{*wishes Younger!Soren were on... for strategic pwnage.*}

"Does anyone have any ideas on how we're going to break in?" asked Sue. "I'd like to end this quickly, so we can have a real party... I really wanted to show my talents for the Host Club, Rhys initiated me..."

"We all want to rescue Nino and celebrate Christmas, Sue. However, we can't go rush in without a plan." Isadora replied. She then looked into her cup with a long sad look.

"Besides, we don't know much about our enemy. He may or may not be this ancient king who had disappeared for a long time. And in addition, we don't know where those monsters came from.

These monsters don't suddenly appear out of nowhere. If these monsters were normal, our gaurds would have spotted them from afar. But they appeared out of nowhere. So our enemy may be a Sage or a Summoner. Either way, we need to know who is our enemy more in order to find his weakness."

"Ah, you're right about that." Sue nodded. It made sense to gather information, but truly, much like the dealings with the morphs, they couldn't take too much time. The clock seemed to always be ticking...

Victoria who had listened in on them stared at the nomad and the Paladin. "So far... me and my fellow Holy One Rhys have found nothing about him in the libarary. Although there are still quite a few books we have yet to search through."

"What is it that you've found?" Isadora questioned. Even if the information was small or mostly common, it was better than not knowing anything.

"I've said it before..." Victoria sighed. "We've found nothing, no matter how hard we look. However, I have looked at all the journals the Lords have kept of their previous adventures. Their descriptions of Sage's powers and his powers are very similar. However, due to him calling up an ice storm, I'd say he's reached the level of Archsage even." Victoria explained.

"An... Archsage? Like Lord Athos?" Sue quivered. She never met Athos before, but her father did once. She said he was kind, wise, but at the same time, fearsome in magical strength.

{I think I might have just saved my post from an edit. XD}

"Yes, and this mean that he can use any form of magic he wants." Isadora answered Sue's question.

Taking a sip from her cocoa, she turned her attention to the bishop. "Sister Victoria, do these journals explains about this sage's background besides his power?"

"The Lords never wrote on him in particular, but as you know.. all of us are born with arcane gifts." Victoria blinked as she explained. "Those of us who aren't... just can't use magic. This one in particular caught my eye. One who raised his magical power beyond a normal capacity... it ate his very soul..."

"Who?" Sue asked her, now more frightened than ever.

"Nergal, I'm sure you've heard of him. He was the first of the Dark Druids to ever emerge... Madriana recorded the second. Nergal... was not a normal case for a caster, Lady Sue, Lady Isadora. He purposely took in more magic than he was ever capable of, because all he desired was power. He lost his humanity completely. Now.. if this truly is the Lost King and he's lived this long... he must have done the same thing."

"He cast his soul away... for power." Sue once again shivered at the thought. Magic users weren't the only one who did this, she saw plenty of those who used normal weapons just like her, turn out this way. The mad King Zephiel was one of them...

Isadora remained quiet, letting the information sinked into her mind. What it true? Did this stranger sold his soul to gain more power?

"No..... I don't believe it." Isadora responded in a calm and obedient tone. "I don't think this..... king had sold his soul. If he did, we would have heard some unusual phenomenal throughout the land. However, the only strange things that happen was the time Wrathy Claus try to ruin our holiday and the time Madriana and her morphs took over.

This king...... he doesn't know he isn't in his time. He didn't even know that time has changed. He still thinks that he is still in his time period and not ours. I don't know what had happened to him or how he didn't realize that time has changed. However, what we know is that he's a powerful man."

"Frozen in time, yes, that's another theory that I first had. Since I've seen no journal entries by any of the Lords about it, I have nothing to compare it to." Victoria explained. "What might have happened was... he was the one whom was cast against."

"A fight between sages then." Sue nodded. "He must have lost if he somehow forgot everything... perhaps he was sealed for some time. I can't imagine it... being so hopelessly trapped. If he were a King, what happened to his knights..? War could have claimed some of them, but not all..."

Anna cried out, then managed to get up from the bed long enough to limp over to Soren and pull at his arm. "Hey! Close that!" she exclaimed. "There's nobody out there anymore, Soren, and the girl that was is like me. . ." She'd heard the voice too, and she recognized it from having heard it more than once; someone else who didn't technically exist in this place. But, she had to worry about the mage. "You're gonna get sick, Soren!"

"There's. . . someone else." A voice spoke up quietly from a corner, Renault having been resting there for a while unnoticed. "I personally did not arrive in time to witness this sage; however, what I WAS able to witness was the arrival of another magic-user." He paused for a moment, then searched the room, his eyes pausing on Rhys for a moment. "I would imagine the priest here felt it as well - a horrible, overwhelming dark presence, powerful enough to cause an explosion of pain in my head so intense that I was unable to move. So you may wish to include this in your calculations."

[I'm gonna use magic B support power and say Tristai came in with Victoria. Because it seems unbelievable to me at this point that she would be able to come through the blizzard.]

"I was under the assumption that it was the Mogalls creating the dark sense... I've fought plenty of those before, and it really jars you to get hit with their gaze." While she had gone unnoticed, Tristai had come in soon after Victoria, common sense regulating that she needed to go somewhere indoors. She felt horrid for her poor horse, but it couldn't be helped. She supposed the poor thing was warmer now, at least.

"It's like someone ripped open the door to the Tower of Valni and all the critters are running amok through FEF Castle."

"They could have released them from the Lagdou Ruins."
