There were delicious aromas coming from the direction of the dining room and kitchen, as well as the very soft sound of a soft elven voice singing quietly.
Serenity giggled and reached over to push Gaunt's shoulder playfully. "Only a fool thinks it's useless," she grinned. "You're no fool. Love is one of the greatest emotions, and in my opinion, the most important one there is. Without love, where would the world be? Full of hatred, destruction ... love is far from foolish."
She came around the bed and slipped her arms around Gaunt's waist, holding him close. "And since you're my love," she added, her eyes sparkling brightly, "that means that you are no fool."

Prince slowly opened the door to the dining room, and if need be, the kitchen as he smelled the scent of cooking and heard the singing. It was entrancing both ways. It smelled so good, and it was beautiful singing as well. Once he finally reached the destination, he merely stared up in awe.
Gaunt laughs softly and he let his hands slip under her arms and return the hold around the waist, gazing warmly into her eyes. "Mmmn. I love you too, Serenity." He smiles softly and he leans forward, placing a slow but deep kiss on her lips for several seconds. "Mmn. Yes, I am definitely not a fool for loving you. In fact, I'm the luckiest man alive."

Haradhel was working in the kitchen, singing softly to herself, a song she had learned during her childhood, simple and yet fun. She was standing in front of a stone stove, under which a hot fire was burning, stirring a simmering pot, which was the source of the wonderful smell.
She had heard Prince's arrival, of course, but she had to keep her eye on the breakfast that she was preparing, and so she couldn't look over at him.
"Good morning," she said warmly, still focused on the pot. "I hope you slept well."
Serenity returned the kiss warmly, smiling brightly at the man who was indeed more than a mere boyfriend - her suitor. "And in response to your question of last week," she giggled in reply, "I believe that I am indeed the luckiest woman alive."
She kissed him again, quickly this time, and then slipped out of his arms and headed towards the door. "Come on," she giggled again softly. "Ian needs to keep sleeping or he's going to be a bear later on."

Prince nodded and he smiled happily, as he moved a little to the side so that he woudln't be standing in the way of the door. "I sure did! Your beds are really comfy! It took Gaunt promising me a really yummy breakfast to get me out of it!"
Gaunt smiles softly, and he chuckles softly. "Then I can only conclude that we're the luckiest, and therefore the happiest couple in the world. I wonder where our trophy is." He laughs softly and he grins at her, following at her side after they get through the door and start heading downstairs. "Alright, I can't imagine Ian being a bear, but alright."

Haradhel laughed softly. "I'm honoured that you think so," she smiled warmly, still stirring the pot. "And I can only hope that my breakfast is as good as you've been promised."
She lifted the ladle and sniffed for a moment, then turned to Prince and held it out, holding one hand underneath it. "Take a whiff," she winked at him. "Let me know if you think it smells good enough."
Serenity giggled and squeezed Gaunt's hand tightly. "If we are indeed the luckiest and happiest, and if this goes where I am at the moment hoping it does, then let us say that our trophy lies at the end of our dating road."
By which she meant to say, if they married.

Prince nodded and he smiles happily at at Haradhel. "Well I followed the smell and the sound of you singing to find you here! Your singing is really pretty, Haradhel!" He smiles and he lowers his head to sniff what Hardhel was making, and turned another beaming smile her way. "It smells wonderful!"
Gaunt laughs softly and he squeezes her band in return, smiling warmly at her. "Which begs the question, I wonder how long we will continue to walk the dating road and set our sights on something else. I know it's still early in our relationship and we shouldn't rush our decisions.. but I already find myself wanting to live with you.. share my life with you.."

Haradhel laughed softly and returned the ladle to the pot, stirring once again.
"You're such a sweet boy," she beamed down at him, her dark eyes sparkling brightly. "Your father must be a very good man indeed to have raised such a boy as you are!"
She ruffled his hair lightly. "Very princely indeed."
Serenity blushed softly as she led him towards the stairs. "Well ... to be fair," she reminded him, "I am a Second ... and everything about our race is fast. Growing, learning ... in two years of school, I learned everything that you probably used ten or twelve years to learn. It's not that I'm particularly smart or anything, it's just that we Seconds absorb information like sponges. So ... I guess what I mean is ... while I know this should be a decision that should take a very long time to make, and a lot of thought ... maybe it doesn't quite need to be."

Prince nodded and he smiled broadly up at the elven woman and he nods firmly. "Everybody says Gaunt is a good person too! And he tries his best to raise me up well!" Of course, he leaves out the shortcomings, like not being able to spend a lot of time with Prince during the weekdays, not being able to bring back much food, and the like.
Gaunt stopped when he heard her explain things to him. He tugged her hand and brought her back to him, gazing into her eyes in the dim light of the hallway. "Then.. if maybe it doesn't need to be something we need to pour a lot of time and thought into.. what is stopping us from declaring ourselves as married.. right here.. right now..?"

Haradhel smiled warmly at Prince. "It must be hard for him," she commented, "him still being in school and everything ... you're a very lucky fellow. I've heard about the kind of schools that are in your world ... my father didn't have near that much difficulty raising me, and he still sent me away."
She had overheard the conversation between Ian and Prince the night before, and she could understand why Prince felt the way he did - that he might be a burden to Gaunt. On the other hand, she wanted him to know how lucky he was, because though she hadn't been a true burden to her own father, he had shipped her off like property.
"He really loves you," she added with a soft smile. "I can tell."
Serenity blushed hotly and tried not to let herself be caught in his gaze.
"Gaunt," she whispered, "you're still in school ... I'm still in school ... we're at my uncle and aunt's house ... and you haven't even met my parents. They would kill us. All of them."
She kissed him softly, allowing herself only that much, though her heart was pounding in her chest so hard she was certain he had to be able to hear it - or even feel it.
"But if you want to consider that a proposal," she added in a murmur, smiling hopefully and blushing, "then you can consider us betrothed."

Prince nodded as he overheard what Haradhel had to say and he smiles a bit. "Ah.. alright.. Wow, if your dad sent you away.. then.. Gaunt must be trying really hard.. harder than I thought.." He nods and he smiles as she tells him that Gaunt loves him. "I.. I know. I love him too!"
Gaunt nods and he kisses her softly for a moment and he smiles softly, whispering. "You're right. I'm getting way ahead of myself." He chuckles softly, his voice light and teasing. "So as soon as we're done meeting your parents, then we can get married." He smiles and he kisses her again. "Alright.. then.. my fiancee.. lets go get ourselves some breakfast, shall we?"

Haradhel smiled warmly and tapped the ladle on the edge of the pot, then held one hand in front of the flames below the stove.
"And I'm sure he knows it," she grinned at Prince as the flames vanished instantly. She lifted the pot and brought it over to the counter, then reached up into a cupboard and pulled out several bowls and spoons.
"Would you be able to help me bring these to the dining room?" she asked Prince cheerfully. "It would save me a trip."
Serenity kissed Gaunt back, then laughed softly and kissed him again.
"We both have to finish school first," she reminded him with a giggle. "Especially you."
She followed him down the stairs, so happy she felt as if she were floating.

Prince nodded and he held out his hands, smiling brightly up at Haradhel. "Alright, I'll help! I'll do whatever you need me to do!" He smiles, his eyes now full of awe. As far as he could tell, she used magic to extinguish the flames. He wanted to know magic..
Gaunt laughs softly and he nods. "Alright, it's a deal. We can be engaged for a few months until I graduate, then after I find a job and we decide where we'll live we can get married." He wasn't even aware that he was speaking in a way that people could overhear. He was too wrapped up in the prospect.

Haradhel grinned and handed the bowls carefully to Prince, then reached for the pot and picked it up as well.
"We need to bring this all to the dining room," she told him cheerfully, "so that when everyone comes in we'll be ready to eat."
She could hear the conversation that was slowly growing closer, but she didn't react to it.
Serenity didn't care who overheard them now. She was so happy she didn't know how she could hold it in anyways. Besides, there was nothing wrong with what they were saying - they were going to be married ...
"And maybe," she suggested shyly, her eyes sparkling brightly, "if my art is successful ... or if the clan needs someone to help manage things ... you could work with us. We all have a business of our own, more or less ..."
And of course, if that worked out all right, then he would be able to live there with them.

Prince nods, his ears unable to pick up the conversation quite so well as he holds the bowls with the silverware stacked inside the top bowl. "Alright~! ♫" He chirped as he headed for the door, backing into it so it would swing open against his flat back. When he turned around, he blinked as he saw Serenity and Gaunt being unusually happy, but didn't seem to know what to think.
Gaunt nods slowly and he smiles warmly, his fingers caressing hers as they continued to hold hands. "Mmm. That sounds like it would be wonderful. I could help you run art exhibitions, or help with any other businesses run on the grounds. Sounds like a deal." He smiles softly, his eyes returning the sparkling gaze.

Haradhel followed Prince to the dining room, chuckling softly when she saw the boy gawking at Serenity and Gaunt.
"Don't you worry," she winked at him. "They're just planning their future - and yours."
She set the pot on the table and began to stir it again. "Just set the plates down, that will be fine," she smiled at Prince. "And thank you very much for your help."
Serenity lifted Gaunt's hand to her lips and kissed the back of his hand warmly, allowing her lips to linger for a few moments as she gazed back at him, her eyes caught in his entrancing eyes.
"That would be perfect," she murmured, kissing his hand again.
