She is, of course, distracted by the garden. The radiant colors of the flower petals beautifully complimented the vibrant and dark shades of green from the surrounding foliage. Nonetheless, once they found themselves at the base of the door, Naelonni did not even pause at her brother's words. Instead she slips right passed him, her small fingers gripping the metal knocker adorning the door. "Ooh, it's heavy." She tells him with a girlish smile as she gives it a couple good pounds.

A faint smile curves her lips at her teacher's shift in tone and Aerith turns away to hide it. Although she knows the Kae'dryn will undoubtably see every movement she makes, she has never been able to break those little shy habits. Thankfully, the rapping upon the door jumps in to save her from the silliness of her actions. "That must be them," she tells the older woman. Sealing the lid of her more recent addition, she places the jar back in its rightful spot on the shelf. "I'll get it. Do you wish to meet us in the study for introductions?"

"Mmm, I do, indeed. Worry not about the rest of our bounty from the marketplace, however... perhaps that will serve as a good excuse for a 'tour' of our new guests' home, yes?" With that said, the sorceress shifted her teacup from the delicate balance-point atop the tips of her nails to a more sturdily carried position in her right hand, before gliding silently past Aerith, the fingers of her left hand offering a ghost-like brush across her cheek of approval before she vanished out of the kitchen and up the stairs in a faint cloud of tea-steam and silken musk.

He looks down at his sister and smiles lovingly, taking his hand out of his pocket. He places his hand on her head and starts mussing up her hair, "I hope you remember to keep me in line between your daydreams. You know how prone I am to falling asleep when things get boring."

With the faint touch of approval, the faint smile that had curved her lips before now moves into Aerith's heart. The Kae'dryn was a powerful, ancient creature. She demanded much of her students, and praise was a rarity at best. Such small displays of approval had come to mean alot to Aerith.

As instructed, she left the remaining packages untouched upon the counter and headed back into the main room towards the door. Pressing her palm against the wood, Aerith sends the mental commands needed to release any alarms from sounding before shifting her hand to the large handle. The door opens, revealing to the pair the young, azure haired elven lass who, unbeknownst to them, will be handling the majority of their training.

"Good evening," she tells them politely, "You must be the new younglings. My name is Aerith. I am Kae'dryn Ishtarelm's lead apprentice."

Scrunching up her nose, she ducks away from the hair tussle. "Stop that." She tells him, batting his hand away. She runs her fingers through her hair to gently guide her locks back into place. "I don't think you'll get as bored here. This isn't like our other lessons. It will just be the two of us. There won't be other students there to distract the school mistress while you doze off." She teases him back.

The sound of the large door clicking open catches her attention, and she quickly pats down her hair and straightens her posture. Naelonni brightens at the sight of the young lady so close to their own age. Perhaps they will not be entirely on their own after all.

"Good evening, Miss Aerith." She replies with a faint curtsie. "I'm Naelonni Dalearin, and this is my brother, Heron." She gives him a faint nudge.

Heron finds his mouth slightly agape when the young elven lass opens the doors. Oh man, he thought not only is she beautiful, but she's close to our age. Maybe I've got a chance with this one.

He is broken out of his daze by the nudge from his sister. He clears his throat and bows, his cyan hair coming untucked from behind his ears. "It is an honor to be here m'lady."

"As it should be," the young woman responds in a pleasant, but also faintly serious tone. Taking a step to the side, she motions for them to enter. Once they both have made it through, Aerith closes the door behind them, taking a moment to rearm the wards on the door through mental commands. To the two newcomers, it appears as if she pauses there with her hand against the door briefly with a mild look of concentration. Finished, she turns her attention back to them. "Follow me please," she tells them simply as she moves passed them and heads up the enormous spiral stairwell.

"When you meet the Kae'dryn, you will refer to her as Kae'dryn Ishtarelm. Anytime you address her, you would be wise to do so in that fashion. You may shorten it to Kae'dryn if needed, but never refer to her simply by name. You will behave with the utmost respect and humility, and never interupt her when she is talking." As she speaks, she guides them up the stairs and through a long hallway. They come to a pause outside of another set of double doors, these ones also extremely tall standing. She glances back at them, her expression very serious. "Do not think for a moment that just because your parents managed to get you here, that means that she is inclined to instruct you. The Kae'dryn may dismiss you at any time, or worse if she feels you so warrant it." Looking between the two of them, she hopes they understand that this is a warning more for their benefit than some kind of threat or scare tactic.

Having done all she can, Aerith turns back around and opens up both doors. Moving through it, she again side steps in order to allow them entry behind her.

"Kae'dryn Ishtarelm, may I present Naelonni and Heron Dalearin."

User ImageThe double-doors open into a room that, much like the rest of the tower they've seen thus far, seems to be much larger than the physical exterior of the structure should be able to contain. Within the room, organized quite specifically upon the well-worn stone floor, are rows upon rows of books, occasionally separated by a small book-stand, or a comfortable, though well-worn, looking chair or divan. The light in this room is exclusively provided by numerous lanterns adorning key spots along the walls, and capping the ends of the book-cases, a soft, gently flickering luminescence akin to a flame dancing within. Several more of those same lamps appear throughout the library, usually near those locations for reading, though no light issues from them. At the entrance, however, there are several chairs, a couple divans, and a large number of cushions scattered about a massive rug, creating something akin to a sitting area.

Settled in one of those divans, her robes arranged comfortably around her, relaxes the sorceress herself. Tea-cup balanced on the tips of her nails once more, those slanted eyes watch the approach of her newest apprentices, the light reflecting starkly off their burnished golden irises. As soon as they are close enough that she would not need to raise her voice, that soft, unusually-accented alto emerged once more, addressing all of them.

"My thanks, Aerith, for showing our newest guests here so quickly. Come, all of you. Sit, make yourself at least somewhat comfortable. I am certain there are quite a few things we need to address before I set you about your first duties, and I suppose that I should allow you a few questions, as well..."

User ImageShe absently follows the young woman as they are led away, her eyes everywhere but on their hostess. What a magnificent place this was! Their home was nothing like this. The decor was so archaic, it just reeked of old magic. Completely entranced by her surroundings, Naelonni bumps lightly into her brother when their guide comes to a halt. Surprised, she takes a step away and blinks faintly, refocusing long enough to realize that they have reached a door. Trying to pay more attention now, she listens to the solemn warning of their hostess, completely intrigued. 'Or worse, if you so warrant it.' Fascinating.

Once the doors have been opened, Naelonni follows the girl inside and once again her surroundings threaten to envelop her. So many books... Her eyes roll over shelf upon shelf, volume after volume before coming across the woman in robes that seemed to have been waiting for them. Focusing again, she listens to the greeting with her... almost... full attention. It is pleasant enough, and she smiles warmly before taking a seat across from the Kae'dryn.

"We are very excited to be here." She replies, not having any idea what kind of clever questions she should be asking.

User ImageHeron follows a few steps behind their hostess, taking an occasional glance at her bum as she walks. While she had their back turned to them he was grinning, knowing that he wasn't thinking properly, but enjoying it none the less. He half listens to her words figuring they had something to do with addressing the old crone properly, how to behave, how to sit and eat and blah blah blah.

He is again brought out if his enamored daze by Naelonni, who had bumped into him. He shoots a quick look at her, knowing that she had gotten distracted by the archaic surroundings. When the doors are opened before them he whistles in awe. He was curious as to how she managed to squeeze such a large room into a slender tower. He looks to her and straightens up, trying as hard as he can to make a good first impression.

He listens to her introduction and takes a seat next to his sister, he is the first to come up with a question, "As my sister says, we are quite elated. We know that very few get the opportunity to be taught by you, Kae'dryn Ishtarelm. We appreciate you taking your time to take us under your wing. Um...if I may ask, I am quite curious. This room seems a lot larger than the tower allows, is there a spacial enchantment in place, or perhaps a trick of the eye?"

Never mistake tears for sadness...

Eva nodded solemnly, leaneing back slightly on her heels, completely at ease. Cocking her head to the side, her eyes looked off in the distance as her mind summoned images of the breathtaking fight. She could still see the sweat on the soldiers faces, the smear of soot on a demolished wall...the images her magically enhanced sight had seen for only a moment but that had been long enough. Even when her mind had been preoccupied, all the sights of the battle had been gathered to view later.

"Johannes was the reason though what he was saying I could not know for that foul creature's roar and the screams of battle."

Which was true enough even if she had not been far from the village at the time.

"He was shouting something. I assume a spell for the effect it had on the thing. Not else did I see 'cept the Beasts' departure along with all its minions and the flight of the Angel."

Her voice took on an awed tone there even as she considered mentioning Uriel's prescence. Disregarding that thought, she shrugged then grinned lopsidedly.

"Must have made the beastie cry to have it turn tail so fast. Pity it won't be permanent, eh?"

...that will only bring you grief.

Hmm he though, She made no mention of another angel, or the fact that Lord Johannes was carrying an injured woman. I will pry a bit farther, but not too terribly much. He releases the young woman's hand and faces Eva, laying his right hand against the stock of his sword.

"What is your alliance Evalin S'karl? I have no recollection of seeing you amongst the ranks of the Iron Fist." His tone of voice and facial expression are in complete turnover; his eyes no longer displaying compassion and kindness, but caution and even a sense of danger.

User Image"Aah, so you noticed that? I am glad to be shown you have powers of observation beyond noticing how the anatomy of my elder apprentice is assembled, Lord Dalearin," Ishtarem murmured in reply, a faint hint of an impish smile crossing her features before they were disguised by her tea-cup. "It is no trick of the eye, I assure you. But, as you must have been the clever one in your class, to identify such an uncommon use of the Weave, instead allow me to ask a question: Is the spacial 'enchantment', as you call it, cast upon the room, or upon the tower itself? And, if you so dare to ponder, which would be the more difficult application of the Weave, altering the room, or altering the tower itself?"

The first and second question offered no discernable traces of mockery; instead, they seemed to have been put forth more as a gentle probe... though the probe was partially addressed to one of the other of the three apprentices present. A question of the depth of one's knowledge regarding the Weave, and it's limitations...

Heron blushes at the old teacher's insight to his wicked thoughts. Though when he is presented with the question he puts his hand to his chin. His brow furrows for a moment, but it isn't long until his eyes begin to flutter and he nods off. His head whips up suddenly, his eyes wide. I can't believe I just fell asleep in front of her. It hasn't even been five minutes since I sat down.

He looks her in the eyes and says apologetically, "My sincerest apologies Kae'dryn Ishtrarelm! I assure you that I was not bored by your question. I...well my sister and I...we have our own faults that, I assure you, we are trying our best to rid ourselves of."

He clears his throat and gives her his answer, "I believe that the distortion is being created on the tower itself. Also, I think the rooms would be more difficult to alter. Erm, because their are so many of them. I mean, there is only one tower but probably dozens of rooms in it. At least, that's what comes to my mind Kae'dryn Ishtarelm."
