Cuire Shook his head, folding Kliment's hand back up. "The cost for staying here isn't any money.. It's a flower.. " He didn't know why, but just the thought of getting a flower from Kliment made him blush lightly, but he shook it off as himself being a romantic.

"Do you have a flower..? If not, you can pick one from my garden..."

"A flower?"

It struck him as odd - well, it probably would have struck a lot of people as odd - but judging by the boy's honest, gentle demeanor, he wasn't about to doubt him. A flower, eh? It was a shame he hadn't gone and picked on of those roses when he'd fallen into the rose bush. If he remembered correctly, they were very strange-looking; had he ever seen black roses before that?

Sighing and, in the process, looking unintentionally melancholy, Kliment quickly patted himself down in search of something remotely close to a flower. Nothing. Returning the coins to their pocket, he was about ready to ask where the garden was, when a flick of his tail brought something to his attention.

The corner of his mouth lifted in a grateful smirk. "Well, I'll be damned."

Reached back, he produced a single black rose, having clung to his tail and remained faithfully with him the entire day.

Careful to avoid pricking his own fingers with the thorns, he held it up to Cuire, smiling slightly.

"For you," he said quietly, feeling at once awkward. It wasn't every day he gave a guy a flower...

Cuire watched with a slightly worried expression as Kliment felt all over himself in search for a flower. If the other had to go into his garden, he didn't mind, but the little twilf didn't want the other to hurt himself because of his brother's rule.

When the other spoke softly, he began to smile, knowing that he had found a flower, and when he was offered the black rose, he blushed a brilliant and vibrant red color.

"T-thank you.. " He whispered, carefully taking the flower into his hands and dashing into the inn for a moment, to place it in the vase, then ran back outside, offering Kliment a hand, still blushing. "I-I'll take you to your room.."

A brow raised sharply at the other's sudden blush; he'd never seen someone get that red, which only helped in making him feel even more awkward, like he'd done something... romantic. Running a hand over his jaw, he searched the dark path for anything else to look at.

When Cuire returned, he shook his head at his outstretched hand, looking up sincerely. "I can walk now, thank you," he mumbled, ignoring the sharp pain in his knee as he slowly made his way toward the door. Hoping to keep at least some of his pride intact was his aim, but he still needed to be shown to his room.

Hunh, he thought, leaning a shoulder against the wall next to the door. What an odd place.

Cuire looked down sadly as Kliment declined his offer.. "But.. You're still hurting.." He whispered, more to himself than to the other twilf and followed him to the door way.

"Your room is next to the one where I stay when I'm too tired to make it to my home.. It has a black rose on the door.." He spoke softly, looking down. and playing with his basket. "It's on the second floor.. Can you make it up the stairs on your own..?"

Zahara drifted in the star light. She really preferred the sun but... any celestial light could calm her relatively well. She had heard that the mist twilif... or rather Constellation now I suppose... Noel; he had started an inn near the lake.

"Such a lovely idea..." She mused softly, aloud.

Azra'iel, her ...sometime-companion she supposed, had told her that Noel carried much pain in his heart; Zahara hated the thought of any creature being in pain. She hoped to come and bring a little brightness into the innkeeper's heart. One did not open an inn unless one liked people, so helping to fill his inn would likely make him smile. She hadn't intended to arrive so late, but she had been distracted by the wishes of some young souls.

Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight...

Zahara stopped suddenly, floating within sight of the inn. She was sure she had heard the mantra that commonly preceded wishes she attempted to grant. But... she had physically heard it, with her ears: not felt it deep in her heart, as a wish would feel. Her suddenly sharp gaze swept the soft darkness of the evening and Zahara was surprised to hear such an innocent rhyme being twisted by a bitterly muttering twilif on the shore of the lake. She drifted silently behind the little one, landing lightly in time to hear her finish with ...wishes are for rabbit twilifs and those who don't know any better.

Tilting her head slightly, Zahara replied gently, hoping she did not frighten the little twilif too much... but she could not stand to ignore the poor thing who radiated such discontent. "Wishes are for any who choose to believe they will be granted, little one. They are only limited by the darkness in the heart. And you, I think, are too young to have so much darkness within you... why do you corrupt my calling card so?"

Chiaki gasped, not having heard the... 'constellation? Must be...' arrive behind her.

She lifted a brow as the words sunk in. "Corrupt your calling card?" Chiaki whirled, clutching her lantern tightly. "What would you know about darkness, anyway?"

Surprised by the defensiveness of the twilif's reaction, Zahara took a step back to size her up. She did not like the pain she sensed in the other, but she would not allow disrespect either. Noticing the shattered lantern that the little one clutched, Zahara slightly quirked an elegant brow. She drew on the power of the starlight and rising moon to wrap a noticeable aura around herself, dousing the sassy reaction in a coolly musical voice.

"I am the Radiance of the Skies. I know that it is difficult to find the way through darkness without a guiding light. As for my calling card... the rhyme you mock is what most Earthens use to call upon my assistance. Do not ever underestimate the power words have, young one."

Drawing the light energy into herself, Zahara sighed and offered a hand, palm up to the twilif. "Come little one, it is chilly here by the water and there is a perfect friendly looking inn sitting there waiting for guests to grace her halls."

Chiaki sighed, staring at the palm the constellation held out. 'Why do these people always try to be friendly?' From Asako to now this constellation... it seemed like the harder she pushed, the harder they pushed back. 'Are they idiots?'

"Without a guiding light, eh?" she muttered, somewhat intimidated by the aura around the constellation.

Clutching her lantern tightly to her chest with one hand, she hesitantly reached out with the other. "Words only have power so long as the person who speaks them remains," she could help but sass back. "But fine, let's go. It's noisy in there, though."

Noel's eyes slowly fluttered open, and he sat up, stretching slightly and unraveling his tail around him.. Passhon had taken special precautions to make him comfortable, and it made him smile a sweet smile.. He did needed a rest, and that was the best sleep he had in such a long time..

Standing, he went into the kitchen, pulling out a small, sweet tea cake for Passhon, placing it on his pillow as a thank you. He then floated over to his room, washing his face and cleaning himself up. Afterwards, he made his way back down stairs. In his vase was a black rose, and another kind smile adorned his delicate features once more, knowing that the rose belonged to the first guest that Cuire brought in.

Gliding past the lobby after observing the vase, he began to clean up the dining room, as most guests had retreated to their sleeping quarters for the night. A few guests lingered, but he did he best not to bother them, and re-entered the kitchen, tying up his sleeves and setting off to work. He listened for the bell to chime if a guest entered.

Stifling a giggle at the twilif's sour response, Zahara carefully took her hand and squeezed lightly, imparting a little of the starlight she had just absorbed before leading up the path towards the merrily glowing windows. The setting was lovely and the inn itself was absolutely precious. Zahara felt her mood lifting just getting closer to the retreat. She felt badly for pulling rank on the little one who was walking next to her, brooding and shivering slightly. As they neared the door, Zahara laid out a peace offering. "I am known as Zahara, little one." She stopped and looked down slightly with a smile dancing in her eyes. "I am also usually in a much better temper. What is your name? What brought you to the lake?"

Zahara was pretty sure the twilif would not appreciate the small talk, but her good humor was returning and trying to socialize with the little one was making her even more sullen... which was kind of amusing.

Chiaki narrowed her eyes at Zahara. "Don't call me that... 'little one'. I'm-" here she stopped. 'Damn!' The constellation had backed her into a corner. She didn't like to give out her name... but if she didn't give her name, Zahara would keep calling her 'little one', of that Chiaki was certain.

"Chiaki," she muttered, seeing no way around the response. "And it doesn't matter why I ended up at the lake. I'm not there now."

As they entered, Chiaki realized the constellation didn't have a flower... 'Maybe the innkeeper will ask her to leave!' she thought spitefully, taking small consolation in that.

Zahara was rather proud of herself for not laughing outright at how annoyed the twilif sounded.

"Chiaki, is it? That was not so difficult to share was it littl--- ooh, I mean Chiaki. Well, let us go in and see if Noel is still awake."

Laying a hand on the twilif's head, Zahara determinedly did NOT look down to see Chiaki react to her...slip, and instead opened the door; stepping into the welcoming foyer of Noel's inn. She had only met him once, when he was still a twilif; but she vaguely remembered a gentle heart and eager to please attitude. She simply hoped he remained friendly when dragged out of bed so late at night!

Noel heard the bell ring and quickly straightened himself up, drying his hands on a towel and running through the inn to the front. There he spotted a constellation he vaguely recognized, then a twilf that he vaguely recognized as well. Hello, weary travelers. Welcome to my inn. May I ask, what brings you here in the dead of night?

Chiaki stiffened, biting her lip to keep from pitching a fit.
'She's trying to rile you up,' she reminded herself. 'She has to be!'
...
That didn't mean she liked putting up with it. But the constellation seemed powerful... and it wasn't like she was going to get there any time soon...

"I'm just going up to my room," she bit out to the innkeeper, feeling slightly bad for taking out her frustration toward Zahara on him. "Have you seen my... um, co-traveler? She's a small orange-ish rabbit twilif. She gave you those huge orange flowers."

She spun, looking at Zahara with a smirk on her face. "Oh, you don't have a flower, do you? That's what it costs to stay here."
