It was so quiet... of course far more fighters than what normally went were gone, even though it was like that last time, Miyu still wasn't use to it. Well that and everyone else had grown up too, but she should be use to that.

She enjoyed simply chatting, there was a lot of catch up on of course.

"Is there anyone we could visit?" she asked softly after all the catching up was done.

She wasn't sure, she stayed on Haven, but didn't know the other places too well, well... except Ulrich and Ulani and she hadn't seen them in a while.

Aragost smiled warmly down at Miyu, directing his face towards her voice.

"There is always the valley," he suggested softly. "You have not seen Ulani and Ulrich in many, many years ... I am certain that they would be happy to receive another visit from you."

He paused. "And also," he added, "I did say that I would take you to visit Rhea ... she is about your age now. I am sure you two would get along very well."

She had forgotten about that, and she hadn't seen Rhea since Rhea was also little. At least from what she heard Rhea wasn't little anymore, they were very close in age still.

Which in itself was a miracle.

She smiled at this and nodded, "That would be fun, Rhea was little like me the last time I saw her."

Aragost smiled and began to lead Miyu towards the trees. "And now she is very tall," he said softly. "Very tall indeed ... quite a bit taller than her mother, though not quite as tall as her father."

Which was still saying something, since Adonai was one of the tallest elves in the Borderlands.

Miyu had to think about that, even though she had seen Adonai often enough, she didn't really know him.

"That's really tall," she finally replied.

Much taller than her daddy that was for certain.

"But compared to back home everyone here is really tall."

"Everyone here at the ranch, or in the Borderlands," Aragost corrected Miyu gently, "but not everyone of this world. You have not seen the humans of this world ... they are not much different from your grandfather. We are a tall race, that is all."

Lin had not seen an Ardan human before either ... and he could not help but wonder how she would react when she encountered them on their hunt.

Miyu blinked, and realized she hadn't thought of that, of course to her different races wasn't an unusual thing. So of course there were humans....

"Really? How much like Grandpa are they?"

Like she knew the two worlds were different, she knew there were gifts and you couldn't learn different magicks, she knew there weren't any alignments like back home.... but otherwise it was almost the same, but without a lot of the technology.

Which was just fine with her.

Aragost had to think about that for a moment. "Similar enough," he said softly after a brief pause. "They are mortal, they vary in height and appearance ... though they average about your brother, Triton's, height ... they have many different occupations, and a good many of them work hard to support themselves and their families. For the most part, they are good people ... they have good hearts. Yes, there are a number of them who are bad people, like the slavers, who place gold above all else ... but they are a scarce lot."

And growing scarcer since the creation of the ranch.

Miyu had to admit it sounded just like home to her. There were good people and bad people and the humans were the most diverse of all the races (almost sometimes she had to wonder seeing the amount of races back home). Otherwise though it sounded like home.

"It sounds like home," Miyu murmured, "Not too different."

Aragost smiled within the confines of his cowl, and said in a very soft voice, "I'm sure it is not. I think that perhaps we here are the ranch tend to give the humans of our world a negative reputation ... but we do not have much experience, either, with the good kind. After all, this entire ranch was created in response to those who need to be stopped."

It just made sense, then, that the bad humans were the ones who would be constantly talked about, and not the good ones.

That was a good point, she had never heard a good thing said about a human... unless it was he grandfather or Lin.. or someone from her family in general.

"Hmm....." Miyu looked thoughtful, "Yami-san what other races are here?"

She had never asked before, and never really thought of.

Aragost had to think about that for a moment. There were so many ways he could answer that question ...

"Here, as in this area?" he asked softly. "Or in the Four Lands? Or the entire world? It varies ... and they are all very different."

She had always thought the Four Lands was the entire world, but then again Lin did always talk about sailing and seeing what was out there. Miyu looked thoughtful again, well they always referred to Gaia as the whole world, and that was their world so...

"The entire world," she finally replied.

Aragost chuckled softly. She did have the curiosity of the Winters after all ... her entire life was not of fear. He was glad - for her sake.

"Well," he murmured, "let me begin with the Four Lands ... since that is after all where you spend your time. There are the elves, which of course you know, and the humans ... and I am not certain how much you know about the dwarfs ..."

"I think I heard Grandpa mention them, but I didn't know what he was talking about," Miyu murmured thoughtfully.

Of course when her father had gone she hadn't been born yet, so she had no idea how much some of her family members came to know about that race, and she never heard about them in Gaia, though she didn't doubt there were probably dwarfs too there.
