Paul led them down the various pathways without further incident; everyone was too busy to notice the missing leader who was busy making his escape anyway.
They came down to a relatively small room, as relatively small as a room could be and contain both a small submarine and a running river big enough for the submarine to sail down very comfortably. It was, however, low of ceiling, even at the river it appeared. High-power spotlights provided high visibility, and it appeared that no one was around. They advanced slowly and very quietly to ensure this was true before sprinting (as best they could and drag Alexandrov with them) to the sub and getting in.
Once inside, Paul took a seat at the controls, put the key into something that almost resembled an ignition, and then started operating the vehicle. "Now that we're relatively safe, I guess it's only fair to explain.
"You already know who they were, so it's time to tell you who we are." The commandos who were wearing gas masks were taking them off. "This is a division of the United States Army. Very similar to the Green Berets, but... a little less open and apparent. Thank goodness we decided to pull in a few recruits this time around, too; we lost a man, a good man too." Paul paused, but didn't seem to be allowing it to bother him. "Anyway, that's what we got you for. To serve in the TEAM.
"I want to say right now that the name TEAM was not my idea," Paul added with a look of chagrin. "It stands for 'Terrorist Elimination, Assault, and Mediation.' Those are our jobs - bring down terrorist groups and make precise strikes against any number of other persons, nations or otherwise. Even occasionally diplomacy.
"Now you've kind of been forced up to this point; I'm not going to do that to you, since we don't have to anymore. I have to warn you that training is grueling and that once you're done you may be asked to do things you don't like. However, it most certainly pays the bills, and you'll most certainly get out a lot more. And... we really need you."
((I'd like you all to start thinking of some sort of device or weapon that you'd like to be especially yours. Thinking caps, go go go! If you need some help coming up with an idea from a very vague statement, go ahead and shoot me a PM and I'll help you out as I can.))

Lito shrugged. "I'm in," he said right away. "My government sent me here as a sign of good will to the American government, to experience what I could and share anything that the Philippines had to offer back. This sounds like a good opportunity to me."

Paul's face cracked into a grin. "That was altogether unnecessarily easy. Do be warned though that you won't exactly be able to personally report this back. I've had some paperwork running through the systems for weeks now and no one has gotten around to filing it and doing it and so forth so your government has no idea."
