Mokoyis hid a smile at his stares. Of course it was odd to sit and speak with a stranger for an hour and never see their face. She wondered if she was a surprise. Her accent was slight and the room was dark, there was a chance he didn't even know she was an Indian. That could be awkward.
At least the poor boy would get some dry clothes, and she promised herself, if not him, that she would ensure he got a tamer view of LOTUS another day...perhaps in a rather far other day. That's if he didn't decide to run away first.
She watched him expectantly as he removed his own mask, and lifted her eyebrows in appreciation. Whatever she had been expecting it hadn't been this. His skin wasn't as dark as some carribean people she had met, the warm coloured matched his voice perfectly. What surprised her most was the expression. It was like he had two masks, and silently she christened him "Hides Behind Invisible Masks". It was a bigger surprise when he let his guard down for a moment. That was what took her breath away. Mokoyis had always had a weak spot for handsome men.
"You're welcome Vashan," She even managed to pronounce it correctly the first try. "I'm Mokoyis, Elite member of LOTUS." She gave him her formal title as she lacked a last name that she would acknowledge. "Hopeflly we haven't scared you away." She gave him a shy smile, "I would be very sad if you were to disappear after tonight."

She seemed a little surprised at his introduction, and Vashan felt himself clamming up again, suddenly feeling incredibly anti-social. It wasn't supposed to be a big deal, but something inside of him told him that it wouldn't be a good move to drive this female away, so he stayed silent, keeping himself in check in case of another similar outburst.
He wasn't sure what had gotten over him. To be perfectly frank, it was a surprise even to himself that he had surrendered to this foreign lady by giving him name so readily and feeling so at ease with her. He felt his face stoning up again, even as she spoke to him, and he fought to keep himself easy and relaxed so as not to disturb her in any way.
As she said his name, he flinched and flicked his eyes over her face, feeling a shock of surprise attack his ribcage at her words.
"Elite...?" he whispered roughly, suddenly feeling very, very small. She had been at LOTUS for a long, long time and yet she still found merit in accompanying a total new recruit like himself. He closed his eyes and missed her smile, but he heard it in her voice- it made him uneasy.
But, somehow, he also felt like it was the beginning of something and that he would be a total idiot to dismiss it.
So he said the best that he could, passing through the doors of the Masquerade room and into the hallway, the feathers on his mask fluttering ridiculously as he walked,
"You didn't. I enjoyed it."
And that was that.

a** they stormed out, Estrelas looked around the room as she realized they had quickly become the centerpiece of the room. She spun around and came very close to slapping the cat-like man. How could he be so cool and joking when- when- when all this had happened?
Both women momentarily stopped in the hallway when Sebastien called out. Estrelas nearly dropped the remains of the costume she carried when she craned her neck around. She gave Sebastien a puffed-up, angry glare much like a fuming chicken and was about to say something spectacularly un-Catholic before remembering that Sebastien was a senior member after all.
"Do no worry Eponine. It is only that horrible man that was pretending to be nice to you," Estrelas said loudly. "We keep walking. Maybe he see we had enough and we no think it funny and he go away." That was as close to tact as Estrelas could get.
Eponine snuck a glance under her mass of hair. To her surprise, the young man she had been dancing with seemed rather hurt too. "Did yo-" she began, but Estrelas quickly began talking again.
"We go feed Angel and play card game, you think Epaninny? Estrelas fairly shouted, pointedly turning her back to Sebastien.
Eponine tugged Estrelas's arm and whispered, "That blonde boy, he looks like he's sorry. Maybe we should-"
"No, you see? Ah read about it. He think you a voo-nerable little girl and he take advantach of you, you see?"
Behind her tangled hair, Eponine flushed. "Estrelas! I'm sure he's not a-"
"But he try dishonor you!" Estrelas exclaimed.
Eponine shrugged uncomfortably. "I'm not sure if he was involved in the whole thing..."
The Portuguese woman snorted. "If he friend do that to you we shun his entire family and no help them plow field," she explained slowly.
Eponine shook her head. "But I don't want... I don't want anyone to feel bad over..."
"It make you feel gooder if we clean thing up with him?" Estrelas asked, using unfamiliar slang. "It make you feel no bad no more?"
Eponine hesitated. The question seemed safe enough. "Well, yes, I think-"
"Then Ah go talk to him. Epaninny, you stay there and if he try take advatach of me you scream loud," Estrelas instructed. "Angel protect you."
The rabbit snorted and resumed washing her ears.
Eponine's eyes widened. "Estie- no-"
Too late.
Estrelas turned around and stomped up to Sebastien.
"YOU YOUNG MAN! WHAT YOU WANT SAY TO EPANINNY YOU TELL ME AND AH TELL HER!" Estrelas roared in his face.

Sebastien was relieved when he saw the two women stop, but it was short-lived as he realized the one walking back in his direction was not Eponine, but Estrelas. He shut his eyes at her screams, the skin around his eyelids crinkling. He opened one eye slowly when the noise had subsided, and he figured it was safe enough to open the other as well.
Sebastien exhaled and his shoulders dropped. He hadn't really thought it out this far through. What did he want to say? What could he say? Looking down, Sebastien removed his mask, unhooking the ribbons from behind his ears, buried in his pale, shining hair and it fell into his hands.
He looked back up at Estrelas, pale blue eyes unable to hold the woman's dark ones, instead searching around her face.
"I'm sorry."
Letting out another breath, he turned slowly, and began to walk in the other direction towards the staircase that would lead him to his room and to the end of this disastrous night.

Hyo looked at the piece of cloth, that the kind spirit handed to him. It had lots of these weird engrish symbols, which he didn't understand at all, but the way it was formated made a bit of sense. The first word had its symbols written bigger than the rest, and with much more space between them, which made him think that these symbols are written somewhere, and he's supposed to find them. The next one, small, stylised picture of the sun, was obvious. They're supposed to meet as soon as the sun comes out. So, tomorrow at dawn. I'll be waiting. The boy bowed to the kind spirit with a goodbye, and went on his way to his room, to take his rest after the tiring day. Not mush time for it, though.. He'll have to wake up early to be in the right place before dawn.

This caught Estrelas very much off guard. Her mouth hung open a bit and her nostrils flared.
"You what? You what?" she called after him once she was able to gather her wits. Too late.
Eponine apparently had heard Sebastien too. The robot stood silently with her toes tucked in, fiddling with a bit of foam in her hands.
Estrelas ducked back to her friend. "Epaninny... Ah do not think Ah know what to think," she said.
Eponine shook her head. "Me neither..."
"It like he no bad, but he no good? What we do?"
"I- I don't know."
"We go back to room," Estrelas said firmly. "Angel! Where you go? We go back to room and we go sleep and everything make senses in morning."
Eponine slowly nodded. "You always know what to do, don't you?" she asked quietly, beyond Estrelas' hearing.
The Portuguese woman hooked an arm around Eponine's shoulders and began striding back to the living quarters, Angel hopping on ahead.
Eponine hoped Estrelas would be right, about morning. It would certainly be nice.
