Minkishi looked at his mate and nodded "I'm so glad you're happy. And I'm happy as well. And I'm glad you're such a great mother." He let out a gentle sigh as Gris-Gris shouted "Look what I can do" for the hundredth time and blew stream of bubbles from her mouth, which she had taught herself that day.
Juju, with the bright blue eyes of her mother, let out a cry as the bubbles popped in her face and she quickly hid behind her parents. "I really have no idea what I'm doing..." Minkishi mumbled, looking at the shy fry clinging to their tails. He was still shy to his children, sometimes afraid to touch them thinking that they were too fragile to touch, but as their personalities bloom, he was starting to adapt into his fatherly role.

Bathory chuckles at Gris-Gris' excitedness, then tsks softly as Juju takes cover, twisting around to gather up the tiny fry into her hands before passing her over to her father, "Give your daughter a hug and let her know that it'll be okay... she just wants to know that we love her and will protect her." Kissing Minkishi's cheek, she turns towards Gris-Gris, "I know you're proud of your new talent, my dear, and we are proud of you for it. But please try not to scare your siblings, okay?"
Kashi swims over towards Minkishi to stare at him with his own eyes, grinning broadly, "Daddy, daddy! Come see the pretty shells we found! They're all different colors and shiny! Can we take them home with us?" Excited enough that she's practically vibrating, she darts back and forth gleefully.
Bishi, a little boy with his daddy's markings and mommy's coloring, approaches at a more sedate pace. Bathory scoops him up for a careful hug to his tiny body before setting him down next to his much more hyper sister, "Bishi, why don't you and Kashi show Gris-Gris the shells and daddy and I will be right behind the three of you?" The male fry nods and starts herding his hyper sisters towards the shells while Bathory smiles back at Minkishi and Juju, leaning in a little closer to whisper to their daughter, "Would you like to ride on daddy's shoulder until we get to the shells?"

Minkishi delicately held Juju in his arms. Her big eyes staring back at him. He sighed and patted her gently. “There. There. It’s okay…” Juju let a sniffle, making Minkishi tense as he wait for the fry to decide if she was going to cry or calm down. She chose the latter and snuggled up her father’s hold. She looked at her mother and gave a silent nodded. Minkishi blinked and slowly lifted the fry to her shoulders. “Hold tight.” He mumbled, feeling the fry tug at his hair tightly. He flinched by dealt with it, giving his mate a smile. “So sea shells…” He said, looking over at the rest of the family searching for the pretty shells.

Bathory smiles as he settles the fry on his shoulders, leaning in to brush a kiss against his cheek and murmur softly, "This is all they want from you, love. To know you love and protect them, to be interested in what they have to say and show you." With a smile for Juju, she takes Minkishi's hand and moves to follow after the frolicking children.
When they reach the shells, she looks to Juju, "Why don't you show daddy which is your favorite?" Squeezing Minkishi's hand lightly she moves towards the other children, crouching down carefully, "These -are- very pretty shells, my dears. Why don't you each pick out your favorite and we'll take them back home and hang them above your beds?"

Minkishi watched his mate as she moved to take care of the remaining kids. He glanced to his side at Juju and glided over to an area that had a good array of shells in the sand. He attempted to lift Juju from his shoulder but her grip refused to loose from his hair. “Alright then…” He sighed heavily and kneeled down in the sand. “Is there any that you really like?” Juju peered out from behind her father’s hair, blinked, and hide again. Minkishi realized she wasn’t going to cooperate. He picked up a faded blue shell and showed it to her. “I like this one. It reminds me of your pretty eyes.” Juju peered out again and gave a small nod in agreement. “So, you like this one too?” He felt her grip released from his hair and she swam down to his hand and snatch the shell and held it close to her. “I see… that’s good.”
Gris-gris was busy gathering every shell and stone she could find, making a giant pile. The grin on her face showed that she was pretty proud of herself. “Look how many I have!”

Bathory glances over at her mate and their daughter, smiling softly as he accomodates her. Turning back towards the others, she can't help but chuckle at Gris-Gris, moving over to give her a gentle hug, "That's a very big pile, sweetie! But can you choose just one to take home with you for right now? If we take them all, there won't be any left here for anyone else."
She smiles down at her before looking over to Bishi and Kashi, "And you two? How are your choices coming along? Bishi, why don't you show daddy and Juju what you picked out while I see to Kashi?"
Bishi gives a sedate nod, slowly and calmly swimming towards Minkishi and Juju with a pearlescent, sedate shell in one fin. He pauses just shy of the pair, peeking around towards his sister, "Can I show what I have and see what you picked, Juju?" So much like his father, hesitant and cautious almost to a fault.
Kashi, on the other hand, is darting all over the place, squealing over each new shell. "Ooooooo, that one is pretty! And that one too! And lookit THIS one!" Each new shell becoming her new favorite as Bathory watches over indulgently.

Minkishi smiled at his only son and watched as Juju eyed her brother before holding her’s out. “Pretty!” She exclaimed, yet softly. Juju got along best with Bishi, because of his tame behavior. The excitement from others often frightened her. Minkishi just gave a nod in agreement, looking at their shells.
Gris-Gris puffed out her cheeks when her mother encouraged her to only pick one. “But I Want ALLLLLL OF THEM!” She wailed, a tantrum slowly forming.
Minkishi gave a small cough, to interrupt the oncoming storm. “Perhaps… we can bring some to grandmother?” He suggested, in hopes the preventing the oncoming crying. With her cheeks still puffed out, Gris-Gris looked at her mother, waiting for her response to the suggestion before she decided to meltdown or not.
Minkishi looked back at Juju and Bishi. “She would like that very much, don’t you think?”

Bishi turns a slight smile onto Juju, nodding slowly, "Your shell is very pretty, sister. This is what I picked out.." he extends his own shell out towards her, turning it slowly so she can see the subtle play of colors along its inside.
Bathory bites back a chuckle over Gris-Gris' growing tantrum, glancing over to Minkishi and giving a subtle nod of approval over his intervention before looking back to their little girl, "I think that is a wonderful idea. Why don't you pick out the one you like the best for yourself and we can take the others to give to grandma? She'll be so happy to see you and I know she'll love your presents."
Kashi flits from shell to shell, finally settling on one that's a sparkly sort of pink/yellow, snatching it up and darting around, waving it about, "I GOT MINE!!!" Flitting over towards Gris-Gris to bump her sister playfully, "C'mooooooooon, grandma should get some shells too! Plus it means we get to go visit her! Grandma visit!!"
Bishi looks up at his father and gives a sedate nod, "I agree. I would like very much to go visit Grandma." He looks towards Juju and smiles encouragingly, "We can swim together, Juju, I'll protect you."

Gris-Gris let out a puff of air and instantly calmed down. "Okay!" She cooed, looking over the shells to figure which one she would keep. She picked a spotted on before trying to gather as many shells as she could to give to grandma Ouija. She dropped the shells when Kashi bumped her. "Watch it! These are for grandma!" She stuck a tongue out at her and began to pick them up again.
Juju smiled at her brother and nuzzled up to him, taking his fin in hers. "Okay. Let's got find some shells for Grandma." Minkishi smiled and patted both of them on the head before Juju nudged her brother to go search for shells. Minkishi sighed and swam back over to Bathory, smiling at her and taking her hand.

Kashi giggles and rushes over to leave her shell with their mother before going back over to help Gris-Gris pick out shells for Grandma from the large pile. Teasing and playing with Gris-Gris the whole while, of course.
Bishi slips his fin into his sister's and smiles at her dotingly, "Lead the way, little sister, and I shall follow." He spares a smile for their father before the pair are swimming off to collect shells as well.
Bathory lets out a small held breath and chuckles softly at their children picking over the shells. She returns Minkishi's smile, her fingers twining around his as she lays her head on his shoulder, "You handled that very well, love." Glancing up at him, she gives him a soft kiss, "Thank you. You've made my every dream come true, Minkishi."

“I have a great teacher.” Minkish told her, giving her a small kiss on the top of her head before returning his eyes to the children.
“Bishi, over there.” Juju said, tugging at her brother until the reached the sight she saw. It was bumpy shell with cream colors. “It reminds me of Grandma.” She picked it up and showed it to him. “Don’t you think?”
Gris-Gris, balancing as many shells as she could in her little fins swam over to her parents. “I’m ready to go to Grandma’s now!” She called, leaving a tiny trail of shells behind her.

Bathory smiles at his compliment and kiss before looking to the children, leaning over to help pick up a few of the fallen shells from Gris-Gris' pile, "Okay, sweetie. Lets let your siblings gather their shells and we'll all head over."
Kashi isn't far behind her sister, bearing her own, smaller, pile of shells and broad grin, "I'm ready too!" It probably helps that she mostly just picked up the shells Gris-Gris dropped.
Bishi follows Juju's lead, going over to the shell and looking at it for a long moment before giving a somber nod, "It is perfect, Juju. You found a very good shell." He gives her a slight smile and starts steering her towards their parents so they can all get under way, making sure to run interference between his more shy sister and the two manic ones.

“I think we’re all ready to go then.” Minkishi told Bathory as all the children gather around them. He nudged Bathory and began to lead the way to his mother’s house.
Ouija probably hard the chattering children miles away, because she was already waiting for them by the door of the house. Gris-Gris raced past her family and was the first to reach Ouija.
“Grandma! Grandma!” yelled Gris-Gris, her shell pile diminished in size from their walk. “We went to the beach and found all these pretty shells! I found the most!” Ouija kneeled down to the fry and held her hands out, and feeling the small pile Gris-Gris piled in her hand. “This one is my favorite.” Gris-Gris lifted it and held it close to Ouija’s face. Unfortunately, Ouija’s eyesight had finally given out on her before the hatching of the grandchildren and she had yet to see their true faces. But she still knew each child by its voice and movements and loved every single one of them. However, Gris-Gris still couldn’t comprehend her grandmother’s blindness. “They’re very lovely, Gris-Gris, and there’s so many.” Ouija said, stroking her fingertips over the shells.
“Mom said we can hang out favorites in our room! And Dad suggest you would like some, so I brought you many!” Gris-Gris yelled, waving her fins and grinning big. “That was very kind of you.” Ouija said, petting Gris-Gris’s head.
