Lina watched Ren, Her shuriken doubled back on itself as it chased Ren.
Lina was still chasing Ren, now a few meters distance from his direct path. Noticing where they were running. She formed a rapid negative charge and a moment later shot off a roughly aimed lightning bolt, bouncing it off the shuriken which while loosing the barrier continued towards Ren as it started to come apart, sending melting shrapnel out in all directions.
Lina raised her arms to block the double-edge of her attack. Her scales blocking the sharp fragments damage, but the hotter fragments seemed to make her wince.

So it wasn't a normal attack after all.
Ren's Byakugan picked up the sudden output of Lina's chakra, she was about to use an attack. The rock in Ren's hand finished transforming into a flat rock.
As Lina was performing her combo attack, Ren chucked the flat rock at the ground. The lightning bolt was already flying at him at this point. Ren dodged to the ground to avoid it and landed past the flat rock. He clapped the ground with a small amount of chakra. The patch of earth reacted and a slanted wall of granite stone spawned over Ren to protect him from the oncoming shrapnel.

Lina threw her remaining six kunai, all with tags trailing towards Ren's barrier before suddenly changing her direction.
As she switched to her skate technique she pulled a lump of metal from the bag at her waist, forming a bo-staff. Making her way back towards the last wall Ren had used to grab the kunai from her earlier attack.
'It's close enough to the dojo to where I could get a quick recharge off the ambient energy' she thought to herself.

Ren's skin texture was starting to mimic the ground he was laying on. The kunai made contact with the granite earth wall while Ren disappeared underground again. The wall was destroyed by the attack.

Lina grabbed her fallen weapons, tossing them into the empty holster and quickly started pulling in the energy. She looked around cautiously before again speeding towards a spot Ren hadn't been to. A moment later she jabbed the staff into the ground and focused.
She opened her chakra sense again, not wanting to deal with a near hit surprise attack this time.

Ren traveled through the ground at a quick pace, which made it hard for him to conceal his chakra signature. His Byakugan had its sights on Lina who seemed to be standing in a position that was away from his three spots of soil. The energy coming towards her signaled Ren that she was trying to recharge her chakra supply somehow.
"!"
Ren phased out of the ground twenty feet away from Lina before he made a mad dash at her. He had pulled out the second stone that was in his pocket and was changing its shape quicker this time.

The girl grabbed the staff and twirled it before getting into a stance. She was still drawing in power calmly holding her position. A small part of her mind filed away the usefulness of suppressing her energy some more with each attack to hide the fact she was just topping off her reserves.
Her eyes focused on Ren. She had always wanted to see how the hand to hand technique of that bloodline fared against either the Ark style, or her personal variation of the dragon style. But she supposed the tactic she had in mind was far more intelligent.

Ren was within ten feet now before he chucked the now transformed rock-shuriken at Lina's head.
In those seconds he gave a quick burst of speed and closed the distance between them. Ren came in low with chakra applied on his palms. He sent a palm outwards to strike her left knee and kept his other hand ready to defend himself.

Lina's staff jabbed out deflecting the rock shuriken. Her leg would seem left open till just before the hand strike when almost instantly a very highly electrified barrier formed tightly around her body. Slowly there were signs of a second barrier forming out five meters from the two combatants.
Lina preformed a sweep with the staff in her hand. following with jabs, clearly trying to slow Ren down.

Ren's eyes widened when his palm met with another force. He didn't recognize it before, but now there was an electrified barrier protecting Lina from physical damage.
Ren saw the movement of her arms and hands. He deflected the sweep attack with his other chakra palm, causing the staff to bounce backwards as Ren shot himself backwards with chakra from his feet.
His Byakugan spotted a second barrier forming around them, it was clear this was going to be a hand to hand fight. The second barrier wasn't that large to be running around in.
"Oh yea!?"

She grinned at his comment.
"Of course"
The staff broke into two near even halves and Lina's stance changed. In her left she held the longer half, the right having the shorter half. She began a series of probing jabs into Ren's Defense with her right hand as she moved forward. Her left covering defense. In the middle of a jab from the right she suddenly shot forward with an upswing from the left with far more speed then she had used yet.

Ren was in a defensive mindset when Lina was moving towards him. He was paying attention to both of her hands. Ren knew that a key to fighting someone in hand to hand was to cause a distraction before striking.
s**t that was quick movement!
He underestimated Lina's attack speed and wasn't able to fully deflect the upswing from her pole. The attack hit Ren square on the head as he stumbled backwards.

Lina slid back and joined the staff back into the combined form. Against opponents with some skill distractions worked once and only once.
Her movements changed from the last time she had attacked with the staff. The metal staff was in constant motion, the jabs were just falling short and her swings were aiming for the Ren's hands.

Ren shook his head and regained focus on his opponent. He pulled out the third rock from his pocket and shifted it into a larger shuriken using both hands this time. While backing off from Lina's melee range, he spun the large shuriken around his hand before chucking it at her side.
Strangely it seemed he wasn't aiming to hit Lina with it.

She didn't even look as in one fluid motion she had produced one of the recovered kunai in her forward hand and thrown it at the shuriken. She wasn't sure if the attack was going to double back or cause some other effect but her mind wasn't going to take any chances.
She rushed forward, closing the distance back into melee range and launching a single handed jab with the staff, her barrier seemed to weaken as five-hundred thousand volts was pushed into the staff as it neared Ren.
