karoku continued to pet the dog, still thinking of Enya. He smiled faintly and leaned his head back to stare up at the ceiling, Iio curling up in a ball on his lap.

She was pulling out all the things she needed in a methodical manner, ingredients laid out on the counter in a row. Rhia was humming quietly, her voice pleasant and warm, the tune catchy and familiar although she wasn't sure where she learned it in the first place. Occasionally she would glance out of the kitchen to see how Rothmet and Edane were doing, but both seemed content.
Rhiannon stayed in the kitchen, occasionally stirring the steaming pot with a large wooden spoon, adding ingredients as she saw fit. She tasted the stew carefully, the hot broth barely burning the roof of her mouth when she swallowed. It tasted wonderful, and the smell filled the kitchen and wafted into the other rooms.
After a brief moment of searching, she found two bowls and a ladle, the sounds of dishes clinking momentarily drowning out her humming. Carefully, not wanting to spill the hot stew on herself, Rhia filled the bowls almost to the brim and carried them into the living room.
"Here you go. Nothing fancy, but it's food," she announced, setting both bowls on the table in front of each of them.
After serving her guests, she gathered her journals and moved them off the table and onto the floor. However, she found she was doodling in the margins, abstract swirls and shapes that soon surrounded her notes. Sighing softly she put her pen down, returning her attention to her guests.

Running footsteps echoed through an alley as Shaylee skidded around a nearby corner to avoid the guards spotting her. She panted and peaked around the corner to see if she had lost them, but only to see the large Basqirra head guard looming over her. "Eep," Shaylee squeaked and darted off down the alley again as fast as she could away from the guard. She heard a sigh from behind her making her giggle.

Korsu chuckled at Tatsu and said with a smile, "Don't worry. It's fine. I'm actually getting a kick out of it. I don't meet very many people who actually are willing to talk to me. Actually, you're the first. All the others are afraid of me." Then looking at Tara he said with another smile, "Hello Tara, and as Tatsu said, I'm Korsu. Pleased to meet you."
((Hmm.. that could have led to me not posting for awhile.. I didn't know we were moved to 3rd level!!))

"Likewise." Tara replied. Smiling, the princess looked the both of them over. Korsu definitely wasn't from around here and Tatsu looked like she hadn't had a bath in at least a few days. Just to make sure though, she asked. "I take it that neither of you are from around here?" If that was the case, Tara could offer them a place at her apartment.
As she finished asking two waitresses approached. One was Jenny, bearing a platter with Tara's dish and a glass of red wine. The other bore two dishes of shrimp linguini and laid them down at Tatsu and Korsu's table. The two wished them a pleasant meal and then left.

Tatsu laughed and blushed beneath the dirt that covered her pale skin. "I'm a Hikamitsuian, I come from the islands off the coast of here. I've been traveling around for awhile, note the dirt, and I ran into Korsu here while looking for a hot meal." She flashed a grin that revealed surprisingly white teeth next to her dusty skin.

Canaya found herself flustered and a little annoyed to be frank. She'd just ran into a traveller on his way to wherever it was he was headed and she'd asked him if he needed help or anything at all, directions, healing, and so on. He'd ACTUALLY had the gall to call her a foul name and stalk off. She was steaming mad and had almost tripped him with the root of a tree but decided against it, he'd get his comeuppance eventually, even it if wasn't going to be from her.
She was wandering around town for a moment before she saw a figure dart through an alley. Frowning, she allowed her all too curious nature to lure her into the alley. Most would steer clear, she wasn't like most...some would say she was rash with her decisions but she didn't really care too much. Canaya poked her head into the alley and squinted, a figure maybe? She decided to follow, a rather large book in her hand, she recorded all of her findings in it and it was never NOT at her side.
Canaya was sure-footed and quick like an arrow, her people were known for some speed but mostly for their magic skills. She heard another pair of feet in pursuit and turned back to see a rather large guard chasing either her or the figure that was ahead. Canaya blinked and gulped.....he WAS rather large. She poured on a little more speed and tried to catch up with the quick figure ahead of her.
"Wait!" Canaya hissed, she didn't want to be caught by the....THING.

Shaylee paused for a moment as her ears caught the sound of someone else's footsteps besides those of her and the palace guard and heard a whisper. She looked over her shoulder to peek at who was there. Her eye caught a glimpse of a female. She growled slightly. "There goes my escape," she muttered to herself as she glanced around the alley to find another route out. She stopped and was bouncing on her toes with impatience.
She looked back again to see that the girl was still there. "Might as well recruit a little help," she mused and mimed to the girl to be quiet and pointed to an adjacent alley way that was mostly shadows and darted off in that direction she had indicated and climbed up to the roofs of the nearest building.
