A shiver passed through her as he felt his hand upon her. She was ready for the rejection. Her heart was open and bleeding but she was sure she could take the final blow. Her chest beat wildly until his hand moved. W-what's going on? He traveled to her chin and she didn't resist as he lifted it with his hand. The grip on her chest clenched as they met, lips pressed together. She was shocked. No, beyond that. Her eyes opened wide before she pressed them shut and sunk into him.
She had been with other people before. She had kissed many a boy but never had she kiss a man. He was so different from the rest. Her heart swelled as she stood there, her balance wavering slightly.
She didn't care about the world any more. Only him.

What are you doing? She's almost ten years younger than you! She's your student! You'll lose your job! You'll get arrested! You'll go to jail! What are you thinking?!
Those are the thoughts that would be typical. They were thoughts that would seem to be normal for Logan to be thinking at that moment. But they didn't even cross his mind.
His left hand lifted from his side and was placed lightly on her upper arm while his right hand remained lightly touching the bottom of her chin.
He kissed her for a few more moments before pulling away, slowly. His eyes opened so he could look at her. Somewhere in his mind, he knew what he had just done but he wouldn't let reality set in and ruin it. "Kendra," he spoke slowly, his hands not moving from her. "Despite my injuries, I've been happier than I have been in a long time. And I believe that much, if not all of that is because of you."
He paused, glancing down at the floor. "I....know that I can lose my job from doing this..." His voice trailed off and he couldn't say anything more.

She was burning up. She couldn't open her eyes until he started to speak, even though she felt him pull away. It was his voice that commanded her to look at him. She listened to him, his words making her feel light. When he feel silent it was bittersweet. They both knew what could happen from this going on. And though she never wanted it to end, she had to admit to herself that it was a huge risk for him to even think about taking. The best thing now was to forget what had just happened.
But she couldn't.
She cherished the moment too much, even though it had happened only moments before. Though she had all these thoughts there were only a few words she could bring herself to say.
They were faint and fragile, the very air around them threatening to crush her voice.
"I"m happy...,"

Logan stared at her. Slowly, a small smile came to the corners of his lips. "I'm...happy that you're happy..." he said simply. He didn't know what else to say.
He slowly took his hand away from her chin. He thought for a moment, his eyes fell to the floor once again. "You know....if we do this.....no one can know...." His eyes slowly lifted back up to her. "I know...it will be difficult but...I'm sure we're both in agreement that it would be even more difficult if we didn't."

She filled with happiness as she stood there. Her body shook as she tried to hold back the tears. She nodded her head quickly, the only way she could communicate without bursting into sobs.
She felt the salty joy slide down her face and she tried to ignore it. If she paid any attention to it her resolve would shatter and she wouldn't be able to stand. He was taking this well, she thought.
The mention of not going ahead... it tore her up. After saying everything that had been locked in her heart... she just couldn't see her life ever being right again.

Logan stared at her still. Why was this so difficult?
"How..do you want to do this?" he asked. "I can let you go back to your place...." He glanced to her door before looking back at her.
She was crying again. He didn't know what to do about it anymore. He felt bad but....he just looked away.

She smiled, her tears breaking through and falling to her chest. She laughed sightly as she stood there, shutting her eyes as she brushed the tears away.
"I'm sorry. I know I'm making this hard for you... I'm just happy..." She held her hands within each other as they hung at her waist. A smile persisted still, the tears drying before being replaced by a fresh set.
"I don't want to have you go home... you'll just think more than you will want. I don't see any other way though."
She thought about tomorrow. It would be Sunday, the last day of normalcy really. She looked up at him, smiling brightly through her tears.
"Can I take you to breakfast tomorrow?" she asked, her hand coming out and touching his arm.

Logan smiled slightly. "I just took you out tonight, though," he said. "Now you want to take me out?" He smiled again before shaking his head. "If you want to. It's my last day of freedom, I might as well enjoy it."
He glanced down the hall. It was empty. As usual. Not that it made a difference...
She was right, though, about him thinking too much. He knew he would. Even then, thoughts were popping up in his mind. What if scenarios. But he was pushing them back, for her sake.
He honestly didn't want to go home by himself either. But he wasn't going to say anything. He had already said enough.

Her smile grew at his response. So she could. That was great. She reached out with both hands and grasped his hand and brought it to her lips gently. She stared at it as she held it still, her words coming swiftly.
"It might be hard,... but... I think we can do it. I'm almost graduated and my grade in your class isn't one of someone who is paying for a grade. It might not be easy but with you here... I feel like I could do anything."
She was practically caressing his hand at this point. She wanted to bring him in, to hold him through the night. But that would be going too fast wouldn't it?
"My only request is... if you decide that it's too hard... or not worth it...," she looked up at him, her smile never faltering, "Let me down gently?"

Logan smiled at her, glancing down at his captive hand. "I would never let you down any other way," he said. "But I really don't think I could, anyway."
She was right about her graduation. She was a senior, after all, and the year was already part way over. All they had to do was make it through that year without anyone finding out. How hard could that be? The would just be mild 'friends' at school, if anything. And, since they lived right by each other, it would be suspicious to see them around each others homes. If, for some strange reason, she was ever caught leaving his house, he would just say he was helping her with her studies.
As long as no one got overly suspicious, it shouldn't be too bad, right?
"I think we can make it," he said after a moment. "We'll just have to be careful. And...I trust you."

"Good!" she said with a smile, "But... before I go... I... well... Its my turn."
She stood on her toes and kissed him before returning to her regular standing position. She gave a small wave before taking her key from her pocket.
"Good night then."
She took a step back but didn't turn away from him, not yet. She was afraid that this was all a dream.

Logan smiled at her. "Good night," he said, staring at her. He paused a moment before nodding his head slightly and turning. "I'll see you in the morning," he said over his shoulder as he walked back to his room. He pulled out his keys and opened the door to his apartment, walking in.
He looked around the decently sized apartment. To be honest, he could wait to get out of that place and back to work. But...then again, work would create complications. He stopped and leaned against the closed door. How was it all going to work out now....
A forbidden love. How cliche. He let out a sigh as his hand came up to his face. Everything had suddenly become so complicated. He was in a relationship...with his student? But he couldn't think of it that way. She was his girlfriend now...right? They hadn't really said. But...he just assumed. That's what it meant, right?
He let out a frustrated sigh before pushing himself away from the door. He would just sit down on his couch and watch TV...get his mind off of things...
((Feel free to time jump to...whenever...))

Kendra was half asleep when she stumbled into Logan's school room. Perhaps it was all of the times she had fallen asleep during that class that made her instantly become sleepier than she already was. She dumped her things on one of the lab tables and sat on the stool, leaning over onto the table top and resting her head on her folded arms. The sweet embrace of sleep pulled on her, taking her deeper into the depths of her mind. It was so early, all she wanted to do was go back to bed.
She had this entire year planned out and the work already done with certain questions wrong just to make it look like she hadn't been paying attention in class or something like that.

Logan walked into his classroom just after Kendra, having opened the door for her. He looked around and took in the scene. It seemed so familiar yet so foreign. He hadn't been there to work in so long. He looked at the walls. Some student projects were hung up there that he hadn't recognized. He took in a deep breath, taking in the scent before walking to his desk. His eyes fell on Kendra who was sitting at one of the lab seats. He was going to tell her to feel free to take a nap, that he would wake her when classes started, but she seemed like she was already out of it. So he kept quiet. He didn't want to disturb her.
He took a seat at his desk, taking in the familiar feeling of it. He placed his hands on the desk before looking down. There was a piece of paper on his desk with the words 'Welcome Back Mr. Sykes!' on it with the signatures of all of his students. He smiled. He students were so supportive.
He glanced up at the clock before pulling out some of his binders and paperwork. He placed his papers out on his desk, arranging things around. Once it was all up on the desk, he stopped and stared at it all. He could feel a fluttering in his stomach. He was nervous. Why was he nervous? He was never nervous on the first day of school. Well, maybe except for his first day of teaching. But...maybe it was because he was afraid he wouldn't be able to get back into the flow of things. Maybe he was afraid his injuries, mainly his eye, would get in his way. Maybe he was afraid that something might happen between him and Kendra. He just didn't know...

Kendra pulled up her head to look at Logan. Going to sleep now would only make her more tired. Talking with her... boyfriend? Eh, talking with him would probably keep her from falling asleep. As she watched him though it was like he was in his own little world... arguing with himself.
It was kind of amusing but at the same time worrisome. She knew he had to be over thinking something and his whole posture was tense. Most people would chalk it up to his injuries but he had seen him and this was it.
"Whats wrong?" she asked him from her seat, her chin resting on her forearms.
