Hello there. I'm Trowa (Vince in real life), your friendly neighbourhood newbie. I literally just joined the guild, so I'm as green as can be. I'm working on a profile as we speak, and will be sure to put it up as soon as I'm done. Meanwhile, I must ask if my zanpaku-tou's Shikai form will fly. It's effectively a blatant ripoff of Squall's "Revolver" gunblade, from Final Fantasy VIII. The link back there takes you to the Final Fantasy Wiki's article on the weapon in question.

We don't accept blatant ripoffs here, but if you want to take its basic abilities and alter them into your own, we can accept that more easily. You can even keep the whole concept of a "gun-in-a-sword" and change only its usage in a great number of ways. Plus, while I don't know much about FF... If it's just the sword with a gun in it and nothing further, you might actually have an underpowered weapon in here!

It appears I don't know the right definition of a blatant ripoff. I was intending to do something more along the lines of your suggestion. Nevertheless, I'll tweak it around a bit more to see how I can make it less underpowered.

On a side note, I don't think I've ever spent this long designing a character. After several hours, I only have a name and a zanpaku-tou worked out. And that's with my lazy omission of a Bankai. O.O
I'm actually researching pretty heavily, which is a rarity.

Excellent to see that you're really working on your profile, we look for that here. You don't really need a Bankai when you start so... the laziness is okay. xD
I haven't even fleshed out my own abilities as much as I should have yet...

It's nice to meet you all.
I think I'm finally in the home stretch of character creation. The only sections I have yet to complete are the skills, abilities, biography, and powers. If all goes well, I should be able to apply to a squad tomorrow. I can't wait to join in on the fun!
I must say, though, it was tough to come up with a good hairstyle. I ended up settling on a very unlikely source: a picture of David Bowie. XD
