As the captain, or so Dmitriy presumed was the captain, spoke, he paid close attention. Though he didn't enjoy raids or enjoy senseless murder, getting out of this ship would be fine enough a reason to leave. As the plan of attack was given, it seemed as if the whole room exploded into cheer and banter. But one thought entered Dmitriy's mind, if everyone left the ship itself would be defenseless. He decided maybe even though he wanted to exact his revenge, it would be best if he stayed behind.
His attention then went back to his book, Beowulf; it was set in old England, really old England. He was reading some more the old pages yellowed and stained from almost nonexistent use. The story was about a knight, valiant and true, who decides to help an old friend of his destroy a monster. It was a classic piece of literature, dealing with honor, loyalty. Values that Dmitriy thought this ship looked highly upon.
He had countless classics such as this one, shriveled and almost wiped off the face of the planet, since, they possessed values such as free thought or being honorable to morals rather than to a government. He had other such classics such as Catcher in the Rye, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Of Mice and Men, and countless others, though most of the classics were lost, to the government's evil desires to control everyone.
He sighed, standing as he walked to where he could deposit his half empty bowl of stew. He couldn't eat just yet; his appetite wasn't fully recovered from only eating half of what he just ate in one whole day. He placed his book down and placed his bowl, tray, and silverware where they needed to go, except for his knife which had fallen to the floor. He picked up his book and as he was about to leave, not realizing he had dropped his knife, he heard the conversation between a drunken man and the doctor of this ship. He tried not to listen but it seemed as though everyone was watching them. Then he saw the captain break it up obviously not wanting fighting on his ship. He saw how alcohol could change someone, and how pride brought down even the best people.
He was about to leave and as he started walking towards the door he bumped into someone who was much larger than him. He looked up and gulped softly, "I'm sorry." He said trying to apologize for his carelessness. He tried to move past him hoping that the situation was over and that he wouldn't get hurt. He decided it was better to get out of the mess hall now. He gr4abbed his book and left the room in quite a hurry hoping that no one followed him.
As he kept on running hoping that no one was following him, down a corridor he turned and ran smack into Darius. They both fell to the floor and they rolled around for a bit before Dmitriy looked to see if his imaginary pursuers were chasing him. Once he saw that indeed no one was chasing him. He sighed in relief knowing that he was safe.
He decided maybe it was better if he went to his room and just slept, hoping that everyone would forget about him and that he could blend into the background. He got up and was about to leave until he realized that he had hurt someone and then left him to die. He saw the man named Darius that he had ran into and he stooped down to his level. "I'm sorry I knocked you down." he said feeling honestly bad for what he had done. His first day on the ship and already things were going horribly wrong. He held out his hand hoping the other would take it, as a symbol of apology and honest care for him. He hoped that Darius could forgive him.

Demi went to open her mouth again, but Allison walked in, interrupting her sneaky thoughts. As Alli greeted them, Demi gave a coy smile and stared over at the other two boys with an innocent face. Alli seemed to take her time getting foot, which made Demi's impatient feelings grow stronger till her foot started tapping. When Alli finished, Demi let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding. That was, until Allison seemed to notice she was up to something and wanted "in". Demi acted like an aggrivated child, crossing her arms and stomping her feet, which caused her brother to roll his eyes.
Dion, however, acted differently in Alli's presence. He ducked his head a bit, avoiding her gaze. He already felt guilty about telling Travis about Mutt, which caused him to feel bad for Mutt, and now about Alli. He bit down on his bottom lip in shame. Luckily, his sister's actions kept his attention elsewhere and he rolled his eyes at her when Alli figured out she was up to no good. "You can't really blame her, Dem. Your fat ego gets in the way." Demi stuck her tongue out at him, and he was about to reply, when Travis entered this time. Dion turned back to the dishes, as not to add to the suspicion. Before Di could put his hands in the water, Travis scolded both he and his sister for not doing all of their chores. Dion sighed. Typical. But, instead of complaining, he gave Travis a break and went back to scrubbing dishes. Travis gave a smile and thanked him, which Dion replied with a small smile and a nod.
Demi hurried to the mop and pale and handed a broom to Sigma. But, before leaving, she looked out the window, asking Alli if she would bring some clothes for Lynn. Turning back to Sigma, she smiled shyly. "Sorry I'm making you help," she whispered to him, but he didn't seem to mind. They went out to the mess hall, Demi throwing the bucket of water sloppily on the floor and mopping in big circles. She looked over at Sigma, who was sweeping up and held back a smile. She blushed, biting her bottom lip in embarassment. "Um, I really appreciate your help, Sigma." He nodded to her, and her blush intensified. When the floor started to look cleaner, she turned to Sigma, who handed her a note. She glanced down, the words tugging at her chest and causing her to smile. "Sure," she replied as grabbed his shoulder and headed for a table.
Dion, with help from Travis, quickly finished up the dishes. He was right, they made a great team. But before Travis could talk him into anything else, Dion slipped out of the kitchen and headed for where Sigma and Demi sat. He took a seat next to Sigma, who was listening intently to Logan, who now announce the raid. Dion took in some of the details, also remembering Demi's offer to switch places. He snapped back to reality as he felt paper under his fingertips. He looked over and noticed Sigma handed him a noted. He read it quickly and moved closer to whisper. "No problem. You, Demi, and I will head over after dinner. Um.....after Demi and I.......switch places...." When he spoke those words, his sister almost jumped out of her seat from excitement. He looked over at Sigma and sighed. "What have I done?"

Travis rolled his eyes as he looked around the Mess Hall, not seeing anybody volunteering to help him serve dinner. He ducked back into the solitude that was his kitchen, "I suppose I'll have to do this all by myself once again.." He shrugged and walked over to the now clean mountain of dishes that he and Dion hadn't bothered to put away earlier and he started arranging them onto trays. Each tray contained a bowl, a small side-dish plate, a glass, fork, spoon, and a napkin. Travis decided to only make five trays at a time, knowing that he would probably finish more quickly this way. Just as he spooned the first serving of stew into a bowl, he heard somebody clear their throat over at the serving counter. Travis looked over just in time to see Brynn leaning on the counter, seemingly as provocatively as she could manage. Instead of seeing her cleavage, as Brynn had hoped, Travis' eyes traveled up to her shoulder, where one of the swords stuck out over her shoulder. "You inconsiderate little..." He tried to sensor the profanity even in his own mind as Brynn began to speak, "I hope you're on the menu because I'm hungry for something hot." Travis' eyes widened, "Wow... this chick is relentless..." It took everything Travis possessed to not roll his eyes again, "Brynn, maybe you should go talk to Rose..considering you did just steal out of the infirmary." He paused and didn't see any change in her face, "And perhaps you should claim a table..you know as well as I do that the Mess Hall fills up quickly during dinner.." He looked over to the trays, "...and no..I'm not on the menu.."
Travis shook his head, still not noticing any particular change in Brynn's stance or attitude, and he returned to serving the stew. He sighed, having already filled all of the bowls he had prepared on the trays, and returned his glance to Brynn. "I'm in a bit of a hurry, if you hadn't noticed. I need to get everything served up before passengers start arriving. If you would actually like to help me by setting up more trays, then come on in." Travis moved onto the salads, placing them quickly and yet neatly on the small plates next to the full bowls of stew. "I'll just leave the biscuits in a basket on the counter for people to take, if they want them..." He started setting up more trays and before he knew it the large island in the center of the kitchen was covered in prepared serving trays. Smiling to himself, Travis allowed his eyes to linger back to the serving counter and saw that Brynn was no longer standing there. Part of him felt relief, but another part of him worried that she would just take her anger at him out on an innocent crew member...that wasn't too far fetched.
Travis glanced down at his watch, "5:30.." and he pushed open the swinging door. He found Dion sitting alone at a table, day-dreaming and Demi was sitting with Sigma talking. He decided Dion would probably be more willing to help him serve dinner, "Dion.. would you mind giving me a hand serving everything? People are about to arrive." Dion snapped to attention and stood up immediately, "Of course!" Travis smirked and re-entered the kitchen, and Dion soon followed. "Thanks for all of your help today, Di." He paused as he looked out into the Mess Hall, a few people were beginning to arrive. "I won't make you do the dishes tonight after dinner. You can have the rest of the day off after dinner..that is if Logan doesn't have anything for you to do." A large smile appeared on the boy's face and he nodded happily, "Thanks, Travis. I really appreciate it." Travis nodded, "That's why I thought you deserved it, plus you haven't had off in quite a while and I thought you deserved a break." Travis' attention was drawn away from Dion by a voice at the serving window. He smiled and carted the biscuit basket over to the counter to see who was there. "Oh! Travis! Dinner smells fantastic today. What's on the menu?" Travis beamed as he snatched one of the trays piled with food and brought it over to her, "Hey Tina. It's nothing too much...just some stew and salad." The middle-age woman's smile grew even more when she smelled the meal up close, "You always underestimate yourself, dear." She shook her head and headed off to one of the tables.
Each conversation that followed Tina's seemed to flow the same way. Each person complimenting his cooking style, saying that he could be a professional chef for some fancy restaurant in the city. Each time he replied that he would much rather spend his time on the ship with the people he grew up with. Before he knew it, the trays that Travis had prepared earlier were all handed out, but there were still hungry people waiting for food. Luckily, in the background, Dion was making more trays for Travis to hand out. Travis looked at him, "Thanks, kiddo." and then returned to serving the passengers. Eventually, though nearly everyone was served. "Where the hell is Allison and..Mutt? Of course they're both not here. Not only am I pissed, but Logan is going to be, too. I don't so much care about Mutt..but Allison I do.." The Mess Hall was beginning to fill with chatter, and Travis ducked his head out and saw Logan and a woman he didn't know enter the room. Logan was scanning the room, looking for people that were missing but it was obvious that he was distracted. The room fell quiet as the rest of them noticed the unknown woman and Logan smiled. Travis exited the kitchen when he saw Logan nod towards him, knowing immediately that Logan wanted a table. Travis dragged a table over to them and he heard Logan say ,"Your podium awaits you, ma'am."
Travis returned to the kitchen, only to grab a bowl of stew and instructed Dion to do the same. They both stood outside of the kitchen and waited for the announcements to begin. "Good evening," Logan greeted everybody. The room in return roared good evenings, hellos, and various other greetings. "Well, I'll start with the most obvious news. This is Lyn. She is a new member of the Highwind crew. I hope you all accept her warmly and kindly. Pardon her if she doesn't speak much, she is a little sky and has gone through a lot these past few days." Various people around the room nodded in agreement, and some of the smaller children chimed in 'hellos'. Travis nodded towards the two as he dug into his stew, hunger suddenly taking over his being. But just a few words interrupted all of that, "Well, has anyone noticed lately that it's about time we go on a raid?" A roar of approval shot through the room, the loudest being the men in the corner. Travis listened to the rest of the details carefully, "1 am?" He whispered to Dion, "If you're gonna be up for that you might want to use your spare time to rest, kid." Dion nodded and headed over to were Demi and Sigma were listening to Logan go on about the raid.
The room was suddenly silenced other than two people screaming at each other-- Sin and Rosen. "Typical." Everybody was watching them closely, a few looked ready to jump in the middle of the two to break it up, others seemed to be enjoying themselves too much. Just as Travis was about to slam his bowl on the table and pull the drunken Sin back, Logan interrupted, "Alright children, that's enough. Rosen go take a nap. You need it." Rosen's fury turned towards Logan, but immediately retreated and she turned away and left the room. Logan continued, this time to the rest of the crew, "And nobody disturb her." Now he turned to Sin, "Sin go eat something then we'll talk." The drunken man agreed and headed towards the counter. Travis ducked back into the kitchen and grabbed one of the last bowls of stew, and handed it to Sin, "Here Sin, I saved you a bowl." He looked at him, "Thanks man." The answer was with no real emotion, but Travis saw the gratitude buried deep. Travis looked around the kitchen, and he scooped the last two bowls leaving them on the counter just in case anyone was still hungry and he began to scrub at the dishes, knowing that they wouldn't get done tonight.
Travis picked up the phone that was at his side and he smiled at the answer, "Dad.. you didn't come to dinner." ... "No, no it's alright. I saved you some." ... "Dad can I ask you a favor?" ... "No, you don't have to if you don't want to." ... "Forget I said anything, it's fine." .. "If you insist.. I was going to ask if you would do some of the dinner dishes for me. There's going to be a raid tonight at 1.. and I'd like to prepare." ... "Thanks a lot, you don't have to do all of them.. I'll have time tomorrow..maybe." Smiling once again, Travis hung up the phone and slipped off his gloves, hanging them on the side of the sink. Instead, he began wiping down the counters and waited for his father to arrive.
((Not too terrific.. but it's catching meh up....Allison coming soon.))

A frown lingered on Allison's face as Mutt's watched her, his eyes still glued on his gun in her hand. It suddenly felt like an anchor that was dragging her to the ground. Allison knew how precious Mutt's guns were to him, and the look on his face wasn't making her feel any better about her using it. Rather than Mutt lashing out like she expected him to, he walked over to the dummy that she had been shooting at before he entered. Mutt's hands traced the holes that Allison had just implanted into the dummy, smoke still smoldering in the material. Without turning around, "Don't worry Allison, I think I left that gun out for Dion anyway, so if I'm going to be angry with anyone it would be him." Relief swept over Allison, though she still felt a little unsure. "Sure..Dion left it here, but I should have returned it to you rather than using it.." Mutt turned to face her after drawing in a deep breath, and she gasped at the sight of him. It was more serious than ever and his eyes wandered back to the gun in her possession, "I think it would be good practice for you to use a larger gun. You never know when you might need one." Allison's eyebrow shot up, "Funny that you're saying that and..everything else in your appearance says otherwise."
The room was obviously getting colder, and a shiver ran through Allison. She looked back over to Mutt who was tugging his white jacket, which had large holes, closer to his body. "Huh..that would probably be fixed rather easily with a few patches..it's not too terrible." Mutt grinned and playfully pushed Allison now, "I didn't upset you did I, catching you playing with my toy?" A smile played on the corners of Allison's mouth, realizing the joke he was making quickly. "Oh..Mutt, you wish that I would play with your toy." Allison let out a light, and happier laugh than before, glad that the mood was finally better in the room. She sighed and placed Mutt's gun into his hand, even though it seemed like he was zoning out. Mutt was looking around the Training Room, seemingly confused once more. "Hey Allison, I think I need to know what some of these words mean." A surprised smile appeared on Allison's face as she looked up into Mutt's eyes and he continued, "But..not too many, I don't care that much." Mutt crossed his arms and pouted slightly and Allison's smile grew, "Oh, but of course not."
Allison's eyes landed on Mutt's arm and noticed that he was wearing the watch that she had fixed for him not too long ago. Her eyes widened when she noticed what time it was--5:45. "s**t!" Allison shouted and Mutt tilted his head, suddenly looking worried. "Mutt, we're late for dinner.. Logan's going to be pissed." Mutt's eyes widened and he fumbled to put his gun in the holster at his side. "Don't worry.. I think I have a plan." Mutt nodded and a devious smile appeared on Allison's face. She grabbed Mutt's rough hands and pulled him after her. Allison started running and within a minute they were at the Mess Hall's door. She turned around, "Shh, we need to go in at the right moment." Allison pressed her ear against the wall and it sounded like almost everybody had gotten their food and they were listening to Logan who was just starting to greet the crowd. She turned around and looked back up to Mutt, "Okay.. so Logan's already in there and announcements should be starting soon. We have to be quick." Allison grabbed Mutt's hand again and pushed opened the door only enough for her and Mutt to pull themselves through.
Thankfully, not many people noticed their entrance other than a few small children near the door who were giggling. Mutt snaked his way over to one of the open tables and saved a seat for Allison next to him. Meanwhile, she quickly made her way into the kitchen and quite literally ran into Travis and Dion, who were on their way out. "Oh, hey guys." she whispered and she ducked into the kitchen, grabbing two bowls of the stew that were on the island. Dion was outside of the kitchen now, leaning on the counter and was waiting for Logan to start announcements but Travis remained in the doorway, staring at her. "What?" Allison asked, "Yeah..yeah I know I'm a little late..it's no big deal though. Announcements haven't started." Travis shook his head with a slight smile, "We need to talk later, kid." She rolled her eyes and left the room abruptly and she made her way over to where Mutt was sitting. She handed Mutt his bowl of stew, "Here..it smells really good." Mutt smirked at the look on Allison's face and she shook her head. Both of their attention was drawn to Logan and an unknown woman as he began announcements.
"Well, I'll start with the most obvious news. This is Lyn. She is a new member of the Highwind crew. I hope you all accept her warmly and kindly. Pardon her if she doesn't speak much, she is a little shy and has gone through a lot these past few days." Allison remembered seeing Logan and the woman in the infirmary earlier and how Mutt had asked if they had heard news of a new member. "Well, here she is, Mutt." Allison ate a small spoonful of stew, still trying to pay attention despite the murmurs taking place across the room, but something took her attention. "Well, has anyone noticed lately that it's about time we go on a raid?" A roar of approval and excitement overtook the entire room and Allison contributed by clapping. She continued to eat her stew until it was eventually empty and another thing drew her attention. "Wait.. 1 am?" Allison murmured and turned towards Mutt, "Well, I guess all of today's practice was pretty good timing." She nodded and started talking to people around her.
A few tables away two people were screaming at each other and the entire room was silenced. Allison turned around and saw that it was Rosen and Sin. "That b*****d.. Mutt's punch should have gone to him.." Sin was drunk off his a** and Allison was about to jump up and pull Rosen back, wanting to protect her as per the usual. Logan stopped the fight before Allison could make it over there though, "Alright children, that's enough. Rosen go take a nap. You need it." Rosen looked slightly defeated as she exited the room. Logan then turned to Sin, "Sin go eat something then we'll talk." He nodded and went over to the counter to get some food from Travis. Allison shook her head and sat back down next to Mutt, "If you must know.. I was so angry before because of him. But, I'll get over it, I have to now that we're going on a raid." A smile appeared on her face, "And.. of course I will teach you how to read..as soon as you want me to."
((I'm going to leave this open because I'm not sure what everyone really wants to do.. at least now Allison is caught up and.. Mutt too.. haha))

Brynn saw Travis's eyes travel to her shoulder like she knew they would and she saw a faint change in his eyes. Knew that would piss him off, she thought satisfactorily. But her eyes narrowed when he said she should go talk to Rose because she just stole from the infirmary. "Technically if it's mine I can't steal it..." she muttered under her breath. She ignored the rest of what he said and when he began to do the same in return, she stood up and headed towards her corner of the Mess Hall. She sat down, leaning a chair against the wall and resting there, surveying the room. She was just beginning to relax when Logan walked into the room with Lyn handcuffed to his wrist. She stared, dumbfounded by the audacity of it all. When Logan began to introduce Lyn as a new member of the crew, Brynn could hear the blood thundering in her ears and she began to see red. Nobody knows what she is and he's letting her LIVE with us?! She shook her head, trying to get herself under control, but she couldn't contain her rage on this one. The wrongness of Logan covering up the fact that Lyn was Lyn, Cohen's former fiance and an XForce soldier at that, by distracting the crew with promises of a raid drove her berserk. The sound of her standing and punching the metal wall next to her was drowned out by the cheers from news of a raid, but the big new dent in the wall was hard to miss. Brynn just couldn't think. All the rage built up from her weakness, the sword injury, the pain, Travis' indifference towards her (although she didn't know why that infuriated her so much). But Logan pretending Lyn was one of them set her off. She drew her sword and began turning one of the tables into a pile of scrap metal. Thankfully, she already alone in her corner and most of the people had vacated the Mess Hall in favor of their rooms to rest and ready themselves for the upcoming raid. The feral growl that ripped from her throat also sent most of the rest out the door. Her teeth grinding in her head, all she could focus on was demolishing the table. She knew that if she focused on anything else they're be tasting the edge of Luminescence' blade. She didn't want to be so dramatic but she hadn't been able to let it out and the feel of Luminescence in her hand hacking away at the table just felt so good. Brynn hoped she'd run out of steam before she turned her vengeance on someone she loved.
